Chapter 25 - The Unbelievable Return

Days have passed since Aziel's fall, and the city began its slow recovery. The people were freed from the darkness that had shadowed them, they all started to rebuild, unite, and see each other once again, and the air was lighter than it had been in years. But Vardy and his team knew better than to think the war was over.

The presence of the Dark Warlocks lingered like a shadow on the horizon. Despite Aziel's defeat, there were whispers of power far greater, a force that had been pulling the strings from the shadows for age's.

One evening, as the team gathered in their makeshift headquarters at Oak Academy, the familiar figure of Sly appeared on the horizon.

His silhouette was unmistakable, tall, confident, and exuding an aura of pure malevolence. His face was partially concealed by a hood, but his eyes gleamed with the same unyielding determination that had marked his every step since the beginning of this journey up till the moment.

"Sly," Vardy commanded, his voice filled with a mixture of anger and recognition. "You've come back. What gave you this zeal? What do you search for that you haven't seen yet? Why does your spirit keep on influencing you? Do what you're supposed to do then".

"Huh?", Ferah's eyes widen with what Vardys has said. Vardy! Are you okay? What are you saying? Are you giving in already?

Vardy whispered to Ferah, let's see what he wants to do first, aren't you surprised to still see him alive after he was being defeated? Ferah nodes in response, true. This is unbelievable though. Does the dark warlock have the power of also reframing them back to life?

Thought he was totally gone after the last fight? Still holding her sword with a lot of readiness to fight Sly till the end, aren't you getting tired of all this? Ferah looked at Vardy, who in turn had a Stern look at Sly with the question in his mind; How can this be?

Does it mean Aziel isn't dead and gone as well? Oh my goodness, he turned to Ferah once again, if Sly is still back to life, then Aziel isn't gone as well. Let's get ready for battle, Ferah said quietly to Vardy.

Sly's lips curled into a slow, amused smile. "Did you really think you could defeat the darkness so easily? Aziel was just a pawn, a mere distraction. The real game begins now."

Luthor's fists clenched. "I don't know how you keep surviving, but you won't last long this time."

Tracy stepped forward, her eyes narrowed. "You're not getting away again, Sly. We've dealt with your kind before, and we are ready to do it over and over again, even if it takes the world to end till we end you all."

But Sly only laughed, the sound echoing through the air. "You think this is a game? You've only just begun to see the true power of the Dark Warlocks. And now, I'll show you just how deep their reach truly is. It is nothing compared to whatever you all have all together, hope you already wrapped yourself for what is coming ahead cause it's nothing compared to the usual".

He still has the overall confidence in his power and whoever is giving him the strength to keep up with his dark amusement by fighting with Vardy, who's just only finding a way out for everything around him.

Vardy, hope you're ready for what is yet to come? Not just me, but every other dark warlock, who is ready to hunt you down if you still keep on refusing what is supposed to be, stop wasting time, stop giving your friend some false alarm; you are not going to last long with them, you only put their lives in more danger. Accept what is yet to come and be free from all this demise. Stop all your inferior thoughts of winning against the warlock.

Sly was ready to do whatever it takes to see Vardy give in, but it seems like a fallen order from his voice, cause nothing of his words could even get to Vardy or his friends. They already know how manipulating Sly can be. "Stop your nonsense now Sly, it's enough, you've done it all, put out whatever you want to put out let see, you said you came back for me right, now here I am, do to me what you want, don't be scared Sly, I won't fight it no more". Vardy is now using Sly against his own manipulating words. "Do it Sly".

Confused but ready to do whatever comes to his mind, he doesn't really care about Vardy or his friends, he just wanted to do it for his own satisfaction. Vardy, I feel like you're giving away so soon, come on, don't be tired, have got you, already falling Into Vardy's trap, he smiled, ready to pull his anguish.

This is going to be fun, with so much interest, he said to himself, and he started with the power already looming in him to clear them all away.

With a wave of his hand, the shadows seemed to move on their own, moving around him in a storm of dark energy. But Vardy wasn't about to back down. His staff crackled with what little power he had left, the faint glimmer of light still flickering inside him.

"You won't win this time, Sly", Vardy declared. His voice filled with resolve. "No matter what you throw at us. We still keep calm, signaling his friends to get ready, unknown to Sly". But Sly noticed something around them, they were not scared of him anymore, they surrender so easily, mostly Vardy, this wasn't the fight he wanted, not a type where he's not seen as a scary demon around them, he backed down, looked at all of them, and still try to scare them, but it was all a total waste.

He looked at Vardy and said to him, you aren't ready to fight now, I see.

I am ready to fight, but also ready to surrender…

Sly's smirk deepened. "We'll see about that."

He left in the shadow, are you sure it's really Sly or something else taking Sly's shadow? Tracy asked.

It's Sly Tracy, we've seen him before. We don't just know the game he's trying to play now.

In the days that followed, Vardy's team prepared for the inevitable battle. They knew that Sly's return meant a larger, more dangerous force was behind him. The fight against the Dark Warlocks had only just started, but this time, they would face it with unity, much stronger than ever.

And now, the battle line has been drawn.
