Chapter 73 - Chapter 69: No longer a spar

(Saturday, November 4, 2020 – 1:34 PM)

Jin stood firm, ten meters away from Gun, his body relaxed yet coiled like a spring. The moment hung heavy, the air between them buzzing with tension. Every inmate watching felt it, this wasn't just a fight anymore. It was a clash of two predators, two beings who thrived in battle.

Then, Gun moved.

His body crouched slightly, his muscles tensing like a compressed coil, then he vanished.

An afterimage lingered in the spot he once stood, the sheer speed of his movement leaving behind a ghostly blur. In the blink of an eye, Gun was airborne, his body twisting mid-air as he appeared directly in front of Jin.

His right leg snapped forward, cutting through the air like a blade.

This was different. This was faster, stronger, deadlier.

But Jin had time to register it.

'This kick…'

It was the strongest Gun had ever thrown. A technique sharpened through countless battles, the culmination of his growing power and obsession with strength.

Jin's response was instant.

Instead of dodging, instead of blocking, he met it head-on.

His own leg swung out in a brutal roundhouse, muscles tightening as he unleashed his full force.

BOOM!

The moment their legs clashed, a shockwave erupted between them. Dust and debris kicked up in all directions as the force sent both fighters flying backward. Their bodies twisted through the air before landing almost simultaneously with feet skidding across the cracked pavement.

But there was no pause.

Gun's foot barely touched the ground before he launched forward again.

Jin responded in kind.

Both figures vanished, their movements too fast for the average inmate to track. The only signs of their battle were the violent gusts of wind and the echoes of their footfalls.

A select few, however, those who had seen real strength, watched with rapt attention.

The first clear impact came in a fraction of a second.

Gun appeared first with his body twisting as he delivered a savage elbow toward Jin's ribs. Jin blocked with his forearm, but the sheer force sent vibrations through his bones.

Gun followed up instantly.

His knee rocketed toward Jin's side, but Jin twisted his torso, barely avoiding the full brunt of the attack.

Then, counter.

Jin's right fist shot out, aiming for Gun's liver, but Gun redirected the punch with the back of his hand before slipping inside Jin's guard.

Gun's fists became a flurry, his arms moving in sharp, controlled bursts. His strikes targeted Jin's ribs, sides, and abdomen, each hit carrying brutal weight. His precision was surgical, each attack meant to wear Jin down, to crush him from the inside out.

BAM!

Gun's fist buried itself into Jin's side.

Jin's body jerked slightly from the impact, but his expression remained the same.

Gun's grin widened. His heart pounded, blood rushing through his veins in pure exhilaration.

'More.'

His left arm snapped forward, fingers curled into a claw as he went for Jin's throat.

Jin ducked.

A breath.

A counter.

Jin's fist slammed into Gun's ribs, lifting him slightly off the ground. The impact sent shockwaves through Gun's entire torso.

But he didn't falter.

Instead, he laughed.

With his feet barely touching the ground, Gun twisted mid-air with his knee rocketing toward Jin's jaw.

Jin tilted his head slightly, letting the attack graze past his cheek, then retaliated with a brutal left hook.

Gun didn't dodge.

Neither did Jin.

BAM!

Their fists crashed into each other's faces at the same time.

Their heads snapped to the side from the sheer force with blood splattering across the pavement.

But neither fell.

Instead, they exhaled sharply, adjusted their footing.

And attacked again.

(1:37 PM)

The yard was filled with the sound of fists colliding, flesh bruising, and the sharp cracks of bone meeting bone. Jin and Gun were locked in a relentless exchange, neither willing to yield. Each strike carried the weight of their monstrous strength, their blows leaving behind shockwaves that rattled the ground beneath them.

Gun with his reverse eyes shining, moved with brutal efficiency. His Kyokushin strikes were like iron, his punches slamming into Jin's ribs and abdomen with devastating force. But Jin didn't falter. He absorbed the hits head-on. Each time Gun struck, Jin responded with an even more punishing blow.

A right hook from Gun smashed into Jin's jaw, but Jin's head barely turned before he retaliated with a devastating counterpunch straight into Gun's sternum. Gun's body recoiled slightly, but instead of backing off, he twisted into a brutal Kudo elbow strike aimed for Jin's temple. Jin tilted his head just enough to lessen the impact before launching his own strike, a crushing hammer fist down on Gun's shoulder.

BAM!

Gun's body dipped from the force, his muscles screaming in protest, but his grin only widened.

The fight had escalated beyond anything the spectators had ever seen. Some inmates had completely stopped whatever they were doing with their eyes glued to the battle. Even the few individuals who could keep up with the sheer speed of the exchanges, were stunned by the monstrous endurance both fighters displayed.

Jin, still unflinching, surged forward and drove his knee into Gun's stomach. Gun gagged but gritted his teeth, his body instinctively twisting to lessen the damage before swinging his leg in a vicious low kick to Jin's thigh. The impact was enough to crack the ground below, but Jin merely stepped into it, countering with a monstrous uppercut to Gun's ribs that lifted him off the ground for a split second.

They were both growing.

Gun could feel it, his body adapting, his precision sharpening. Every movement was pushing him further, forcing him to tap into depths of strength he hadn't known before.

And Jin? He was enjoying this. His raw power overwhelmed, but Gun's technique and adaptability forced him to think, to refine, to strike even harder.

Their blows became even heavier.

Gun launched a rapid sequence of body shots, his fists digging into Jin's torso with thunderous force. Jin exhaled, tensing his core to absorb the damage, before stepping forward and driving his fist straight into Gun's cheek. Gun's head snapped back with blood spraying from his lips, but he didn't even hesitate before responding in kind.

BAM!

Both their heads jerked back as they struck each other simultaneously, fists colliding with jawlines. The impact sent small ripples through the air, and for a brief moment, they both staggered before immediately regaining their footing.

Then, they distanced themselves.

Gun inhaled sharply, his chest rising and falling. His fists clenched, veins bulging from the sheer force he was channeling through his body. His eyes never wavered and were locked onto Jin with a burning intensity. His grin widened as he took a deep, steadying breath.

Jin, on the other hand, lowered his stance slightly. His left leg slid forward, his left arm extended slightly while his right arm stayed near his face, fist clenched. His breathing was calm, measured.

Then, something changed.

Gun's grin faltered for the first time as he felt it.

Jin's eyes glowed, a faint light blue, almost imperceptible, no one could see it, yet every cell in Gun's body screamed in warning. The air felt heavier. The pressure around Jin seemed to shift, becoming something far more dangerous.

Gun's grin returned, but this time, there was something else in his expression, exhilaration mixed with wariness.

This was no longer just a spar.
