"I'm sure you know that's just you joking with all I've been saying. I've not even met the guy one on one."
Shantel didn't say anything but silently strode toward her phone and pulled up Claudia's number.
"I get it. You don't want to face the truth." Jack asked helplessly.
"No," she didn't deny, tapping the screen.
The phone rang and Claudia answered it almost immediately.
"Shan—finally! What the hell is happening? I've been trying to reach you but you have been answering any of your calls. Are you alright?"
"Claudia," Shantel said when Claudia finally stopped talking. "I'm fine and you don't need to worry about me."
Claudia paused. "But… the news. Mom has also been asking of you. Said she couldn't get through to you also."
"That's because I forgot my phone at home when I went out earlier. But I'll call her as soon as I can."
"What's actually happening?" Claudia asked again.
