"Right now, I can't guess what will be the third node. With my style of staying out of trouble, I don't think there's anything I would do that would be life changing.
This makes the third mode is most likely going to be the final node", Norris reviewed his situation to his creation.
"I kind of understand the legendary realm now. If mortal magic is using idea and knowledge to affect their surroundings through energy as a medium.
Then the higher realm of idea is turn it into a concept. It becomes a part of reality, abstract or concrete.
The Ascension of Divinity is based on embodying this concepts. Divinity is based on this? Fascinating.", Norris though not recieving a reply from his creation, continued to talk to himself.
It's a way to relieve pressure after all.
"My memories Scape embodies a whole civilization... at least my impression, based on their summarization of the universe. It's also connected to the dream realm making it part of reality though still abstract.
These gave me the advantage to even survive. Too defeat the entity? that is impossible. I'm too weak. And my memory scape is ultimately rootless duckweed, illusionary.", Norris begins collapsing in on himself.
The memory scape dimming slightly as it shows the reflection of it's owner. Norris looks around and ignored it.
He knew that belief should be a way for abstract concepts to survive and his rational belief outlook was not helping. This made the memory scape dim.
He envied people who are always optimistic.
"Based on the entities action he should embody 'Chaos Veil Interception'. Using chaos to cover the ritual and intercept it.
Am I wrong? doesn't really matter. I'll die either way.
honestly", Norris just look into the air, frustrated and exhausted.
"sigh!", Norris just gave up thinking.
Nothing he could do to increase his odd of winning. Analyzing this situation further, he might collapse internally from despair.
He wasn't thinking about winning anyway. He was just being petty. Trying to cause the enemy some pain instead of going out just like this.
Now, what he's doing is redundant. His thoughts and analysis were getting in the way. To combat this, Norris was decisive.
Norris resolutely entered the portal. Looking at the portal, he chuckled. Guess the entity too, a chaos creature, found portal convenient. Using portals to represent an entrance to the unknown.
The entity, surprisingly revealed itself. Norris looked on at the human male. Blood red hair, blood red eyes, a face too symmetrical, eyes too still, skin faintly lit like wax under firelight.
Apart from his face which felt more uncanny the more you like at it, he was surprisingly normal. Yet its presence prickled with a primordial dread,
Norris looked at it....or a him? His instinct screamed that whatever was there was anything but human.
The entity looked at him with interest like a boy looking at his toy car. The car was supposed to go in a straight route. But instead it went in a curve. It's like discovering a new world!. Should he break it and see why? Or should he continue to play and find the reason.
Norris was filled with dread. He hurriedly cut of his thoughts. He never felt more fragile.
He was suddenly thrown off guard. Norris crashed into the floor, how that is possible? He doesn't know but it happened.
Norris knew that the battle had begun. Norris fired a shot from the tank. It went on to hit the entity.
The entity flickered a little, like a hologram before stabilizing. Norris seeing this, began preparing for a brutal counter attack.
Then he heard the entity spoke. Its voice was smooth, almost melodic, and unsettlingly polite.
"Ah, Norris. Forgive the intrusion. I've been… admiring your work for a while."
Norris froze. The civility was worse than a crazy entity. Norris took a deep breath and began preparing to shoot the railgun.
"Ah. Forgive me but we can't have you doing this. Let's have a chat between friends. Sit around.I know much of you than you might know yourself". The entity spoke as it manipulated gravity to be chaotic.
Norris found himself floating chaotically. Strangely enough he was always in a sitting position stable without feeling the effects of gravity... though he doubts he would feel anything.
Norris looked at himself flying around in a sitting position. Nothing could be done. He could only listen to the entity speak.
"From your memory I can see that you were like a normal child till the age of six, then you changed. You started looking at this world through the lens of an adult.
Fascinating isn't it? Like the blessed of some divine being. But the hateful thing is your way of doing things. It irks me to be honest. Too orderly.
There's always a cause and a effect. Something can't come out of nothing.
Too orderly. Why can't you just conjure something out of mana. It works. But no, you don't think so.
One would think you're related to those Aeons but no you're not....."
Norris listening suddenly got an idea. He started thinking with belief, the rules of gravity from earth; "9.8 m/s²". The gravity stabilized. And Norris was free from the sitting position that doesn't conform to the laws.
"Clap! Clap! clap!", Norris heard the entity clap while commenting on his action. "Now that's amazing. A mortal undoing the effect, I felt a hint of concept here. You didn't use your energy. Are you reserving it for something. Interesting. I'd love to see what you can do."
Norris look up at the entity and saw genuine curiosity. With no sense of danger at all. At that moment, Norris while feeling dread, was ecstatic. His plan might go well. He also felt panic?? What if all this doesn't go well.
Norris mood though was reflected. The memory scape he had conquered were reinforced shakily.
Norris looked at the entity. His body's mental energy running low, he didn't know what to do. He just went with the flow looking for an opportune time. The entity suddenly lunged at him.
It conjured bones out of thin air, with the smell of death building a cage. Norris is sure that this felt like the death realm.
"So while intercepting the invocation, it can also steal power from the higher power. Of course it could be more than what I see".
Norris commented on it. He just became an audience to this one man show. As for him? Don't joke around. He's just a tool here. Norris, trying the effect of belief while really believing so. Didn't do much though.
He looked up and saw that cage had been built. For what? Well, for him. Unfortunately.
"Let's see", Norris saw the entity speaking and observing him. He suddenly had an ominous feeling.
