Dynos
" I hate you."
Those were the last words Devin said to him before she walked off the bridge in her pajamas.
Dynos adjusted his jaw and nearly grinned. She had a good left hook. It only made him feel better about the whole situation. He deserved that from her this time.
This time he would have to stay away for more than a month. At least until things have cool down.
He arrived home, satisfied that he had finally made her cave. It might take a long while, considering her rage, but he would be able to go to his real home soon. Wherever that was.
The place he called home was a distant and happy memory. He didn't really know where home was. It was more of an instinct than a true knowledge of it. It was just like how animals knew where and when to migrate.
He dropped his keys on the counter and froze.
She was here again.
" Hello Darling, you're home." The woman said in an excited voice.
" Para..." Dynos stared at the blonde woman like she was a plague. " Are you here to scold me?"
She waved him off. " As if you ever cared about what I have to say," A glass of wine appeared in her hand. She took a small sip, " You've done it now. She's furious with you."
" She hates me." he added as he collapsed into the cot across from where she sat.
Para frowned at him. "You say that as if you actually care."
" I do care." He confesses, " I didn't think that it would go that far."
" You always go that far. Every time you meet someone that interest you. This time will be fun for sure." She had more of her drink at the end of her comment.
Dynos frowned this time. Para, otherwise known as Paradeisos, meaning paradise. She was what a normal human would call a goddess. She was everything a woman wanted to be and more. But under the facade she wore, she was a bitch.Especially to him.
She knew everything about him. Including the memories that he didn't have anymore. She was the holder of all his past memories. He had met her when he found himself in Ireland, confused and dazed, several decades ago. And even though he had no memories, he felt a familiar with her. It wasn't in her nature to stick around though, but whenever she showed up like this, she stuck around. For an annoyingly long period of time.
A sly grin formed on Para's face. She stood up from where she the seat and glided her way over to him. Suddenly, no surprise to Dynos, she was climbed over him on the cot. She rested her head on his chest and cuddled up against him. "You know... I can hear what you're thinking."
He just lied there with his eyes closed. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought of the long night ahead of him. "Should I be scared?"
She straddled him and giggled. "Certainly."

It was a ten in the morning. Dynos rose from bed with the sunlight hitting the penthouse like a bright beam. He didn't normally sleep this late, but Para made sure to keep him awake despite knowing that he needed the sleep now that was in the deal with Devin.
Para was still in bed, deep asleep. Her eyes fluttered opened, and she smiled like sunshine itself. He almost took back anything bad he said about her. Her golden eyes sparkled as she looked up at him. " Aren't you tired?"
He tossed the covers and walked towards the closet. " I am, no thanks to you."
" Are going to work?" She began stretching out her arms.
He always wondered why she asked things she already knew the answers to. Maybe it was her way of acting human. She chose the worst part, being clueless.
He went along with it anyway. " Yes Para." he replied dryly.
She propped her head on her hand as she watched him select what he was going to where. " You don't have to go if your tired. You own the company, don't you?" She mused, " It's adorable how much you try to play human."
So, she says. As though she doesn't do so herself.
"I can hear you." She reminded him.
"Well, I don't care, do I?" He walked into the shower and with his abilities super sped his way through his entire morning routine. He walked back into the room, fully dressed in the outfit he had selected.
Para's eyes roamed over him. "That took you long enough. The deal you made with the girl already making you slower, I can tell." She let her golden hair fall on her shoulders.
He took back all the nice things he had thought about her. "You're being your sweet self again." He sarcastically stated. "I missed that."
She rolled her eyes. "Please shut up. You'll only get weaker now. I hope you know that. If you use your powers too much, you'll have to rest longer and do things like walking."she shuddered.
"I remember. I'm taking the car today anyway." He tried to adjust his look in the mirror.
With a sigh she walked up to him, still in nothing but her underwear. He looked down at her slightly and then turned away. She was almost taller than Devin, but whenever she stood in front of him, he was reminded that they were in no way equals. She gave off an aura that matched her own beauty. It was intimidating, and she had refused to teach him how to be stronger when he asked. Unknowingly, he found himself doing it to people sometimes, but he could never quite get to the level she was at. It pissed him off.
She started to button his shirt all the way up to his collar. Thoughtfully, she decided to leave the last two buttons. " Now you look sexy and professional." She pouted as she wrapped her arms around his waist. " I wish you would just stay home with me."
He reluctantly hugged her back. He became grateful for the fact that she didn't control him as she wished all the time. "I have to go Para...I hate not being busy. And It's not like I'm going to see Devin for a while."
Para wrapped her arms around his neck. She looked irritated. " You call her by name now?" She propped her chin on his chest and looked at him confused. "Wait, why did you say that you wouldn't see her today?"
He quirked his brow, also confused. "Because... she needs some space. As you know she despises me right now."
She smiled and tiptoed up to kiss his cheek, as though he knew something he didn't.
"Have a good day at work darling." He watched her walk into the bathroom.
"You should go to work too!" He said to her.
He walked into the driveway wondering what she meant by that question. He silently hoped that she wasn't trying to pull something. That was her thing, he realized over the years. Almost as if she gained strength off the mischief she got up to. She should have been named Menace instead of Paradise.
He got into his car, and once he hit traffic, he recalled why he chose to teleport most of the time. New-York was the hot spot for needless traffic.
His phone rang. It was his assistant Ethan calling. He answered it with the car. " What is it Ethan?"
" Good morning sir. I just wanted to know if you were still planning on coming today."
Dynos was getting more and more annoyed by the traffic. " I was just having a late morning Ethan. What is it? Is that why you called, or is there a another reason?"
Ethan stayed silent for several seconds. " No sir. It's just that you are never late. I just thought to ask because the new models for the cover shoot are coming for the auditions today."
" And...?" Dynos pressed.
" It's just that you like that you always like to participate, so when you were coming late I thought that maybe something happened, Or someone..."
He smiled to himself when he finally asked what he had on his mind. " Yes. She's back. If that's what you're asking."
" Okay sir. Thank you for telling me. I wouldn't want to have to find out like last time."
He rubbed over his face embarrassed at the memory. " Of course we wouldn't want that."
All the times Para visited him, he nurtured a habit of showing up late for work to make time for her. So, Ethan had noticed, being the perfect helper he was. The incident Ethan was referring too was when she had visited during fashion week three years ago. She chose the busiest time of the week to show up and disrupt his life. So, with much effort, he tried to be at work as early as he usually did, but Para had an idea. She showed up, lying on his office table, dressed in her red laced lingerie. This wouldn't have been much of an issue for Dynos, if poor Ethan was not right beside him.
Mortified, Ethan focused on the carpeted floor, as though there was something suddenly interesting about it. " I will see you when you need me sir." He muttered before darting off and closing the door after him.
He turned to her disapprovingly," Para." He called.
" What?" She questioned, hardly repentant.
" He'll be fine, he's having a field day I'm sure. This is the closest he'll get to see a goddess in her prime form."
Dynos covered his face. " He has a girlfriend. You know that."
Para played with her hair innocently and said, " Yes... but is she a goddess?"
After that, he stopped trying to go to work early. One would think that the whole thing was a little incident, but nothing Para did was an incident. Everything she did was for a reason. The sole reason for what she did was to make sure he slept in with her. It wasn't love, He realized that long ago. She enjoyed toying with him as she did.
The incident had been so long ago, but Ethan made sure to ask each time he was late. To prevent walking into anymore inappropriate visits.
He got off the phone with Ethan and groaned to himself. From the way things looked he would have been better off if he had teleported to work. He didn't care if that drained his energy. He would just need to sleep longer to recover from using his powers. His finger tapped against the wheel. Impatience was getting the best of him. He needed to get out of there immediately. He grabbed hard on the wheel as he thought about where he wanted to be. Luckily for him, he had his own personal parking space.
In a split second, he was where he wanted to be. He stepped out of the car with a sigh. Feeling more tired than ever. He really did have to be cautious now, or else he'd be just like any mortal. He couldn't help himself though. Humans had a way of making even the simplest of things difficult.
As he strolled into the building, the chatters of people echoed through. Everyone was running around with one file or the other, which was espected. Fashion week was the the busiest time of the year for them. They had so many runway shoots to do, not to mention the endorsement deals. Dynos heads straight for his office to start work for the morning.
On his desk were a heap files, laid neatly for him to go through. He had a quirk for never leaving unchecked files in his office, so he decided to go through all of them before checking on the models. It was his plan original to hold the audition himself, but life had a way of surprising him. He had no idea para would come so soon. Or that Devin would agree to the deal. Devin...
What did he expect? The poor girl probably thought that he would end her life in that moment. Dynos wasn't that kind of person, no. He just made really bad jokes. Really bad. He was only trying to scare her. Or was he? Deep down inside a part of him almost enjoyed seeing her suffer. He didn't want to admit to himself that he was truly as dark as Devin depicted him to be. Although, it was his very intention to make her feel that way, he didn't want to believe he was actually evil. Sometimes he felt like there was another person inside him, trying to claw it's way outside.
Para over the years dropped weird clues that he had formed attachments with his wish makers in the past. From her tone, it sounded like there was never a good last wish parting between them. So, for his sake and hers, he would rather start off their relationship as the typical Psychopath. That way, both parties could part ways without being hurt. So even if Devin continued loathing him, he would only be grateful.
His job was simple :Find the right subject, provide the rules, grant ten wishes and return home. Wherever that was. He had a similar life-cycle to a wasp. Only, he didn't die at the end. Life for him has and apparently always will be a mystery to him. Para never gave him full details but she seemed to know everything about him. She hovered over his existence. He knew that with ever cycle he went through, and every century, she was there. He was sure she was hiding things that she wasn't supposed to, but he wasn't powerful even to rebel against her. The goal was to simply get through this time without having to deal with humans and their unnecessary emotions.
After about what seemed to be an hour, he was still going through the files. Normally, he would been through by now, but as fate would have it, he was handicapped now.
Ethan charged in the office with an arm full of documents. He seemed surprised to see Dynos there. " Sir, I didn't know when you came in. How long have you been here?" He asked as he settled more files onto the desk.
Dynos took off his jacket. "An hour ago. Why?"
"Well... I just held the auditions. It was fine. I called in some more infamous models to work with us last week. So we are all set in that department." He gently taps on the files. " The are the portfolios if you want to give a better opinion."
A frown flashed his face before a smile. " I'll look into it, thanks."
Ethan didn't leave. He stood and watched over Dynos with a look of concern.
Dynos could feel it, and he didn't like it. " May I help you?" He asked in a passive-aggressive voice.
" It's just unusual... for you to still be working on those documents." He replied. " Rough... morning?"
A tight line formed on his lip as he leaned back on his chair to give his sassy secretary a good long look. " Get out." He said firmly.
" Yes sir," Ethan sped walk to out of the office, to avoid any further looks.
Dynos chuckled. Ethan was good at his job. He was a kept to himself type of person. He was the only one that knew him well enough to ask questions, but didn't. From the the thoughts he gathered, Ethan was sure that he was an alien. He was very into that conspiracy theory very deeply. He didn't mind it as long as he didn't go around spreading his theories to other people.
Since he was such guy, he gave him many 'company benefits'. At first Ethan thought he was trying to buy his silence, but took them anyway. For some reason, he kind of looked forward to the day he would jump out and ask.
Half an hour goes by and he's half way through the portfolio's. He didn't see the need to go through all of them. Ethan knew how to do his job.
He got a text from him a while ago, Telling him that he could still see the models now if he wished to. They were still gathered down stairs for some reason.
Bored out his mind, he decides to check out the models before getting backing to his desk full of files. He takes a mental not to teleport anywhere till the busiest times are over. Especially not with sometimes as big as a car.
Photographers were getting ready for the cover shoots. Dynos forgot that was today. He was either getting to old or the deal was really having it's way with him.
The Four models that were selected. One of them caught mono, so he was interested to see who would replace her. He sat beside Ethan in one of the chairs, right behind where the photographer was. He made his presence dull so that only Ethan would immediately notice him.
Ethan held out a cup of something" I got you some coffee for your rough morning." Ethan said, not bothering to hide the sarcasm.
Dynos rolled his eyes as he took it from him. He glossed over at the camera and then the models. And then he stared. A sly grin formed on his face, and he met eyes with the last person he would think to see so soon.
Devin tried hard not show how startled she was, but he knew.
As surprised as he was. He tried not to let it show. "This is a turn of events." He said silently. "The new model is a good fit." he told Ethan.
"I know." Ethan responded, rather proud of himself. "Someone recommended her last minute and I couldn't have been happier. Who gets mono on the morning of a big shoot."
"Right..." he said back, barely paying Ethan any mind. He took a sip of his coffee before looking back into the brown and beautiful loathing pair of eyes in front of him.
Para, you really are a bitch.
