Reginald did not flinch at Cassius's sharp tone, though his expression grew more guarded. "I understand, Master, but I am afraid that is no longer an option."
Cassius's fingers curled slightly against the bedsheets. "Explain."
Reginald lowered his gaze momentarily before meeting his master's cold stare once more. "They are not simply arriving unannounced. They come with an escort—armed men bearing the family crest. Your brother does not intend to wait for your permission."
Cassius's jaw tightened. "That fool."
Reginald hesitated before continuing. "The servants are already unsettled. They do not know what to do."
Cassius exhaled sharply. His grip on the bed relaxing, but the irritation on his face remained evident. "How long until they arrive?"
"Less than an hour, Master."
Cassius was silent for a moment, his blue eyes colder than before. He had expected his brother to overstep at some point, but to arrive with such force was a declaration of arrogance.
