Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The First Day

The early morning sun cast a soft golden hue over the Kent farmland, painting the land in shades of amber and green. The air carried the crisp scent of dew and fresh earth, the quiet hum of nature filling the tranquil countryside.

But within the warm confines of the Kent household, two beings—ones who did not belong to this world—were awakening to a new existence.

A Promise in the Dark

Kara sat by the window, her arms wrapped around her knees.

The vast, endless sky stretched before her, but all she saw were ghosts of the past.

The fiery explosion that had swallowed Krypton.

The screams, the chaos, the desperate escape.

The crushing realization that her home was gone.

Her fingers clenched into fists.

She had failed her parents.

She had failed her people.

But she would not fail him.

Her gaze drifted toward the crib, where a small figure lay wrapped in a soft blanket.

Kal-El.

Her last link to Krypton. Her only remaining family.

At first, her promise to protect him had been simple—a duty entrusted to her. But as the hours passed, as she watched over him through the night, the emotions inside her twisted into something deeper.

Something darker.

She couldn't lose him.

He was hers to protect. Hers.

She slowly rose to her feet, walking toward the crib. A soft hand brushed against his forehead.

"You're safe now," she whispered.

Her touch was gentle. But her blue eyes burned with something else.

Possessiveness.

A Mind Awakens

Kal-El's bright blue eyes stared up at the wooden ceiling.

To anyone else, he was just an infant. Helpless. Oblivious. Weak.

But his mind was wide awake.

He had spent the night processing everything—the world, his surroundings, his guardians. And most importantly…

The whispering will inside him.

Superman's legacy—or perhaps the Codex of Krypton itself—pressed into his consciousness.

A relentless, nagging instinct.

"Rebuild. Repopulate. Restore what was lost."

Kal internally sighed.

Did he care about Krypton?

Not even a little.

But the will wouldn't stop, gnawing at his mind like an itch he couldn't scratch.

And so, like any logical man…

He solved the problem in one night.

His lips curled—or at least, tried to. It was difficult to smirk as a baby.

If Krypton needed to be repopulated…

Then he would simply do it himself.

Why waste time and effort searching for lost Kryptonians across the multiverse?

Why bother… when he alone could father the next generation?

Superman's will had unknowingly pushed him toward the most efficient—and enjoyable—solution.

A chuckle almost escaped him.

Problem solved.

His tiny fingers curled as he drifted back to sleep, satisfied.

"I'll start when I grow up."

A World That Took Notice

Not everyone had slept soundly that night.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters – Underground Surveillance Facility

Deep beneath the earth, inside a classified SHIELD facility, alarms had been triggered.

Rows of analysts stared at massive digital screens, scanning data feeds from orbital satellites.

One of them gulped. "Sir, we… we have a situation."

Nick Fury, standing with his usual stern expression, took a slow breath. His one good eye narrowed.

He scanned the report.

An unidentified object. Crashed from space. Composition—unknown.

Alien.

That was the only conclusion.

Fury clenched his jaw.

First Captain Marvel. Now this.

"The universe is getting crowded," he muttered.

"Keep this off the books. I want boots on the ground ASAP. No one breathes a word of this."

The last thing he needed?

Another goddamn alien problem.

Kamar-Taj – The Sorcerer Supreme's Chambers

Far away, inside the mystical halls of Kamar-Taj, a woman sat in quiet meditation.

The Ancient One.

Her fingers danced through the air, weaving golden strands of energy, tracing the flow of fate.

She had felt it.

A disturbance in the balance.

A tear in reality.

Her eyes flickered open, her gaze piercing through the fabric of the universe itself.

She saw glimpses of the two beings who had arrived.

And then… she focused on the child.

An enigma. A void in destiny.

Unpredictable.

Her breath slowed.

Fate had changed the moment he entered this world.

"Who… are you?" she whispered.

She saw countless futures, shifting like grains of sand, impossible to grasp.

And yet—

A single certainty remained.

This child would shape the fate of the entire universe.

Back at the Farm

Kal-El let out a tiny yawn, curling into the soft warmth of the blanket.

He could feel the eyes of powerful forces watching him from afar.

SHIELD? The Ancient One? The multiverse itself?

Didn't matter.

They weren't his problem.

Right now, the only thing that mattered…

Was adjusting to this new life. Observing. Planning.

And of course…

Enjoying the warmth of Martha's embrace.

His tiny lips curled upward.

"This… isn't so bad."
