"Thank you all so much for your help!"
Supreme Kai Shin had just learned everything from Kibito—how much had happened since his capture, including the appearance of a mysterious ancestor. Overwhelmed and amazed, he turned to Moss and the others, expressing his sincere gratitude.
Moss, returning from her deep thoughts about the Past Life Fragment, replied, "If you're heading back to the Supreme Kai Realm, bring Mr. Buu with you."
"W-Why?" Shin's voice trembled.
Even though he understood this Mr. Buu was the good side of Majin Buu, just looking at that form brought back five million years of nightmares. The fear was instinctive.
Moss smiled gently. "Afraid? The best way to overcome fear is to face it."
Kibito raised an eyebrow—again with that smile. It reminded him of the devil's grin.
Shin hesitated. "That may be true, but…"
Moss added, "Besides, there may still be a trace of the Grand Supreme Kai's consciousness inside Mr. Buu. The environment in the Supreme Kai Realm might help awaken it."
Five million years ago, there were five Supreme Kais—North, South, East, West, and Grand.
But then Majin Buu invaded, killing the West and North Kais, and absorbing the South and Grand Kais, resulting in the rotund Fat Buu form we know today.
Only one was left—East Kai, now known as Shin.
Looking at Mr. Buu, whose body resembled the Grand Kai, Shin recalled his mentor's teachings. Excitement surged in him. "Really?"
Moss said, "It's just a possibility."
At least, that's how it worked in Dragon Ball Super. But who knew about this timeline? The universe is unpredictable. She couldn't give any guarantees.
"Even if the Grand Supreme Kai can't be awakened, Mr. Buu is like a blank slate now. Guiding him down the right path—that's what a god's mercy and compassion should be."
Moss pressed her palms together, her expression devout and serene.
Shin smiled awkwardly. "Y-You have a point…"
Krillin, Yamcha, and the others whispered, "Moss is like a goddess!"
[Holy Angewomon: 80%]Holy Power + Knowledge + Compassion + ... = Holy AngewomonJust a little more!
Moss smiled warmly, her expression radiant and kind.
"…," Kibito muttered inwardly, Did everyone forget what she did to me? Over 1.2 million healing spells, you know?! What kind of merciful saint does that?
Sure, she saved the world, but she wasn't exactly an angel.
He wanted to say something, but ultimately stayed silent.
Low profile. Stay invisible.
"Kibito."
A sudden voice made him jump and break into a cold sweat.
He turned—oh, it was just Supreme Kai.
"What is it?" Kibito asked cautiously.
Shin wasn't sure why Kibito was acting so skittish but didn't press it. "We're returning to the Supreme Kai Realm."
Though uncertain if the Grand Supreme Kai could be revived, Shin no longer feared Mr. Buu. After bidding farewell, he and Kibito teleported away with Mr. Buu.
[Mastemon: 31%]
Moss noted that her chances of evolving into Mastemon had just spiked.
Mastemon is a fusion of Angewomon and LadyDevimon, formed to face world-ending threats.
Was Majin Buu a world-ending threat?
Absolutely.
By resolving this crisis, Moss had accomplished something that might not have happened even with a Mastemon-level evolution. Even LadyDevimon would have to give her credit. Hence, the evolution chance rose.
After the Majin Buu incident, peace returned to Earth.
Moss originally planned to resume her studies in West City, but first, she made a stop at Kami's Lookout.
"That young man… turns out he was the Supreme Kai?" Kami said, having observed the events through his far-seeing ability. However, he could only see, not hear, so it was his first time learning Shin and Kibito's true identities.
To think that was his ultimate boss—the Supreme Kai! Kami wiped sweat from his brow.
Young man? Moss mused. That "young man" was at least five million years old.
But his personality didn't reflect that age. Maybe that's what it meant to be immortal—not just an ageless body, but a youthful heart, or at least, one that aged very slowly.
Otherwise, either your body or your mind would fall out of sync, and both outcomes were unpleasant.
After steadying her thoughts, Moss asked, "Kami, is there a way to help someone fall asleep quickly?"
Kami pondered. "Hypnosis."
"I mean, putting myself to sleep."
Only after falling asleep could Angewomon take control of the body to study. Moss wanted to give her more time to learn.
"…That, I don't know," Kami admitted.
There were plenty of techniques for putting others to sleep, but not oneself.
Angewomon, however, understood Moss's intent. "You could use the Sheep Talisman."
"Oh, I forgot I had that!" Moss chuckled.
Astral projection equals sleep, after all. If Angewomon's soul returned to the body alone, that would do the trick.
Moss possessed the power of seven talismans, but aside from the Tiger Talisman, she rarely used the others—especially the Sheep Talisman, which had practically zero presence.
"Sometimes, true power lies within," she mused.
She'd been focused on external strength lately—understandable, given how awe-inspiring the Dragon Ball world's energy attacks were. She'd gained many new skills, even a mysterious transformation.
The world of Dragon Ball had offered her so much that she almost forgot her inner strength.
But now she remembered.
So, Moss bid Kami farewell and headed to West City.
Unfortunately, Bulma's study room had been destroyed, along with all her learning materials. There was nothing left to study.
However, the time machine was nearly complete. Bulma offered, "You could go back to my home 20 years ago. My dad was still alive then. With his guidance, you'd learn even faster."
As she spoke, she brought Moss to the newly built time machine.
It looked like the previous model—a small rocket-like vehicle.
There, they encountered two unexpected people: Son Gohan and Future Trunks.
"Aunt Bulma, Miss Moss, may I return as well?" Gohan asked earnestly. Trunks also looked hopeful.
Moss glanced at Gohan's missing left arm. "You want to use the Dragon Balls from that time to restore your arm?"
Both the Earth and Namekian Dragon Balls were currently unusable. Even Korin had returned, but no Senzu Beans had grown yet.
And even if they had, old injuries like this couldn't be healed. Just like Yamcha's scar—it didn't vanish even after eating a Senzu.
"Uh, it's not a big deal," Gohan said. He'd already adapted to one-armed life.
Moss was briefly stunned—this Gohan radiated heroic aura.
Crisis breeds greatness. This bleak future had shaped him into someone resolute, brave, and indifferent to small matters.
Maybe letting Future Gohan meet Kid Gohan would be… interesting.
A small smile tugged at Moss's lips.
Trunks, hearing Gohan's casual attitude, grew emotional. "That's not okay, Gohan! You have to get it healed!"
Just as Gohan was about to respond, Bulma interrupted, "The time machine only has one seat. Modifying it for two will take some time."
Moss replied, "Just remove the seat."
Bulma sighed. "It'll be uncomfortable."
"…That's fine." Everyone was momentarily speechless.
Bulma muttered, "You guys only care about fighting."
The Briefs family did have their quirks. Her dad, Dr. Brief, had a habit of adding stereo systems to inventions. Maybe that eccentricity was what defined genius. Normal people lacked obsession.
Trunks didn't have that odd spark, which is why he was great at fighting—but hopeless at science.
In the end, Moss, Gohan, and Trunks insisted so much that Bulma gave in. She reluctantly removed the seat, opening up more space in the cockpit.
Now it could probably fit three to five people… maybe even Imperfect Cell!
Too bad Cell never thought to remove the seat—he only shrank himself to fit.
The next day, the time machine was complete.
Bulma suddenly asked Moss, "You still have about ten days before you return to your original world, right? Will you leave from the past or come back here first?"
Moss replied, "I'm not one for goodbyes. I'll leave directly from the past."
"Then… this is goodbye," Bulma said, hugging Moss tightly.
Moss froze, then gently patted Bulma's back.
A soft whisper by her ear—"Thank you."
Moments later, they parted.
"Wait!"
Future Trunks stopped Moss just before departure. He flew into the sky and flared his energy, calling the Z Fighters from all corners of the Earth.
He turned to Moss. "Miss Moss, since you won't be coming back… please accept our final gift."
Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu all raised their hands, forming spheres of pure life energy in their palms.
"Then I'll gladly accept."
Moss's heart warmed. She raised her hand and released a golden ring of light—Holy Bubble!
Everyone instinctively knew what to do. They infused their life energy into the golden ring. Moss absorbed the purified energy and stored it in the Great Demon Seal.
One, ten, hundred, thousand, million, hundred million…
Ten billion energy units!
Cell—your days are numbered!
