I got to my feet and said to Councilman Richard, "Wait here."
Then I followed Tom out of the hall. The reason why I did that could not be over emphasized. It was clear that Richard would want to find out who it was I had invited to the castle. So that was the reason I asked him to stay behind.
Of course, he'd still want to ask me about it later. But it wouldn't feel too awkward and I'd have an answer waiting for him.

She was waiting at the same place that I had watched the sunset yesterday. Same place Veronica had come to ask for my forgiveness. I had not seen her even since I woke up so it would suffice to day that she had gotten the hint that I wasn't in the mood for negotiations and chosen to take her leave.
