Chapter 11: The Hunt Begins
Ji-ho stood on the rooftop of an abandoned apartment complex, staring at the bustling city below. Neon lights flickered in the darkness, and distant sirens howled like the cries of a dying beast. Seoul had always been a chaotic city, but now… it was his hunting ground.
Target: Han Dae-sik
Affiliation: Black Hound Syndicate
Awakened Rank: B-Class
Estimated Forces: 1000+ Members
This wasn't going to be like the last time.
The first man Ji-ho had killed was a thug—a monster who had deserved far worse than what he got. But Dae-sik was different. He wasn't just some street gangster; he was an organization's leader, protected by a network of killers, informants, and battle-hardened warriors.
Ji-ho needed a plan.
---
Step 1: Gather Intel
Ji-ho spent the next few days in the shadows, observing Black Hound's movements.
He followed their lower-ranked members, listening in on their conversations, tracking their supply routes, and mapping out their hideouts. He discovered that they operated out of three key locations:
1. The Red Fang Club – A high-end nightclub used for business deals and recruitment.
2. The Dockside Warehouse – A supply depot where weapons and illegal goods were stored.
3. The Fortress – A heavily fortified underground compound where Dae-sik and his elite guards resided.
Ji-ho couldn't just storm the Fortress head-on. He needed to thin their numbers first.
---
Step 2: Psychological Warfare
Ji-ho started with the lowest-ranking members—those who spent their nights drinking at the Red Fang Club.
His first victim was a mid-tier enforcer named Jang Ho-jin.
Ji-ho waited in the shadows until Jang staggered out of the club, drunk and alone.
Before the man could react, Ji-ho snapped his wrist like a twig and dragged him into an alleyway.
"Who… the fuck—?" Jang tried to scream, but Ji-ho shoved his fingers into his throat, crushing his voice box.
"No screaming," Ji-ho whispered coldly.
With his new Eye of Evil, Ji-ho saw every way he could kill the man. He chose the slowest.
One precise strike to the kidney.
A shattered kneecap.
Dislocated shoulder.
And then—the final cut.
Jang bled out in the dark, terror frozen in his eyes.
By the next morning, the Black Hounds found his corpse hanging from a streetlight, skinned from the waist up, with a message carved into his chest.
"I am coming."
Panic spread through the ranks.
---
Step 3: Isolate & Exterminate
For the next four days, Ji-ho continued his rampage.
Night 2: He ambushed a supply convoy heading to the Dockside Warehouse, killing eight members and setting the cargo ablaze.
Night 3: He infiltrated a smaller hideout, eliminating twenty guards before vanishing into the shadows.
Night 4: The Black Hounds' paranoia grew. They doubled their security. Members refused to leave their hideouts alone. But it didn't matter.
Ji-ho made them feel hunted.
---
Step 4: Draw Out the Target
On the fifth night, the Black Hound Syndicate made a mistake.
Dae-sik, furious about the killings, sent out his second-in-command, Seo Kang-min, along with fifty men to patrol the streets and find Ji-ho.
That was all Ji-ho needed.
Hiding on the rooftops, Ji-ho waited. His new Target Lock ability activated the moment Kang-min stepped into view.
Multiple kill routes detected.
He smirked. It was time to begin the real hunt.
