Chapter 1 - Introduction

Kim So-hee moved to another city with her mother. And honestly, their relationship with each other could be better. They moved because of Kim So-hee's mom's job. She was offered a job with a higher salary, but in another city, so they had to relocate.

Of course, Kim So-hee wasn't very happy about the news, but she had no choice. Mostly, she was upset because she wouldn't see her friend anymore. Although she understands that she will meet new people, Kim So-hee remained sad about it.

Once they moved, autumn came, and with it, high school. Was Kim So-hee nervous about the new school? "No." She went to school with the intention of making new friends. That's why she wasn't really worried. After all, she wasn't the only one starting at a new school.

On the very first day, she met Park Nuri. And now the two of them were inseparable. Kim So-hee and Park Nuri complemented each other. Even the teachers called them the "pair from the back" because they sat together by the window in the last row every break and always talked about something.

Several days passed since they met, and they were sitting in their usual spot, talking about what they would do during winter. It was barely the start of the school year, and Kim So-hee and Park Nuri were already making plans for the winter, since that's when the most holidays happen.

"I suggest we go ice skating," Kim So-hee said, looking at Park Nuri.

"No, no, no, no. I'm against it," Park Nuri replied.

"Why?"

Kim So-hee tilted her head with her hand.

"I don't know how to ice skate."

"Ah, I see..."

Park Nuri crossed her arms.

"Yeah, I don't know how. So, let's go somewhere else instead."

"Okay. Mmm... How about we just go shopping and then to my place?"

Park Nuri spread her arms and joyfully exclaimed.

"I love that idea! I'm in!"

Kim So-hee smiled a little and then turned her head away from Park Nuri.

"I knew you'd be in."

"Of course! By the way, will your mom mind?"

Kim So-hee looked at Park Nuri again.

"Ha! Her? Mind? She won't be home. So we can just hang out at my place."

"Why won't she be home?"

"She's always busy with work."

Kim So-hee spread her arms and closed her eyes.

"Plus, she even said that if I want to invite someone over when she's not home, I can do it freely and not worry."

"No way. So the whole house will be ours?"

Kim So-hee smirked.

"Yep."

Park Nuri raised her arms and shouted excitedly.

"Wooo! Awesome!"

"I know."

And, as always, at the most inconvenient moment, Lee Na-mi interrupted their conversation.

Since the first day of school, Lee Na-mi had started pestering Kim So-hee and Park Nuri. Why? No one knows. But mostly because her parents are rich. She and her friends bother not only Kim So-hee and Park Nuri but also their classmate. And if they bother Kim So-hee and Park Nuri rarely, they constantly bother their classmate, Han Yeon-won.

"Can you be quieter? You're not the only ones here!!" Lee Na-mi shouted.

Park Nuri immediately went silent and just looked at Kim So-hee.

"Now you're the one shouting," Kim So-hee said with a small smile.

"What did you say?!"

At that moment, the teacher entered the classroom.

"Everyone sit down! The lesson is starting."

Everyone in the class fell silent and began sitting down in their seats. And the lesson began.
