Beda was going to have a competition with Celina a year from now. The thought alone made her uneasy. She silently prayed for Aetherius to refuse.
She didn't want to fight that monster.
No... she didn't want anything to do with Celina at all. Facing her in battle meant risking her life.
"My lord..." She tried to speak, but Aetherius's louder voice overshadowed hers.
"I accept. Do you really think Celina stands a chance? I'll personally train Beda. A girl like who's been dead for two years... her skills are bound to rot."
"Don't make dumb assumptions, Aetherius. I'll train my daughter well." Vlad said with a grin. He shot Beda a sharp glare, making her look away immediately. "Let's meet again a year from now. Then, we shall see who truly is the real champion"
Aetherius watched him leave, the room falling into a tense silence. No one moved until the door slammed shut.
