The early morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a soft golden glow across the quaint bedroom. The gentle rustling of leaves outside the window blended with the melodic chirping of birds, creating a peaceful symphony of nature. The scent of freshly tilled earth and morning dew drifted through the open window, adding to the serenity of the Kent farmhouse.
Nestled inside a handmade wooden crib, wrapped in the soft warmth of a woolen blanket, Kal-El lay still, his tiny chest rising and falling in the rhythm of sleep.
On the surface, he appeared like any ordinary infant—fragile, innocent, helpless.
But inside, his mind was anything but.
His consciousness, sharp and aware, existed in stark contrast to his underdeveloped body. He had already begun studying, calculating, adapting to this new world. Every day, he absorbed more—his superhuman senses slowly but surely tuning into the vast existence around him.
As he slowly curled his tiny fingers, something cold and metallic brushed against his skin.
His infantile blue eyes flickered downward.
A ring.
The Artifact of Creation
It rested snugly on his small finger, its dark metallic surface etched with cryptic, otherworldly symbols, glowing faintly beneath the morning light.
Kal's eyes narrowed slightly.
It had always been there.
But until now, he had been too preoccupied with adjusting to his new life to truly notice it.
His mind sharpened, memories flickering back to the old man in the void—the being who had granted him this second life.
The ring was his artifact. The key to his personal universe.
And now, it was time to see what it could do.
The moment the thought crossed his mind, space itself twisted around him.
A pull. A shift.
Then—he was gone.
A World Untouched
The sky above was vast and endless, an ethereal expanse of gold and violet hues, swirling together in a mesmerizing cosmic dance. Wisps of cloud drifted lazily across the horizon, their edges shimmering with an unearthly glow, as though infused with raw creation itself.
The air was pure and crisp, filled with the scent of blooming flora and damp earth—not just any flora, but plants that had never existed in any known universe.
Kal stood in the middle of a dense, vibrant jungle, surrounded by towering trees that stretched infinitely high, their massive trunks adorned with glowing veins of energy. Leaves as wide as ship sails pulsed with bioluminescent light, shifting colors with each passing second.
The canopy above was so thick it should have blocked out the sky—but here, light radiated from the very air itself, creating an endless twilight paradise.
Flowing through the jungle, crystal-clear rivers meandered like silver threads, their surfaces reflecting the cosmos above in stunning clarity. The water carried an almost hypnotic shimmer, and deep within its depths, strange, iridescent fish darted between coral-like structures that glowed softly in shifting shades of blue and violet.
The sounds of life surrounded him—a harmonious blend of creatures from across existence. Birds, insects, beasts—some familiar, others alien, all moving in perfect synchrony.
Yet, despite the overwhelming life that thrived around him, there were no cities, no civilizations, no history carved into the land.
This was a world untouched.
A land of pure, unshaped potential.
Kal inhaled deeply, his enhanced senses drinking in every sensation.
This was his universe.
The one granted to him by the old man.
His personal domain.
For now, it only contained one planet. But deep within, he could feel it—it would grow.
More worlds, more landscapes, more life—as his power expanded, so would his kingdom.
His lips curled slightly.
One day, this place would be his empire.
Sealed Power, Faint Embers
Kal clenched his tiny fist, willing his power to manifest.
Nothing.
His brow furrowed.
Again, he focused, reaching inward, searching for the divine essence locked within him.
Still… nothing.
He exhaled sharply.
He had expected this.
His true divinity, the power to shape reality, create worlds, and ascend beyond mortality, was sealed until he turned 18.
It was frustrating, but he had already accepted this limitation.
However… there was one ability he had yet to test.
His multiversal travel.
The old man had never explicitly said that was sealed.
Closing his eyes, Kal reached deep into his being, searching for the thread of existence that connected him to the infinite beyond.
Faint. Weak.
But there.
His lips curled into a tiny smirk.
His ability to travel the multiverse was different from his divine power. It wasn't fully awakened… but it was stirring.
Like an ember, waiting to ignite.
If he pushed himself, tested his limits… he might be able to activate it fully as early as 15.
That was good to know.
For now, he had time.
But soon… the multiverse would be open to him.
A Mother's Call
Kal was still contemplating his discoveries when a voice pulled him back.
"Kal?"
The voice was soft, warm—motherly.
His surroundings shifted instantly.
The sky, the jungle, the rivers—all faded.
And just like that, he was back in his crib, staring up at the wooden ceiling of his bedroom.
The familiar scent of fresh linen and Martha's perfume filled the air, grounding him in this world once more.
Soft footsteps approached.
Martha.
She entered the room with a gentle smile, her presence filling the space with an almost angelic warmth. The golden glow of morning light framed her soft features, and as she leaned over the crib, her eyes radiated nothing but affection and care.
Kal let out a small breath.
This life.
This world.
It was only just beginning.
And soon, the entire multiverse would know his name.
