Chapter 64 - Special Chapter 3

From the perspective of Selena

A month after Eve and Mike's wedding

It's a really nice feeling when we sit at a big table in front of the café, talking and laughing. There are eight of us, including the newlyweds' daughter — Lily and Lucas' right-hand man — Sebastian. Although his company is embarrassing for Eve, my friend tries not to show that she's hiding something from her husband. None of us will say it, although there is one sarcastic person — Lucas. Well... no one counts on being friends with him, but the fact that he can go out with us, spend time with us, is already a big plus. It's definitely the influence of Hannah, with whom she is in a relationship.

I'm glad this strong woman was able to tame him.

Felix is holding my hand under the table, having spent some time discussing the last basketball game they watched with Mike. Lucas gives them a bored look, signaling that they should find something better to talk about.

- Brother-in-law, is something hurting? You're making strange faces - I say to him. He puts his cup on the saucer and smiles maliciously.

- Yes, it hurts me that you call me brother-in-law.

Hannah rolls her eyes, even though she's used to our constant teasing and arguing. There are only special occasions when we can talk normally. I doubt that will ever change. Lucas still clearly doesn't like me, but he accepts me because of his brother, so I'm the same towards him.

- You should be happy that I'm your sister-in-law. After all, you've known me since childhood. I even wanted to be friends with me once.

Our conversation draws the attention of everyone at the table. Felix gives his older brother an exasperated look, but he ignores it.

- Luckily, I had an angel watching over me who didn't let that happen. It's good that you left the school. It's just a shame that you reappeared in Felix's life shortly after, and, horror, in mine, too - Lucas says sarcastically.

- Do you guys always have to bring up the past? Can't you start living together? - asks Hannah. - Selena did many good things for Felix, she helped him get back on his feet, she helped him, she still does, so why are you still picking on her, Lucas? - The girl addresses her boyfriend directly. - They're engaged. You're family.

"That's because I don't have a mother and mother-in-law to vent my frustration on at the moment. I'm not going to vent it on you, honey," he says to Hannah, touching her cheek before turning his devilish eyes back to me. "A sister-in-law is perfect for arguing."

- If I disown you, you won't have a sister-in-law to vent your frustrations to - says Felix, making everyone around him laugh, except Lucas himself.

"Just try," he threatens, then looks at me again. "And you... little demon, finally write down my number. It pisses me off that every time you answer, you don't know who I am."

"Oh my, how come I keep forgetting to do this?" I ask, putting my hands over my mouth like an actor.

Felix rolls his eyes then turns to his brother.

- She's got your number saved. She's just faking it to annoy you. You don't want to know what the alias is.

"Lucas has Selena listed as 'Little Demon,' so what could be worse?" Hannah asks.

"That's cute," Eve murmurs before biting her tongue.

- True. He only pretends not to like me - I say. - Deep down, he's glad he has such a wonderful sister-in-law.

- I'll confirm when you tell me how you saved my number in your phone - Lucas says in a cold voice.

I look at everyone and then with an amused voice I announce:

- Do I really have to say this in front of everyone? Then you'll hate me.

- I won't let myself hate you anymore - he mutters.

- Okay, Mr. Bad Sperm.

Everyone bursts into hysterical laughter, including Lucas, who can't contain himself.

- I officially like you, "Little Demon." I like that nickname. I really am a "Rotten Sperm."

A car alarm sounds familiar. We all look towards the parking lot, realizing it's Sebastian's car. Furious, he stands up from his chair, clenching his fists in anger.

- I don't believe it. I just don't believe that someone hit my car again. It's some kind of fate, a curse... - he says and walks off in that direction.

We watch the situation with interest in our eyes, as a panicked young woman gets out of the car and starts apologizing. Sebastian shouts at her like he's possessed, and I can guess where his anger comes from when I realize I recognize that face. It's the same woman from before.

Wait, is this some kind of unfortunate fate?

"I'm proud of my boy. I hope he tears that woman apart," Lucas says with a smile, observing his right hand.

- It's the same woman from when Sebastian drove us to the clinic. Isn't that funny? - I say to Felix.

- Seriously? Is this the same woman? I don't remember her face very well...

- Yes! It's her! That's why Sebastian is so angry.

- Are you doing this deliberately?! - he shouts like a maniac, drawing people's attention to himself. The woman, on the other hand, is like a beaten puppy, looking at him with merciful eyes. - I can't believe such a coincidence! Back then it was a bumper, and now you've scratched my door! So much time has passed, and you still don't know how to drive! How the hell did you pass your driving test! - he shouts.

- Who would have thought that such a good boy would become such a monster in adulthood - Eve comments, to which Mike gives her an angry look. - What?

- Don't say that in my presence. I still remember what you had with him in high school.

- It wasn't even a relationship, come on.

I smile, looking at all the people around me. I am happy that I have them with me. Furthermore, I am happy that I have Felix with me – the love of my life.

I don't need much anymore to be completely happy.
