Kara stretched as she leaned back on her couch, watching Rogue zip up her boots and sling her bag over her shoulder. "You sure you don't want me to just teleport you straight to class? Would save you some time."
Rogue smirked, adjusting her gloves. "Nah, I can walk. Ain't tryin' to get too lazy. But keep the teleport offer open for when I sleep in."
Kara chuckled. "Deal." With a snap of her fingers, Rogue vanished in a blink, her presence instantly relocated to Xavier's School.
Natasha, leaning against the counter, raised an eyebrow. "You know, I don't think you ever actually invited Gwen and Wanda to live here. They just... never left."
Kara blinked. "Huh. Yeah. That happened, didn't it?" She thought about it for a second, then shrugged. "I mean, it's fine. I like having everyone around."
Gwen, flipping through a book at the table, didn't even look up. "You say that now, but if I hear you complain about the fridge being empty one more time, I'm gonna start rationing food."
Wanda grinned from the couch. "I'll just magic more pizza. Problem solved."
Natasha sighed, rubbing her temple. "That's not how grocery shopping works."
Kara laughed, shaking her head. "You guys are the best." She stood up, stretching her arms. "Anyway, I'm heading back to Xavier's to mess around with Storm for a bit while Rogue's at school. Anyone wanna come?"
Natasha gave her a knowing look. "Mess around?"
Kara grinned. "You know. Hang out. Chill. Maybe get zapped a little."
Wanda leaned back, amused. "Oh, I think Storm's the one getting shocked here."
Kara rolled her eyes but didn't argue. A second later, she teleported, appearing back at Xavier's School just outside the training grounds. The moment she arrived, she heard the unmistakable crackle of lightning.
Storm, mid-air, was sparring with one of the younger mutants, casually dodging attacks while bolts of electricity danced between her fingers. The moment she spotted Kara, her concentration slipped—just for a second. A telekinetic blast shot toward her from her opponent, but Storm barely turned her head, flipping midair and dispersing it with a gust of wind.
She landed smoothly, her gaze locked onto Kara, eyes sparking. "Didn't expect you back so soon."
Kara shrugged. "Thought I'd drop by. Figured you'd be here, frying students or something."
Storm smirked. "Only the ones who need a wake-up call."
Kara grinned, stepping onto the field. "So, do I get a tour today, or are you gonna try to zap me again?"
Storm's smirk widened. "Why not both?"
Over the next hour, Storm led Kara through different parts of the school—classrooms, training areas, even the underground sections meant for advanced simulations. Kara took it all in with interest, casually comparing it to the Justice League's facilities.
"You guys got some good tech here," she admitted, hands on her hips.
Storm nodded. "We've had our fair share of battles. Gotta keep up with the times."
As they walked, Storm couldn't help but glance at Kara, her mind replaying their fight. The way Kara had shrugged off her lightning, how she had barely even reacted to the strongest bolts Storm could summon. It was intoxicating.
She needed more.
Needed an excuse.
An opportunity.
And then, just like that, it clicked.
"So," she said casually, flicking a small spark between her fingers. "You liked the lightning, huh?"
Kara gave her a sideways look. "Yeah, it was fun. Why?"
Storm grinned. "You know, controlled lightning can actually be really good for muscle tension. Sorta like a massage."
Kara blinked. "Wait, what?"
Storm kept her expression perfectly neutral. "Yeah. Helps with circulation, loosens up tight muscles. If you ever need a personal masseuse, I could help you out." She shrugged, acting nonchalant. "All I'd have to do is strike you with lightning a couple dozen times."
Kara stared at her for a moment, then grinned. "Oh, that actually sounds awesome. You wanna move in and do that?"
Storm almost lost composure right then and there.
It was too easy.
She kept her smirk controlled, nodding smoothly. "Yeah. I could do that."
Kara clapped her on the back. "Great! You're in."
Storm took a deep breath, hiding her inner victory.
This was happening.
She was moving in.
The storm was finally settling where it belonged—right next to Kara.
Later that evening, when Kara brought Storm home, Natasha didn't even bother looking surprised. She simply exhaled, giving Kara a knowing look. "Let me guess. Another stray?"
Kara grinned. "Storm's got a thing called 'lightning massages.' She's gonna be my personal masseuse."
Natasha pinched the bridge of her nose. "Of course she is."
Gwen sighed dramatically. "This is getting ridiculous."
Wanda, sitting on the couch with a slice of pizza, chuckled. "It was always ridiculous."
Storm, casually dropping her bag by the door, smirked. "Don't worry. I'm good at sharing."
Natasha muttered something under her breath before walking off.
Kara, already eager to test her new personal masseuse, plopped onto the couch. "Alright, let's see what you got."
Storm sat beside her, rolling her shoulders. "You sure? It's a bit intense."
Kara raised an eyebrow. "Please. I tanked your best shot in the fight."
Storm smirked, her fingers sparking. "Fair enough."
She lifted her hands, letting the energy build before gently channeling controlled bursts of lightning into Kara's back. The Kryptonian hummed in approval, her body relaxing under the current.
Storm felt everything in that moment. The connection. The power. The proof that Kara was hers to touch, to strike, to claim.
And then, the best part.
She felt stronger.
The moment the electricity connected with Kara, something in Storm's core surged. A rush of raw energy pulsed through her veins, amplifying her storm sense, making the air around her hum.
She had felt this before—after striking sacrifices in the past.
But this? This was different.
Kara was different.
Kara tilted her head back. "Damn, that feels great."
Storm's fingers twitched. "Yeah. I bet."
The others in the room—Natasha, Gwen, Wanda—all took silent note of what just happened.
Storm wasn't just playing games.
She was growing stronger.
And that made her an even bigger threat.
