Nova looked around the area, trying to see where the creature was attacking from, but due to the lack of vision and the dimly lit area, he could hardly see anything.
Dravon alongside Zara and the other guy, stayed close by, their eyes glowing as they were on their guard, for they knew very well that the creature was deadly, one that took advantage of the darkness that came with the night, making it a lot faster and even more lethal than it was before.
The screams of the adventurers that were trying to capture it could be heard throughout the silent area that they were in; it echoed in the air around them, making everyone alert.
Each of them was ready to fight for their own survival as well as those of their teammates.
Nova's eyes glowed light blue as he looked around him, trying to focus on each and every being around him.
[Aura detection activated.]
[Scan activated.]
[Area cleared.]
[Detection negative.]
[The creature appears to be using a night cloak, which is known to hide even the aura of someone with a strong presence; it is something that is developed overtime, something attained by the number of lives taken or victories won, a task, which many skills require.]
Upon hearing that, Nova's brows furrowed in confusion; he did not like the sound of it; however, it did not change the fact it was a realty and whether he liked it or not, it was how things are, and certain things could not be changed based on one's morality.
He took a deep breath as his staff appeared in his hand and extended into its original form.
He hit the edge of it against the floor, releasing an energy wave that made him see the aura of all those that were within his vicinity and that's when he spotted a blue hue that passed by them quite fast before disappearing and his eyes narrowed.
"It's here; be careful, it is using the shadows to its advantage, and it is very fast," He said to the others, and they nodded as they stayed together.
'We need to get this creature out in the open,' He thought as he looked around, trying to figure out a way to get it out of the shadows of the night, which it was using to its advantage.
'Which one of you here has natural fire abilities?" He asked and the guy in the hood stepped forward as his eyes glowed orange.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked and Nova smirked.
"Light it up, a circle, flame walls and how about you get rid of the shadows?" He asked and the guy's eyes narrowed.
"I am only helping because I need to, do not get it to your head." The guy responded and Dravon chuckled.
"Do not worry, I would not dream of it," Nova added, his tone casual and sarcastic, which made the guy's brows twitch in irritation, but he did not say anything, since it was not the time nor the place to do that.
"Whatever," He muttered as flames began forming in both of his palms.
"Levan, find a way and trap it, without being seen," Nova ordered quietly and Levan who was nearby in the shadows, watching the situation carefully, eyes glowed as he bowed his head, accepting his command.
The guy in the hood released two waves of flames, that formed fire walls around the area they were in and at the same time, Levan's dark flames were released into the ground, small amounts surrounding the guy's flame, reinforcing it to trap the creature within the circle they were all in.
The flames lit up the night, getting rid of most of the shadows around them and they could see clearly once again and the other adventurers who survived the attacks of the creature sighed in relief; they all stayed together, on the alert.
Due to the shadows being gone, a blue dim light began appearing before all of them and out of the shadows came the creature that was literally hunting them just minutes ago, forced to confront them head-on.
It was a blue and black, three-headed, wolf-like beast with a dark, armored body and glowing blue flames. Each head had sharp fangs, piercing blue eyes, and an aggressive expression. The creature's body is muscular, with jagged plating, long claws, and an ethereal, ghostly fire covering its mane, tails, and limbs. It almost resembled a spectral or infernal version of Cerberus mixed with a wolf-like feature around its face.
Everyone stared at its huge form before them, as it growled while looking around, trying to find a way out of the firewall that was now trapping it.
"My, well, this is my first," Nova mumbled as he stared at it and the others exchanged glances as they waited for its next move, preparing themselves to fight if necessary.
"Do we kill it?" The guy in the hood asked and Dravon looked at him, then back at the creature, contemplating his next move, while remembering the reason they came there in the first place.
"Kill it? That will not be easy; the creature has lived for years, accumulating both knowledge and strength like all other magical creatures, but it is also murderous; it is not an innocent one," Dravon responded with his eyes narrowed and Nova glanced at him.
"Carry out the mission, take it down and do not hold back; if the creature lives, it will move towards the city. We end this here tonight; that is an order," Dravon said, his voice firm as he kept his gaze fixed on the agitated creature before their eyes.
Nova listened and watched carefully; he knew Dravon was right, despite their ulterior motives, he could sense the bloodlust coming from the creature; he could sense the stench of death on it, which was an ability he got due to being a necromancer.
His eyes began glowing brighter as they prepared fight the creature, for he knew if they let it live, it would kill a lot more innocent if it got away and got to the city, which they could not let happen.
