"You feel like you should know her?" Ashley repeated what Xavier had said with furrowed eyebrows.
"That sounds..."
"Ridiculous, right? I know." Xavier completed for her and she nodded, looking at him skeptically.
Xavier let out a dry chuckle and shook his head.
"Let's just say I didn't know what I was saying." He said, dismissing the subject, even though there was a lingering feeling in his brain concerning the stranger.
"So, tell me why you decided to get latte today?"
Ashley looked down at the coffee she was holding and sighed.
"How would I tell you that I ordered it absentmindedly because I was worried about you? And that I actually wasn't in the mood for coffee but came hoping I would meet you there?" She thought to herself.
"Ashley...?" Xavier called out to her after a moment of silence. She looked up at him and pressed her lips into a thin line.
