The enrollment day for every fifteen years old teens has come.
Knowing this, Aziel didn't bother to leave his spear in the woods, and brought it with him.
They were picked up by carriage that sends them directly into the Kingdoms Academy located in the Capital.
"Aziel, I can't believe they let you come along. I thought they only allow kids with magic? Did you let in yourself inside the carriage without letting the guards know that you don't have power? Poor kid. And you even bother bringing a fake looking spear, what could that do against magic?
All of Aziel's "Friends" inside the carriage burst out laughing.
In response, Aziel points Magi to the aggressors face with a menacing look.
"Why not find it out yourself?"
"Fighting isn't allowed during your travel! Save it when you reach the Academy, there you will have all the time you need and fight all you want!"
The guard driving the carriage announced.
Aziel retracted his spear from his aggressor's paling face
"So you're a spear, huh, Magi?"
Aziel thought as he watch his weapon before turning his focus to the mountains from the horizon.
All those years of training with his weapon and yet he didn't know what kind of weapon he's using.
After a whole day of travelling, they reach the Kingdom's Academy, where their aptitude for magic has to be measured by a crystal ball first before enrolling into the Academy.
This magic measuring system was established by every academy so that they would know early who are the best candidates and has great potential in winning the tournament.
A lot of people came to watch the evaluation, and most of them were seniors as they also want to know who they may face in fighting for the slot to join the tournament.
When it was Aziel's turn to be evaluated, he was so nervous that he could only hear nothing but the loud beat of his heart.
He put his hand in the crystal ball as instructed, and the evaluator began the evaluation process.
However, the evaluator burst out laughing when found out that Aziel doesn't have any magic powers, even the slightest.
He wanted to disappear after finding out the truth twice, and it was being broadcasted to the world this time.
The news spread like wildfire throughout the campus, and he was named as "Cripple".
Although he was still admitted to the Academy, Aziel was discriminated because of the fact that he has no magic, and most people see him as garbage.
The strong bullies the weak, but they couldn't really hurt Aziel, as he possessed a great, strong physic, could move fast, and with him his golden spear that he is so proficient in using.
During their mock tournaments held by every class, Aziel would display how proficient he is in using his weapon, and he would always rank in the middle of his class.
However, it wasn't enough to stop the discriminations, and bullying towards him.
One of the bullies were named Jason Rebi, he is the third strongest magic caster in his batch which uses blue fire magic. He is also the third son of a high ranking noble in the Kingdom, and the younger brother of the champion from the recently held tournament of magic, which is why he has a big head.
He saw the evaluation of Aziel, and Jason ridicules him starting from that time.
"Hey cripple, training again so soon? You have all this energy and yet you're still weak."
"I would worry about myself if I were you. You might have magic but that's it, from what I can see, between you and me, you're weaker. And I don't even know who you are."
Aziel feels indifferent towards Jason as he was focusing on improving himself for his future.
"Oh really? We'll see about that crippled one."
Every time Aziel minds his own training in private, Jason would always disturb him with provocations. And whenever Aziel talks back at him, he always ends it by casting fire ball and shoots it towards Aziel.
Aziel easily dodged the attack and when he was about to fight back, Jason takes his leave with a smug face looking down at Aziel.
"I have no time for his little games."
Aziel shakes the dust from his clothes and resumes his training.
Because he lacks magic and being discriminated, Aziel doesn't have friends anymore as all of them turned their backs on him.
He became lonely in the Academy that the only one he could talk to was his spear, Magi.
However, this loneliness that he felt was used as an inspiration to keep going with his training.
In the process, Aziel became stronger and stronger, and it was shown in their mock tournament where he became one of the top ten students.
However, this achievement wasn't important to Aziel, as he only participate in it to know where his current strength lies.
But the same thing couldn't be said in Jason's group of bullies. This achievement of Aziel was making everyone around him annoyed.
"How is that possible!?"
"How can that be!? Isn't he a cripple!?"
Jason's group exclaimed because they were irritated by the result. And now they feel intimidated by Aziel, which Jason really hate. So, they plan to cripple Aziel for real by breaking his limbs.
They only need a perfect timing to make their evil plan towards Aziel work.
"For the next week, everyone from this class will be going into the woods to train, and fight against beast."
The Academy's instructors announced to everyone after their mock tournament's result.
Jason's group had a big smile on their faces after hearing the announcement.
"Boys, it seems like fate is with us, as the perfect time to initiate the plan has come earlier than expected."
"You will be gone for six nights, and seven days to train in the woods. Be sure to survive there and get back here with an intact body! Now, prepare your luggage and rest for the day because you'll be going early in the morning tomorrow! Dismissed!"
The instructor finished his announcement and takes his leave.
Everyone celebrates for different reasons, some were happy because they can take a break from the Academy, others were happy because it was their first time camping. But, Jason's group were celebrating because of their evil plan.
After hearing the announcement that everyone must come to the camping tour, Aziel was overjoyed.
The thought of having to venture into the wild again made him smile.
Ever since he was admitted to the Academy, he hasn't been able to go outside as it because it was forbidden from the Academy to go outside without permission or a professor accompanying him, and asking for an exemption wasn't the best idea as well.
"I really missed going into the woods, the fresh air, the environment that was very far from here, and the adventures. I missed the adventures. I missed them all."
Aziel was sitting in a bench talking to himself, and a soft smile appeared on his young handsome face when he thought about the adventures he could experience once again after a long time.
His expression was seen by a young pretty girl walking by, she was with her two friends. She found Aziel's smile appealing and attractive.
"What's his name?"
The girl asked her friends whispering.
"People were calling him cripple or something. But I think his real name was Aziel."
"Aziel. He has an unusual name, don't you think?"
The girl smiled and walk towards Aziel.
Aziel, who had all of his senses heightened after his constant training heard everything. This made his mood foul, then he took his leave.
"Ah!"
The girl was about to call Aziel when her friends stop her.
"Don't go near him, you'll just get yourself in trouble. 'Sigh' what a shame, he was kind of cute."
One of the girl's friends exhaled in disappointment.
"Why? Why would going near someone hurt me?"
The girl asked her friends.
"Aziel doesn't have magic, and he was at the center of the storm right now. I heard Jason really hated him for his guts, as the only student who have no powers, yet manage to climb up to the top ten. So, you better listen to us Sabrina, don't go near him and stay out of trouble."
Sabrina's friends warned her.
Sabrina Snow a noble like Jason Rebi. But unlike Jason's family, Sabrina's family is considered as a low ranking noble. Her father is just a merchant but her mother is a mage who serve the palace before giving birth to her. Even though her family was a low ranking noble, she still has a great magic potential and she was ranked second strongest magic user in their batch.
"He's in the top ten? Why haven't I seen him?"
"Yes, he just recently climbed the ladder for the top students."
Although Aziel became one of the top ten students during the last mock tournament, Sabrina hasn't seen him yet as Aziel always take his leave quickly after his every battles. This made her even more curious towards Aziel, however, Sabrina didn't know it yet but she was being pulled towards Aziel, as she became more curious about him.
