Kram stood there in shock as he watched Vexar tumble to the ground, blood trickling from his neck. In that moment he realised what his opponent Amy was doing, to her this was no test. It was a battle where one could die at any given time.
He wondered if she was passing him a message to take things seriously, if she was, would he be able to. Despite being a male he knew she would easily overpowered him in terms of physicality and flexibility. Kram knew that to win he would have to hone every second of his training into this moment.
The only advantage he had was that he knew her from her roots, and so did she. Amy had always been unpredictable so to sum it all up he knew he was going to have a rough win.
Pedro Lascara the officer in charge of the test had just witnessed a level of brutality that should not exist in the mind of trainees. In front of his eyes was not a test but a battle, the dominator was as ferocious as her name presumed. To him the chances of the sniper winning would have been low if not for a slight advantage.
The dominator's armour was close to falling apart and a few decisive shots would do the trick. As much as he felt pressured to end the fight and pull away the body of the assasin he had to hold off for a few more seconds. He wanted to see the final results of the battle.
Back in the center of the training room, the remnants of some mech pieces remained on the ground and with it the two remaining contenders for the number one spot remained.
They stayed there motionless for seconds, the dominator holding up a stance similar to boxing with the blades on the mech suit visible. Her face could be seen throught the cracked helmet and it was slightly burned.
The sniper managed to find two plasma rifles he had found, his mech was in a much better state but he knew better than to bet on that. Light Mechs were anything but sturdy and since they were second generation Mechs they would be losing their ability to function quite soon, he would decide his final attack in one shot.
As if ignited by the sound of a pin dropping Amy charged forward in her shadow dancer, her advance pattern came as a shock to officer Pedro Lascara.
"That girl she's one clever trainee." He remarked, only managing to hide some of his shock.
Amy did not charge straight forward, instead she darted in a zig zag motion as she approached her target. At first it looked simple but the moment she strode to one side she would kick off the ground with the full extent of her Mechs strength making her zig zag motion seem five times faster and hard to predict. If she wanted to avoid being shot while closing the gap she was doing the right thing.
"Shut, where did she learn this kind of movement?" Kram hissed within his mech as he executed his own plan and what he did came as more of a shock to the tech personnel.
One of the tech personnels next to the officer screamed at the monitor. "This boy is a mad genius, sniper my ass, he's a walking gunsmith."
Officer Pedro Lascara who had been too intrigued in Amy's special motion turned and looked at Kram and he was indeed shocked. "Did you design the pistols to be used like that?" He asked nervously.
The tech personnel who had been not too interested in the test so far responded with glee at the enginuity at the young trainee. "I mean if he can factor in the collision course and reroute the energy splicer, perhaps he won't blow up."
That was hardly an answer for the officer but he knew better to ask one of the tech enthusiasts when they went full science.
Within the testing grounds Kram was still betting on his one shot to end this, because he knew he would have to make it count he did a little bit of improvising. He took one look at the two plasma rifles in his hand and used low intensity blasts to weaken the back of one and slowly through some sloppy improvisation he combined both rifles together into one rifle.
This way he was betting that the long barrel and double firing power would amplify his shot by at least two fold. Unknown to him he had created a rough imitation of a high powered plasma sniper rifle.
He powered it up and aimed at Amy, she was getting closer and closer with each explosive movement, he knew she running out of time before her mech gave out and he knew his mech would only need one shot to finish her off but would he be able to make it.
"All I need is one shot." Kram started to aim for where she would be but her pattern was unpredictable so he tried his best to predict the unpredictable because his life depended on it.
In Amy's head on the other hand she knew she was expending too much energy with her rapid bursts in movement. She had seen Kram build a bigger weapon but she had no way to challenge it but to charge right through it.
Outside the training room everyone's eyes were glued to the scene, the two trainees acting like they were in a real battle, fighting for their lives.
It only took a second for the explosion to escape from the poorly constructed sniper rifle, it's plasma ray impacted Amy at a fast speed, the rifle exploded from the overload of energy. Amy barely managed to weave the attack but it disabled her right arm as the blast grazed her. She screamed out in pain but she but down on her lips and closed in on Kram who was now defneseless and shoved into him.
Kram's mech had been damaged by the explosion of the rifle causing him to lose control over his mech for a few seconds and becoming dazed. By the time he had regained his senses, he had lost to Amy.
