Chapter 32 - I Broke Storm

Storm stood in the middle of the field, her breath slow, controlled, her fingers twitching as the crackle of electricity danced between them. The storm above rumbled, dark clouds swirling at her command, the air thick with static. Across from her, Kara stood with an easy grin, completely relaxed, as if she wasn't about to face the full force of nature itself.

Storm's pupils dilated as she took in the Kryptonian's stance—effortless, untouchable, completely unaware of what she was about to experience. Her heart pounded in her chest, her fingers flexing, itching to let loose. This wasn't just a fight. This was fate. This was love.

"You sure you can handle this, Kara?" Storm called out, her voice smooth, tinged with anticipation.

Kara chuckled. "You're the one who should be asking that."

The others stood at the sidelines, watching the tension build. Natasha had her arms crossed, eyes narrowed, calculating. Gwen scowled, already annoyed. Wanda smirked, eyes glowing faintly with amusement. Rogue, hands tucked in her jacket pockets, watched Storm carefully, recognizing another predator circling their oblivious prize.

Storm inhaled deeply, then exhaled—and then she struck.

A blinding bolt of lightning tore from the sky, so fast, so powerful, that the air itself seemed to crack apart. It slammed into Kara with enough force to shatter the ground beneath her feet, a deafening explosion of light and sound rippling outward. The sheer magnitude of it sent shockwaves through the air, kicking up dust and static that danced across the battlefield.

Storm shuddered.

That feeling. That rush. That overwhelming surge of power flowing through her veins.

She had felt it before.

Every time she had vaporized someone, every time she had called down the heavens upon those unworthy of her mercy, she had felt this.

And now? Now it was happening again.

Her control over the storm intensified, her connection to the atmosphere sharpening to something near godlike clarity. Kara had taken her lightning—Kara had given her more power.

Storm licked her lips.

Oh, this changes everything.

The smoke cleared. The dust settled.

Kara stood in the same spot, completely unscathed. Not a single burn mark, not a single hair out of place. She rolled her shoulders, stretching slightly.

And then she grinned.

"That kinda tickled a bit."

Storm froze.

Her pulse roared in her ears.

Tickled? Tickled?!

No. No, this wasn't just endurance. This wasn't just strength. This was something else.

This was a declaration.

Storm felt something snap inside her, something electric and wild, something that had been lying dormant until this very moment. Kara had accepted her. Kara had embraced her storm.

She's mine. She just admitted it.

She raised her hands again, barely thinking as another bolt ripped through the air. And another. And another. Each one striking Kara, each one met with nothing but casual indifference.

And with every strike, Storm felt herself getting stronger.

Her fingers twitched. Her body tingled. This wasn't just about power anymore.

This was something deeper. This was intimacy.

The others watched in stunned silence. Natasha's fingers curled slightly, resisting the urge to intervene. Gwen clenched her fists, jaw tightening. Wanda grinned wider, eyes flickering as if reading the unfolding madness in Storm's mind. Rogue exhaled sharply through her nose.

Storm wasn't fighting to win.

She was falling deeper.

Kara tilted her head, finally stepping forward. "Alright, my turn."

Storm barely had time to react before Kara moved.

It wasn't a punch. It wasn't a kick.

It was a single, effortless tap to her forehead.

THUMP.

Storm hit the ground, vision spinning, body still crackling from the raw electricity running through her veins.

She stared up at Kara, her chest rising and falling quickly, her hands twitching at her sides. She felt stronger than ever.

But more than that?

She had never been more obsessed.

Kara had taken her best shot.

And she had smiled.

This wasn't a loss.

This was confirmation.

Kara was hers.

She just… didn't realize it yet.

Kara extended a hand down, smiling warmly. "Good match!"

Storm didn't take it.

She just lay there, staring, breathing heavily, shaking with exhilaration.

Natasha finally sighed, stepping forward. "That's enough for today."

Gwen ran a hand through her hair, muttering, "Fantastic. Another lunatic."

Wanda chuckled, floating lazily above the ground. "Oh, she's gonna be fun."

Rogue remained quiet, her mind already working.

Kara, still blissfully unaware, turned to the others, hands on her hips. "So! Who's next?"

Silence.

Natasha. Gwen. Wanda. Rogue.

All of them shared the same thought.

They were completely screwed.

Meanwhile, still lying on the ground, Storm watched Kara's retreating figure, her lips curling into a slow, manic smile.

Her fingers trembled as she flexed them, feeling the absolute surge of power rushing through her system.

She licked her lips, eyes dark with hunger.

She took my lightning. She took my best shot. And she smiled.

She shuddered, barely containing the sheer need clawing at her chest.

She's mine. Kara has accepted my declaration of love now I can be with her in both body and even more importantly in energy unified as eternal lovers she is the thunder and I am her lighting.
