Breakfast was announced and I headed straight for her room, not caring if Councilman Richard was still in there with her
On my way there, I met Veronica coming from that direction. I grew suspicious and decided to stop her and ask where she was coming from.
"Councilman Richard told me to serve wine," she replied.
When I heard that, I knew that she meant Councilman Richard was with Clara.
"And how long was that?" I asked.
"A while ago," she said.
I nodded. "I need to understand that you are okay with the conditions I placed on your staying back at the pack."
"My lord, I can t refuse your generosity."
"Well, you shouldn't even be saying that to me. You know the person who is responsible for you staying. And that is Clara. You respect should be towards her because she was kind enough to let you stay. Hopefully, you won't cause problems for her."
"My lord, can I ask you a question?" Veronica asked, her eyes rising up from the ground to look at me.
"Yes, you may."
