Third person's POV
Ashley stood frozen with her eyes wide opened.
Slowly, her trembling hand touched the warm, sticky blood on her face. Her eyes widened in horror as she confirmed it was real.
Xavier, however, recovered quickly as if nothing had happened. He simply turned away from her, heading toward his desk.
"Xavier! We need to get you to a hospital right now!" Ashley said, grabbing his arm firmly.
Xavier whirled around, his eyes flashing with unexpected anger. He yanked his arm from her grip.
"Leave me the hell alone, Ashley! You are being such a bother!" He shouted.
Ashley stepped back, stunned by his outburst. In all the years she had known him, since they were young at the orphanage home, he had never spoken to her like that.
"I need to write the next chapter if I don't want to lose my life." He muttered, so quietly that Ashley couldn't make out the words.
"What did you say?" She asked, still shocked by his behavior.
