As early as four in the morning, Kaelis walked out of the staff's quarter, hands shoved into the pocket of his sweats.
He lifted his head to the dark sky, a soft breath fleeing his nose. He was just about to turn and walk back inside, but then something grabbed his attention.
Someone…leaving through the gate.
Huh? Who would be leaving the mansion at such an hour?
But then the person's frame came into his better view and he arched a brow, now even more confused. He was more than sure that it was Alexis. Where could he be going?
Walking back inside as quickly as he could, he slipped his feet into his sneakers and rushed out through the gate.
Alexis had yet to leave. She was standing in the middle of the road, stretching her body and hopping on her feet as if she were getting ready to go on a…run?
Kaelis furrowed his brows. Since when did he run?
