Chapter 21
Inside the core, Ark finally reaches the spot with the concentrated aura, and there in the center, he sees two small milky white cores of fire, orbiting each other, like two stars.
The red-black aura is trying to get inside the force field of the white cores from all sides, and the rotation of the cores is making the force field around them. But the rotations of the cores are slower and slower, and the force field is shrinking more and more. The aura is gaining more and more ground.
If it continues at this pace, then in half an hour the cores would be corrupted. Ark reaches the cores, and the aura starts to back off, taking the form of a black-hooded shadow.
The hooded aura stares at Ark for a moment and then disappears. The corrupted aura is finally expelled, and then the entire place is only burning with the milky white fire, clean and calm.
Ark goes next to the cores, which are rotating really slowly, like they are taking a breath after all that fighting.
He says:
"I know you don't understand what is happening, but don't worry, everything will be fine now."
Ark puts his hand over the two rotating cores, and his golden aura pours inside. The two cores devour it like it is the most tasty food on earth.
Ark feeds the cores for the next ten minutes or so. Then, when the cores are full, they start to rotate faster and faster until the cores 'collide' with one another, becoming one.
They are merging. Ark just watches now. He knows that the hard part is over. Now he only needs to wait for the cores to evolve and create the 'Body'. With his energy fueling the upgrade, it's not going to take so long—only about ten minutes or so.
Outside, the big players are blown away and barely get their bearings back. When they do, they see an image they won't forget for the rest of their lives.
They see the prince floating in the air, over an imprint on the ground, like a meteor strike. All around, it is quiet. Not a soul in sight, everything decimated, not even one survivor, and the city wall, a big part of it, is no more.
The barrier is broken. Moloch, with no injury on his body, floats there with a smile on his face. Then they hear him say something:
"I am the ruler of souls. I can shift my body in the 'Ethereal Dimension' anytime. Your attacks can't reach me. Ha Ha Ha!"
When the big players hear him, they know that any chance of winning has just disappeared.
"Yes, that's it. That is the look I love to see the most on my prey's faces before they die. I love to see how despair takes charge of the heart, and slowly, you give your soul to fate, but in this case, 'ME'."
Says the prince with a happy twisted tone, and a happy twisted smile.
Then the prince raises his hands and says in his language:
"rehtagotem."
Then the big players see how balls of light start to appear all around them, and even from under the earth. Some are milky white, some are black, some are green, some are purple, and some are a fiery red like magma.
The big players look at each other and see their broken bodies, knowing they can't fight against him anymore. But they will sure 'die' trying.
They look back at Moloch and see him gathering the souls in a whirlpool above his head. Then he opens his mouth wide, and the souls are flying inside his mouth.
When Melody sees that, she knows she only has one chance to change this situation.
They all hoped that Zmaug's spear would strike, but the explosion was too great. Not even the sure-hit managed to get past that. So she resorts to her last 'Ace in the hand.'
"Dimension's Destroyer, I need you."
And the half black, half white sword appears in her hand.
She is already healing at a speed more than triple that of the others, because of her 'Nature powers'. Then she starts speaking:
"Space Swamp."
"Space Freeze."
"Space Lock."
"Soul Only Damage."
"Soul Poison."
"Soul Lock."
"Soul Weakening."
Then she speaks for her teammates and herself:
"Super Healing."
"Soul Hit Only."
"Titan's Strength."
"Super Speed."
"Triple Damage."
"Soul Defense."
Then Moloch starts to feel the weaknesses from Melody's words hit him, but it doesn't affect him very much.
And the big players are feeling the empowerment of Melody's words, and it is really helping them heal faster.
Then Melody says:
"My words didn't affect him very much, so don't expect him to be much weaker than before."
Zmaug answers:
"Something is better than nothing. We will take everything we can to help us, no matter how small."
Moloch stops eating souls. And to the rest of the souls, he says something:
"luoSnoitpurroC."
Then the rest of the souls start to transform into monsters, and overall, only screams are heard, and the crying of the innocent, begging for the pain to stop.
Then Kyle says to them:
"Moloch is starting to rebuild his army. We need to stop him now."
Before Kyle finishes talking, Melody is already flying towards him, her sword lifted up high, ready to make minced meat of Moloch.
Then the others are also flying towards Moloch, with their weapons ready.
But before anyone reaches Moloch, three arrows fly past them and hit Moloch. One of the arrows hits his legs, and a layer of ice freezes him in place. One of the arrows hits him in the chest, and a white fire that damages the soul appears, and the third arrow hits him in the head, exploding with the power of a sun.
But after the explosion subsides, they see Moloch in another place. He changed spots with a different soul. He didn't take any damage from the arrows.
Melody changes course and reaches him in the next second. She swipes her sword from underneath, aiming to split his chest open.
But Moloch just uses his nails like knives to block the sword, not a worry on his face. But that is a mistake—underestimating the sword.
Because when the sword makes contact with the nails, they are cut down like butter, the sword continuing unperturbed towards his chest. Finally, a change on his face appears. He knows that if that sword hits him, it can hurt his body even if he goes into the 'Ethereal Dimension'. So a red aura forms on his chest in a millisecond, and then he screams, a scream that affects the souls in every direction.
A pained look appears on Melody's face. The scream damaged her soul, but she bites her lips and continues the strike. The sword hits the red aura on his chest, and for a second, the sword stops. Moloch has enough time to pull himself just a little bit back.
But then the red aura is cut through, and the sword opens his chest like a watermelon. Then a shocked expression appears on his face. Then rage, like never before, overcomes him. A weak Earthling has managed to hurt him.
Him, The Soul Ruler, Moloch Gor'og, will become a laughing stock if the other royalty hear about him being injured by a 'weak Earthling'.
"Why do you have a sword of this caliber? How did you manage to get a 'Dimension Destroyer' weapon? Even...'I'... don't have a weapon so powerful. How do you, a weakling, have it?"
But before he gets an answer, the other big players reach him. Zmaug gets to him second. He thrusts his spear into the wound that Melody made, but Moloch doesn't even budge. His body becomes Ethereal, and the spear passes through with no damage made.
Then Kyle arrives, and his sword's red edge becomes even redder, and he plans to take an arm, so he swipes down from above.
Moloch starts to become annoyed by all the 'flies' around him. So he makes a fist, and a red glow appears, surrounding his entire fist. Then he walks forward with the spear still through his body, but he doesn't care.
He raises his fist and hits Zmaug's body. The fist simply passes through the body, no damage at the surface. But Zmaug starts to bleed from his mouth, then his eyes, then his ears.
Then Kyle's strike comes from behind to take his arm, but Moloch simply changes places with another soul, and the strike misses.
Zmaug puts his hand over his chest, and his body is perfectly fine. Moloch hit directly his Soul. He damaged his soul pretty badly. If he gets hit another time, he will lose his life.
Moloch just watches them from a distance. He is also hurt and wants to heal, so he waits and watches like a hunter.
But all of a sudden, the sky gets cloudy, and darkness comes. Then a light pillar raises up to the sky and illuminates everything around.
'Something, or someone is coming.'
