She picked up her phone from her table to make a call. She promised she would call, but due to lots of work, she forgot, and then Nicholas came in, too, making her day even worse.
She never thought a day would come where she would have to see him here in her own office. He has got some nerves. She scoffed, then dialed the number she wanted to call.
Amber waited for the second ring; there was still no answer. She furrowed her brows, confused. She dialed the number again, and there was no response. She was scared, thinking something bad must have happened.
This can't be, she thought to herself. This has never happened to her. Whenever she wants to talk to her son, she always gets through to him on time, but why is today different? She wondered.
