Lyra covered her ears as the howling grew unbearable. Just when she thought she couldn't take it anymore, her eyes caught sight of something. A shadow large enough to resemble a wolf. But within seconds, it shifted into a human figure, swiftly leaping onto the balcony and disappearing into Casian's room.
Her breath hitched. 'What's wrong with him? Should I check on him?' Her gaze fixed on the deep, bleeding wound marring his body. She hesitated, knowing it wasn't wise to step in when Casian was at the peak of his rut.
Yet, her heart clenched. Concern gnawed at her, warring with reason.
Lyra glanced up at the sky, watching as the clouds drifted over the moon. 'Is this a sign?' She wondered, unaware that the darkness was fleeting. Without a second thought, she stormed out of her room, oblivious to the fact that the clouds had already shifted, leaving the full moon glowing in the night sky.
