Chapter 67 - Bad News? Good News!

No sooner said than done—after all, there was nothing to lose.

Even if she couldn't obtain the power of the Wish Shenron, she could at least gain a huge amount of dragon factors from the dragon soul.

"Receive!"

Moss activated Receive Magic, and the dragon soul fused into her palm like a fish diving into water.

She immediately turned her attention to the panel's evolution paths.

As expected, the evolution chances for all dragon-type Digimon skyrocketed!

[Holy Dragonmon: 83%]

The amount of dragon factor was over ten times greater than that of the seven talismans combined! After all, the seven talismans only carried the Holy Lord's magic, and each had its own function—they merely carried dragon factors as a byproduct, and not in great quantity.

But the soul of the Wish Shenron was different. It was a complete dragon soul, equivalent to the Holy Lord's soul or a demon's demonic aura—an aura strong enough to directly turn people into demons!

Of course, the Wish Shenron's soul wasn't demonic aura, so whether it could transform someone into a Shenron was another matter entirely.

What Moss now wanted to verify… was the power of wish-making.

She focused herself and murmured, "Full-body receive: Wish Shenron's soul!"

Boom—In that instant, thunder and lightning tore across the sky above the Celestial Temple.

The Shenron had appeared, and celestial phenomena responded!

Whether in daylight or nighttime zones, the entire Earth was suddenly shrouded in darkness, as if the sky were cloaked in black fabric.

The remaining people had no idea what was happening. Terrified, they assumed a new demon had emerged and fled into their homes.

Only a few, such as Bulma, knew what was really going on.

Having used the Dragon Balls multiple times, she immediately recognized the phenomenon as a sign of Shenron's summoning.

"How could this be…"

Bulma was stunned, staring at the sky in disbelief.

Because Earth's Dragon Balls had long been deactivated and turned into mere stones, there should've been no way to summon Shenron.

But the darkened sky meant that Shenron had returned!

Bulma immediately thought of that angelic girl from another world—Moss.

Was it her?

"How… how did she do it? And it's only been just over an hour…"

When she gave Moss the location of Korin Tower, Bulma never imagined she could actually accomplish anything. She'd even pictured Moss returning the next day looking dejected.

It wasn't that she didn't hope for Moss to succeed—it was just that, deep down, she didn't believe it was possible.

But the facts stunned and delighted her.

Shenron was back. Hope had returned!

"Moss… you're a savior!"

Bulma quickly brought out the cryogenic capsule containing Trunks' body, waiting with great anticipation.

Trunks could be saved!

Meanwhile, in the Celestial Temple's storage area—

Having received the Wish Shenron's soul, Moss underwent a dramatic transformation.

Though it was her first time receiving a soul outside of Digimon, she didn't become a multi-hundred-meter-long Shenron. Instead, her appearance remained based on Angewomon, now enhanced with Shenron traits.

First, she grew dragon horns on her head. The left eye—formerly blue and only visible due to her mask breaking—turned red, sparkling like a ruby.

Then green dragon scales spread over her right arm up to the elbow, and over her right leg up to the thigh strap.

The change was asymmetrical, but Angewomon's clothing was already asymmetrical: less fabric on the left, more on the right. The dragon scales reversed this—more scales on the right, balancing perfectly with the left's fabric.

The thickness of the scales matched her outfit's material, making them look from a distance like long green gloves and thigh-high socks.

Her fingernails and toenails became dragon claws, her heels shifted into open-toe designs to accommodate the changes, and her gloved left hand stubbornly remained, covering a now clawed hand—making it look like a white dragon claw.

Lastly, a slender green dragon tail extended behind her, its dorsal fin running along the spine up to the back of her neck, covering her back.

"There's a wild kind of beauty to this."

Moss glanced down at her transformed form, picked up a lock of her hair, and muttered, "This stuff actually turned green?"

She'd received many Digimon souls before, and while her outfit always changed, her golden hair had never once altered—at most, she'd gotten a new hairstyle.

This time, even the color changed.

As expected of the Wish Shenron's soul—truly extraordinary!

"Good thing I didn't grow a beard." She touched her lips and relaxed.

The appearance was secondary—what mattered was the power within.

She attuned herself to the soul's energy and immediately felt all-powerful, as if nothing were beyond her grasp.

Of course, that was an illusion.

In the source material, Earth's Shenron was the weakest among the dragon gods. Powerful, yes, but far from omnipotent.

So the soul Moss received couldn't possibly make her all-powerful either.

Still, that illusion of omnipotence meant one thing—she had successfully acquired wish-making power through the reception of the Wish Shenron's soul!

"Hard to tell if this is just Receive Magic… or the panel's help," Moss thought. As a transmigrator with a panel system, a little cheat here and there was expected. But those details didn't matter—what mattered was the wish.

She was both the wisher and the Wish Shenron. She could grant her own wishes.

Though she wanted to heal her damaged Digi-Core, the Dog Talisman's immortality made even fatal injuries negligible.

That could wait—there were more pressing matters.

"I wish for the fallen warriors to be revived!"

——Impossible.

A sense of limitation filled her mind.

"Huh?" Moss blinked.

Resurrecting the dead was basic stuff for any Shenron. Even if this was the weakest version, it shouldn't be impossible.

Then the answer hit her.

Shenron's power was limited by its creator's capabilities. The Namekians called this the "Dragon Clan Talent."

The stronger the creator's talent, the stronger the Dragon Balls.

And Moss...

She had pulled off an impossible stunt and hijacked the soul of the Wish Shenron—basically taking over the role of the creator.

This made the strength of the wish power dependent on her—but she wasn't Namekian, had no Namekian blood, and certainly no Dragon Clan talent.

"In other words, the Wish Shenron became weaker because of me…"

Moss rubbed her forehead in frustration.

In the source, Dende had once upgraded Earth's Shenron to grant three wishes instead of one.

And now here she was—downgrading it!

This was basically the world saying: You're weak!

To be fair, it was due to her lacking Dragon Clan talent.

Moss sighed, "Is a Shenron who can't resurrect the dead still a real Shenron?"

Angewomon sensed the same cause and tried to comfort her: "It's not your fault."

Moss chuckled, "Of course it's not my fault. It's not the Shenron's fault either. If you're gonna blame someone, blame... Dr. Gero."

"Eh?" Angewomon blinked.

Who's Dr. Gero?

Moss said, "It's all because Dr. Gero made two evil androids. They killed Piccolo, which killed Kami, which made Shenron disappear for over 20 years."

So obviously, it was all Dr. Gero's fault! What, was it her fault instead?

Angewomon smiled helplessly. Not wallowing in guilt—maybe that was a good thing.

After a few more choice words for Gero, Moss paused and said, "I wish for Earth's environment to be restored to what it was before the androids destroyed it."

——Impossible.

Moss fell silent again.

Just what could this Shenron do?

She cursed Dr. Gero again and casually added, "I wish to speak with the Namekians."

——That's too easy.

"Huh?"

Moss blinked. That was considered easy?

New Namek was light-years away—communicating with it shouldn't be simple.

After some thought, she just marveled at the power of wish-making—more miraculous than Digivolution.

Wishes to Shenron were either impossibly easy… or just plain impossible.

Whoosh!Red light flared in her eyes as she sensed a surge of power from the Wish Shenron's soul heading toward her newly made wish.

After about a minute, she felt a rush of insight and said, "Namekians, can you hear me?"

"Who is that?!""Who are you?"

Voices of shock echoed in her ears.

Moss found it noisy and said, "Quiet. Let your Grand Elder speak."

The Grand Elder of New Namek was named Moori. He signaled the others to calm down and looked to the sky, asking, "Who are you, stranger?"

Moss didn't mince words: "I'm from Earth. Earth is now a wasteland. I hope you'll use your Dragon Balls to restore it."

"What?!" Moori and the other Namekians were stunned.

They had lived on Earth for a while after old Namek exploded. It was a beautiful world, protected by Son Goku and backed by Earth's Dragon Balls—how could it have become a wasteland?

Moori asked, "What happened to Earth?"

Moss knew they might not believe her and continued, "You can use your Dragon Balls to check Earth's current state—or review its past twenty years… Then, please, revive the dead and restore the planet. Can you?"

Moori said, "If what you say is true, we will help Earth without question."

Hearing that, Moss felt at ease.

If even the Namekians couldn't be trusted, then there was no one left to trust in this world.

The conversation ended, and so did the wish.

Moss didn't cancel her Receive Magic, but the Shenron soul's received state automatically vanished.

Because after fulfilling a wish, Shenron requires a one-year recovery period—and so did the soul Moss received.

She could clearly sense that she wouldn't be able to receive the Wish Shenron's soul again for 365 days.

A year wasn't short—but not long either.

For someone like Moss, who traveled to a new world every thirty days, it meant she'd have to pass through six different, unknown worlds before she could wish again.

And just then—something changed.

Angewomon suddenly said, "Moss, I feel a powerful darkness forming within us."

"Darkness?"

Moss frowned. Where did that come from?

She looked at the panel—her evolution paths had shifted again.

[LadyDevimon: 50%][Lilithmon: 50%]

Not just those—every dark-aligned evolution path had gained increased probabilities.

Moss recalled: when she first received the Shenron soul, only the dragon-type paths had changed—nothing else.

But now, after making her wish to save Earth, instead of the holy paths increasing, the dark ones did?

The darkness within… could it be—

Moss closed her eyes and focused. She soon sensed the source of the darkness—it was within the Wish Shenron's soul.Aside from the recovering wish power, there was a black mist-like energy within it.

"Darkness… no, it's more like negative energy."

Using the Dragon Balls consumes positive energy and generates negative energy—a fact recorded in Dragon Ball GT.

Given that Future Trunks had purple hair, this world likely followed a GT-like timeline.

In Super, Trunks would've had blue hair—and the rules there are governed by the Dragon God, with no such side effects mentioned.

So if this was GT-type Shenron, then once enough negative energy accumulated, it would spawn powerful Evil Dragons.

For most people, negative energy from wishing would be bad news.

But in Moss's case—maybe not.

Because she had the Tiger Talisman, the power of balance.

"If I can use the power of balance to control this negative energy… wouldn't that mean I'd basically gain the combat power of an Evil Dragon?"

Moss had a bold idea.
