It was 7 in the morning when I woke up. I hadn't slept well all night and was dealing with a mild headache and a fever. As I sat at my dining table, my phone rang. It was Harsh, and my heart blossomed when I picked it up.
"Happy birthday, Saru!" he said. I replied, "You remembered?"
"Of course! How could I forget?" he responded. He then asked, "Did Abhimanyu call you?"
I replied, somewhat disappointed, "No, he must still be sleeping." "Oh, he asked me yesterday to join both of you for lunch," he said. I replied, "Yes, please arrive on time." ."Yeah, sure. Bye!" he said, and I hung up the call.
I started getting dressed for lunch and chose a simple off-white gown that featured floral embroidery. I didn't wear much makeup and left my hair down, knowing that Abhimanyu liked it that way. I thought I looked pretty good. I picked up my handbag and saw a message from Abhimanyu that said, "Hello, birthday girl! See you at Goodies Café. " It was an expensive café, but I was happy that I would finally be with Abhimanyu.
It was noon when I picked up a taxi and arrived at "Goodies Café." As I stepped inside, I saw Abhimanyu standing there with a large bouquet of red roses and a box of chocolates. I was surprised and mesmerized by the sight. With a big smile on his face, he said, "Happy birthday, Saru!" He handed me the flowers and chocolates and hugged me. I felt incredibly happy, but I struggled to express just how much love I was feeling.
Curious, I asked him, "How did you know that red roses are my favorite and that Ferrero Rocher in vanilla flavor is my favorite?" He glanced at Harsh, standing a little distance from us, and replied, "Harsh told me you would love this. I was confused about the gift, so he suggested this."
I looked at Harsh, noticing that he didn't seem happy. I thought he must be upset with me for missing the meeting with his friend. After that, Abhimanyu wrapped his arm around my waist and Whisper in my ear, "You look amazing." After hearing that, I felt a knot in my stomach, and my heartbeat increased. I just gave him a smile, and we moved towards the table that was already booked.
