Chapter 36
Nyssa now knows why Kyle wasn't answering earlier, he was putting traps everywhere. She sees him flying toward her, so she sends her vines toward him to stall him, even for one second.
But Kyle destroys the vines before they even reach him. Now he is using his full power, and it makes the difference at this critical moment. Before Nyssa even has time to come up with a plan to escape, Kyle is already in front of her, his sword raised, ready to take her head off.
But Nyssa uses her last resort. She puts all her aura into her eyes and tries to charm him again, using her charm at full power. Her eyes glow with a strong yellow color that makes them stand out like two candles in a completely dark world. Even with his eyes closed, he can still see the light from her eyes.
Her eyes' intense light makes Kyle feel like a deer in front of headlights, unable to move, but at the same time, he feels that it's a peaceful light, one that makes him feel nice and cozy, not wanting to stop this feeling.
When Nyssa sees Kyle's sluggish movements, a smile appears on her face. She transforms her last hand into a sword and prepares to thrust it into his heart. She pierces his heart the next moment, but something feels wrong—the sword doesn't feel like it's pierced flesh, but air.
Then, the next moment, she sees a sword coming out of her chest. Kyle is behind her, with the Vanisher piercing her body all the way through. She then sees the Kyle in front of her disappearing with the wind.
She says:
"Until the end, you used only tricks to win. You humans are really hateful."
Then Kyle's wind aura enters her body and cuts it into thousands of pieces.
Nyssa Vexthorn, a Dark Being Royalty, is dead—her body cut into thousands of pieces, but still an easier death than Devia's.
Kyle looks at her drifting body pieces and says:
"Human weakness, our weakness, is the most powerful strength that we have, because that is what gives us the power to take the... 'WIN with force from our opponent's hands'."
Suddenly, Kyle hears claps from behind him. He turns, and there he sees Ark, smiling and clapping.
Ark says:
"Nicely said. And good plan you had there, managing to trick both of them, but here at the end, you almost screwed up, big time. Ha Ha Ha!"
Kyle puts his sword away because he is afraid he will do something he'll regret, like stabbing Ark, which would lead to his own demise.
He says:
"Don't tell me that you were here the entire time, only watching?"
Ark looks away and starts whistling while walking toward the castle:
"I think I hear someone crying for help. We need to hurry, we don't have time to talk. Let's go."
Kyle just looks shocked at Ark's shamelessness.
Then he starts to follow, knowing that he can't do anything about Ark.
They both take flight and reach the front lines, but there they see a slaughter. The people are killing the enemies like weeds. In about ten minutes or so, they will win.
Aurora sees them in the sky and comes to them:
"At this pace, in a few minutes, there will be no more invaders. Our Empire will be saved. Thank you, Kyle. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to save our people."
Kyle smiles and tells her:
"You don't have to thank me. In times like these, we must be united and help each other out. And this is the reinforcement I talked about. This is Ark Ember."
Aurora looks at Ark and says:
"Well, thank you for coming, but it seems we already won. And I am Aurora Ravenna, the Fourth Empire Ruler."
She smiles at Ark and extends her hand for a shake. She knows that this person is stronger than Kyle, so it would only benefit her to be friends with someone like Ark.
Ark shakes her hand and says:
"Nice to meet you. It would be even better if there were nicer circumstances for our meeting, but we can only take what is given. And you've done a great job here, you can be proud of yourself."
Aurora looks at him, and then a genuine smile appears on her face. What woman doesn't like to be complimented?
Kyle looks at them and says:
"Would you two like a room? We are still at war, so act like it."
Ark turns to him with a red glow in his eyes, really contemplating if he even needs him anymore, or just activate his laser eyes.
But Aurora saves him, saying:
"Kyle is right. We need to go and prepare for what comes next."
Ark is still contemplating.
Kyle looks at him and doesn't say anything, but his response to Aurora seems a little bit too fast:
"Yes, we need to go and see if your Empire still needs us, or if we can go directly to the Second."
While they are talking and planning, in the Second Empire, Elliot and Niobe are having some problems.
They reached the City Capital, where the Devils and Dark Beings' forces were concentrated by the time Ark was fighting Urrokon.
There, they saw almost half of the city destroyed, with only a handful of people protecting the entrance to the City Shelter, where all the normal people, including the women and children, were.
If this last line of defense falls, then all the people from the City Capital will die.
But they don't see any Devil Royalty, only the minions and the weak monsters. They look at one another and nod. They can't worry about the Royalty now. They must hurry and help.
Niobe flies down, and Elliot takes his bow out, then pulls the string and dozens and dozens of arrows fly in one second toward the monsters below. Some arrows turn to flames, engulfing monsters in an area, leaving not even ashes. Some arrows turn into wind blades that make minced meat of the monsters all around. Some arrows turn into ice, trapping them like statues, killing them in a second. Some turn into earth bullets, making a beehive of them. Some turn into vines that coil around the monsters and breaks them, like twigs.
Then, after a few shots, he also flies down to the last defense line. Niobe has already reached them and takes out her monster's. They immediately start killing the invaders. She sends soul waves that, when passing through the invaders' bodies, cause them to fall to the ground, their souls destroyed.
Elliot reaches down and lands near Niobe. They both go toward the people. Niobe says:
"I am Niobe Megara, and this is Elliot Ellisar. We are the reinforcements from the Third Empire. We are here to help."
Then Elliot also says something:
"I can help with the healing. Where are the most wounded?"
The people, seeing their powers and how they managed to push back the entire line of monsters, are shocked. Then they hear that they can help them.
Some immediately start to cry, and some start to cheer. But all are happy for the change.
Niobe's monsters and Elliot's arrows have managed to create a free space from the invaders where the people can breathe a little bit and tend to the injured.
Then a commander comes to the two of them and says:
"I am Ray. I am the last commander here. We are really glad that you two are here. Elliot, you said? The wounded people are over there."
Then he points to the back of the people's lines and calls for a soldier to lead Elliot there.
Niobe looks at the people and says:
"I know the people are already dead tired, but now is the time to fight even harder. So tell them to prepare for 'War.'"
"Me and Elliot will fight at the front. You and your people will only kill the ones that get past us."
Ray looks at her with a 'not quite believing' look:
"You two will fight with all these monsters? Alone?"
Niobe looks at him with an angry look:
"We don't have time to see who has bigger balls right now. Do you want our help or not? Because if you do, then we need to hurry and do what I say. If not, then you can fight alone."
Ray starts to sweat from Niobe's aura. He doesn't have any thoughts of going against her, even for one second:
"We will do what you say. I'm not trying to go against you. I thought no one would risk their lives for someone from another Empire, so I was only surprised. Really not trying to go against you."
Then Niobe nods and starts walking toward the front lines, where her monsters are fighting with the invaders.
The White Nightmare enters the scene with a smile on her lips.
