Chapter 39 - The Creation of Aspect.

Norris, an accomplished necromancer with a deep understanding of arcane magic, embarked on his most ambitious project yet—creating an artificial soul (AI) companion. His primary purpose was to form a mind network capable of blocking attacks, hypnosis, and high-dimensional assimilation.

Additionally, Norris aims to create a creature with high computing power. This can help him better micromanage the battle field. Well this idea was gotten from Iron Man and Jarvis in the avengers series of movies from his previous life.

First things first, let's be prepared. No matter how strong one be, one can never be too sure for rituals. Things involving high dimensions should never be taking lightly. Norris took out his infinitepad.

This magical treasure was Norris attempt at creating Google in the otherworld. It was overwhelmingly successful. Magic is all about ideas. With ideas you can always find a way, at least this is current Norris train of thought. Who knows about the future?….Except for the god of time himself.

Norris tapped the glassy surface of his infinitepad, its rune-etched interface flickering as he input keywords. "Mindmetal purification thresholds," "ectoplasmic resonance decay," "Void Sapphire lattice stability," "Kessari ectoplasm anomalies,". The pad hummed, cross-referencing information stored in it.

Norris had spent his time in the library of the academy while it was still free for him as a student. He had used that time to fill it up with everything he could see, useful and useless. It might not have much for Necromancy. Necromancy is relatively niche in the material plane. But it sure has loads of information.

Norris thoughts about his time in the academy was interrupted as a holographic scroll materialized. Norris eyes narrowed as he began reading, "let's see here. I'm going to recheck the materials. And their specifications. Don't wanna miss out on something, creating a weakness for the artificial soul."

Norris started reading about the materials. Unlike every project he had done before, this was by far the hardest so far. It also came with higher risk. This inturn also made him increase the level of risk management.

"Hmmm! Ohh! I see! After reading all this technical jargons, I can basically summarise mind metal. It is basically an alloy of magic metal that can react to thoughts. Thoughts, in turn, can easily affect the shape of the metal. I knew this already but now I'm sure .

Next material is pure Ectoplasm, soul essence extracted from a spiritual plane or a soul….extracting from a soul? this is sick. A spiritual plane is a plane with consciousness dominating, energy coming second and matter dead last or maybe none at all".

Norris reading this sat straight, his soul flame started flickering in excitement. "Why didn't I think of this? if I could connect my network there, doesn't it mean I can use it to pass information faster than I ever thought of? This will make it even better than I ever imagined. If I didn't read this book I wouldn't have thought of it. Sure enough, reading is the best".

Norris briefly felt joy even in his undead form, this only last a moment before it goes away and he became calmer. "Well let's leave that for later. Moving on, the next material; Void sapphires. That's the brain of the artificial soul. Using the soul to think is very inefficient. The undead, is a kind of failed evolution from the start, from my perspective. Unless of course I can't see the more complex stuff.

Maybe having a structure like a brain could make it more like a life. I don't really know".Norris wasn't so sure though about his guess.

While reading, he discovered something he hadn't known. Norris in pleasant surprise, read ," thankfully I rechecked. Didn't know that the material is a lactic structure. With a lactic structure, it is weak against blunt damage. It is also weak against rotational attacks attacks. Well, I guess my new friend is going to need a skull of his own, or his brain's gonna be mush..or something."

"Keissari ectoplasm", Norris looked at this stuff with mixed reaction. "I really don't want to use this stuff but it's necessary. It gives my artificial soul; curiosity. This will be one of it's core trait. As a natural born trait, I think this is good. It will make it progress like a mage. Don't wanna do too much. That's enough. It will gain every other thing as it grows.

Now let's see. The Keissari Ectoplasm. The essence of a civilization that perished because they were too curious for their own good. This stuff was cheap as he…dirt." Norris stopped himself from saying hell since it was a dimension.

"So I bought it though only a little is going to be used. Ah! what's this?", Norris was happy as he began looking at something that could really help him, the Echoing balancing system. Jointly created by The Mysteriously Lady herself and some other gods to help mages protect themselves during the creation. This is in case their creation goes crazy.

"Yea! right! More like using it monitor the mages and their danger to the world. Even the gods knows mortals death seeking attitude. T virus in the otherworld would be crazy". Norris was complaining and deriding the gods emotionally but that didn't stop him from reading the information. He didn't say he didn't want to be monitored. Come on, it comes with free protection. Moreover, most likely they won't monitor it manually, only using magic to detect if it's dangerous before leaving or deciding to protect before leaving.

Norris once again tapped the glassy surface of his infinitepad, inputing keywords. "How to do a proper ritual," "Dos and don'ts of ritual," "know how's,". The pad hummed, cross-referencing information stored in it. Rituals are ceremonies holding mystical meanings to tap into high dimension essence. A whole page dedicated to detailing the risks of the ritual: Inversion of Intent, where the outcome could be twisted and malevolent by malicious divine beings; Energy Overload, where the magical buildup could spiral out of control; and Corruption of the Vessel, where my own body and mind could be compromised.

Another page also included basic ways to counter these dangers, I would need to take specific precautions: Purifying the ritual space, Sealing the circle to contain the energy, and Invoking protective wards to safeguard against hostile forces. The weight of these risks settled in, and Norris wondered if he was truly prepared to proceed.
