Our character had boarded the school bus, taken his seat, and was waiting. After 1-2 hours, the traffic had cleared, and the school bus started dropping everyone off at home. When our character arrived home, his mother, Sarah, opened the door.
Sarah: "Where have you been?"
Sarah quickly hugged her son.
John: "Calm down, dear. There was an accident; the traffic was heavy, that's why they were delayed."
****: "Yes, mom, please calm down."
Sarah: "Okay, okay, I'm calm. Come inside."
Our character entered the house and walked toward his room.
Sarah: "Aren't you hungry? Come, let's have a snack."
****: "Thank you, mom, I'm not hungry right now."
Our character went into his room, changed his clothes, and threw himself onto the bed. He pulled out a sleep aid pill box from the drawer next to the bed and swallowed two pills.
(Let me answer your question before you ask: I have trouble sleeping at night; in fact, I can't sleep at all.)
Our character got up from the bed, went to the bathroom, and came out 10 minutes later. He then put on a few clothes and grabbed a hoodie before heading downstairs to leave the house.
John: "Where are you going like that?"
****: "I won't be gone long; I'm just going to walk around the neighborhood, Dad."
John: "No more than 2 hours, then you're back."
****: "Deal."
Our character took some money from his father's wallet. It was now 2:00 AM...
(I usually sleep in the mornings because I can't sleep at night. It's not a disease or anything; some of you might think I have FFI disease. But as I said, I can sleep. I just don't know what this inability to sleep is.)
Our character stepped outside. A light breeze was blowing at night, so he pulled up the hood of his hoodie and put his hands in his pockets as he started walking through his neighborhood.
(I love the nights. They offer me solitude and silence, which helps me relax.)
Without realizing it, he had wandered quite far from home. At that moment, someone passed by our character; it was a person with a mask on their face who quickly turned into an alley. Right behind them, a police officer was running.
Police: "Hey, kid! Come here!"
The officer ran toward our character, looking tired.
Police: "Hey, where did he go? You need to tell me urgently!"
****: "What? Uh, he went into that alley over there."
Our character pointed toward the alley.
Police: "AHH! Damn it! That guy slipped away from me again. You'd better get away from here, kid. He just stabbed someone and ran..."
The officer took a deep breath and moved away from our character. He was relaying information over his radio. After the police officer left, our character looked down the alley.
(Why didn't the police officer go into the alley to catch him? Is it dangerous?)
Our character put his hands in the pockets of his hoodie and entered the alley, continuing to walk.
(Curiosity is really a dangerous feeling. Sometimes it can even lead you to death, just like what I'm doing right now. I succumbed to my curiosity and stepped into the alley.)
