A close combat training class with teacher Zagressa.
And I was paired to train with the lion prince of the demi-human kingdom.
"What are you two doing! Put all your strength on your dominant foot when doing that much wind up!"
The teacher is... teaching... two poor souls.
"But why are you winding up that much! It doesn't make your attack stronger" she began to drill her finger at the student "And it leaves you open for so many attacks!"
"Uuhhh..."
If I look around, Theo is training with Cecil. Fran got paired up with another student, and I'm here with the guy that hates me.
Lyon Alva, he has been avoiding me after our fight on the first day of classes.
"Let's just get this over with" he gripped his axe and locked eyes with me.
"... yea... sure thing"
I can feel the awkwardness in the air between us, neither of us wants to interact with the other.
We both got into our stance, ready to start a fight.
Axes, swords, polearms and other.
Those are the weapon types in the game.
Axes have lower accuracy but hit really hard, they're also te cheapest weapon type.
Polearms have higher crit chances and include any kind of long weapon like halberds, lances, spears and the like.
Swords types include anything that somewhat resembles something with an edge. Long swords, katanas, machetes, rapiers and more.
Other, is where every weapon that doesn't fall on the other three categories goes to. You can find blunt weapons like hammers and clubs, or more unconventional like scythes and whips.
Ranged also has its own distinction, but those aren't relevant right now.
What's relevant right now, is that Zagressa is watching us... and we haven't moved a single muscle.
"If you two don't move a muscle! I swear that I'll make both of you run around the whole academy without rest!"
That... I could work with running around instead of dealing with Lyon.
And Lyon, just like me, is considering taking the other option.
But the tiger demi-human we have as a teacher definetely noticed that.
"You two! You'll fight against me! A two on one" she opened her arms and tried to use her smirk to provoke us into attacking her.
Lyon and I glanced at eachother, clearly not wanting to work together.
"You! Just let me do everything!" The lion prince yelled at me as he prepared himself to run at our teacher.
"All yours man!" I consider myself to be able to recognize a bad idea, and fighting against Zagressa is the worst idea possible.
Lyon charged with his axe behind him, winding up a powerful attack with his axe.
Zagressa didn't even change her weak stance, she kept her legs far apart and her arms open.
"I told you two to attack me!"
"Huh?"

Why did she suddenly appear next to me?
Why is she on a position to hit my left side?
"HARKH!!" The impact of this tiger eared woman's punch on my left side was so strong that it sent me flying against another group that was minding their own business.
"You took down a criminal group and that's all you can do!?!?"
Lyon couldn't believe it.
Half-way through his run against the teacher, she just disappeared in front of him. Leaving the ground where she stood broken.
A strong wind that made him cover up his eyes and look backwards.
And when he finally opened his eyes, he saw me on the ground, grabbing my left side and groaning.
"Stand up!" The teacher gave me a light but painful kick on my stomach "The more you stay on the ground, the more you'll suffer, golden boy"
Zagressa then stomped my face against the ground really hard and rubbed his foot on my cheek.
"Oh? Nice killing intent... where is it coming from?"
She looked around, and found the two sources of the killing intent she was looking for.
Franchesca Von Themys and Cecil Treyaro.
While Fran had a cold stare and gripped her own fist with so much strength that her knuckles turned white, Cecil's face seemed a lot more calm, as if nothing was happening, but his killing intent betrayed that outwards appearance.
Zagressa simply grinned at both of them, knowing that she could easily take them both and win, knowing that no one would do anything to help me.
Whenever a character used a weapon type they weren't familiar with, their damage would go down.
And Zagressa is no different. But why is she so strong even while holding no weapons?
The answer is that Zagressa uses the 'other' weapon type, she uses gauntlets to fight.
But she's also the only recruitable unit in the game that can fight with no weapon equipped and not recieve a stats decrease.
She doesn't need a weapon, and when you do get nice gauntlets, it's on the beginning of the endgame, where you already have lots of money.
"What's the matter? Can't use yer spells on my class?" She mocked me as se pressed her foot harder on my face.
Now all eyes are on me, every student stopped their sparring to look at me et stepped on by a teacher.
But I wasn't the only one being stared at.
Lyon Alva is also the one fighting against this crazy teacher.
But he sees no clear opening.
No matter what he did, every move he planned was countered in some way or another
"Aaah!"
So he just ran.
He ran against Zagressa and did a vertical slash.
But Zagressa easily avoided that attack, attack that ended up hitting me instead.
"AGH! You... why that specific attack?"
I hugged my left arm as, even if it's a wooden replica of an axe, being hit by hard wood still hurts.
"Tsk"
No, don't just click your tongue!!
I stood up and punched him in te face
"Asshole..." I muttered to myself as I rubbed my left side.
*Thud!*
He hit me back...
Understandable... I guess...
"What the fuck is your problem!?"
"You punched me in the face, dickhead!!"
"Yea, I did. Because you hit me with that axe, dumbass!!"
"I had no other choice!!"
"No other choice!?!?" You could hear how baffled I was "And a horizontal attack that wouldn't have hit me?"
"Tsk"
TSK!?!?
I was so close to punching this demi-human prince, this fucking lion eared asshole, so close to punching him in the face.
But the teacher's loud and mocking laugh interrupted me.
"Are you just gonna let that guy just do that!? Just click his tongue and act as if nothing happened"
She was sadly right. I can accept mistakes like this one, it happens some time.
But this guy didn't even try to stop his attack.
*Thud!*
I punched his face again.
"You didn't even apologize for hitting me!"
He simply just groaned and swung his axe against me.
He swung it HORIZONTALLY.
I jumped back and avoided his attack.
"I wouldn't let that boy get away with what he's doing. Making you lose points and punching you out of nowhere? It was his fault for being so weak that he fell to the ground by a simple punch"
"You should've just avoided it if you're so good"
I gripped my wooden knives tightly.
"I should've just avoided it!? I was on the ground and injured!"
Is this guy seriously saying that?
"And how come you're able to stand up right now? It seems it wasn't that painful and you were only faking it!"
He ran at me before I could even open my mouth to answer.
He slashed diagonally at me.

"Are you sure about it Yani?" The pink haired protagonist asked to her tanned friend.
"Yes, totally" the redhead affirmed as she peeked through the corner of a wall.
"I-I don't think an Aurum Academy teacher could be doing that"
"Trust me Kaida... I saw him enter the blue tower way past midnight"
"B-but couldn't it be that... you saw someone else?"
"What!? No. You know I have a really good vision"
"B-bu-"
"And even if I was wrong, someone entered the blue tower past midnight. And that's something we need to investigate"
There are four towers on the corners of Aurum Academy city.
The red tower that's the entrance to Aurum Academy city on the northwest.
The green tower that's the entrance to Aurum Academy on the southwest.
The yellow tower, located on the southeast, that oversees the coastline and all the boats that come in and out.
The blue tower, located on the northeast, that serves as the prison for all the people that knights and members of the golden troupe mana to catch.
"I guess you're right..." The yellow eyed girl couldn't deny that wether the suspect was a teacher or not, entering the blue tower way past visiting hours was something to look out for.
"But I understand you Kaida... you'd rather be with Alen than be with your friend" the tanned girl from the Viavoule kingdom faked a sad tone with her voice.
"Y-yaniii!" Kaida regretted telling her friend about the little chat she had with that boy.
Yani just laughed before continuing to stalk the supposed teacher that's doing something illegal.
