I had to make the man believe that I had come to Lucas's palace with good intentions I knew very well that if I gave a negative response to his questions, then there would be a lot of eyes on me.
And suspicions would arise too. And that was something I didn't want.
It would only derail my plans.
So I brought up the corners of my mouth in a smile and leaned back against the chair, trying to feel very comfortable and at peace with myself. I didn't want him to think that the question bothered me or gave me hard thoughts.
