Eadric's pov
As dawn's first light pierced through the dense canopy of the misty forest, the shadows slowly retreated.
It was time to make a move and since Aria was not speaking to me, I made our communications through Simon. If he was weirded out by that, he didn't show it.
I knew I fucked up with her, I pushed her with my intentions but I couldn't help myself.
"Okay, let's head out. The sooner we get back, the better for us."
I had the map Aria had slapped to my chest out of anger, she said I would need it but I have been combing through this forest since I was little, it was something I could handle.
We were passing the first waterfall when a twig broke, I stopped short and drew my sword. The monsters barely stepped out during dawn, they preferred to sleep because they knew no prey would get lost by this time but we can never be to careful.
"Stay close," I whispered over my shoulder to Aria and the others. My voice was barely audible above the rustling leaves.
