Chapter 8 - A Long Day

When our character arrived home, they heard a bit of scolding from their father but managed to get to their room. After changing into something more comfortable, they opened their computer and started browsing.

(Sometimes I really wonder what people do in their secret lives. That's why I memorized Chloe's number long ago. In this day and age, you can find out a lot about someone just from their number. Let's see, what's her name...)

****: So, her name is Chloe Rose.

(Now I can browse her Instagram and gather information. Of course, she also uses Twitter, hmm...)

Our character had been at the computer for two hours.

(Hmm... Chloe Rose, her father's name is Robert Rose, and her mother's name is Mary. I guess her mother named her. She goes to the same high school as me, which could be a problem, but whatever. She seems very social and loves to have fun. It was easy to hack into her private account. She had shared a lot of information on her normal account. I added a few cultural libraries to my 'attack' script, and it took me less than two minutes to find her. Her password was simply her pet's name spelled backward: 'UFOT22'. I really didn't think it could be this easy. On her private account, there were pictures of her partying and drinking alcohol, along with bikini and revealing photos. It seems she has a boyfriend, and they've broken up; there were references to him in her stories. I also looked at a few of her posts and... Bingo! Meet 'Adrian Carter.' He doesn't have a private account; he shares everything on one account. He's a street kid and fits the 'white gangster' stereotype. He has cuts on his arms and videos of him smoking with cool rap lyrics. Plus, there are pictures of him with Chloe... But what intrigued me were the messages. Cracking his password was incredibly simple: '123456seven'. Did he really think he could fool anyone? Anyway, my suspicions were right. In his private messages, he had been talking to many girls and meeting them. It seems Chloe realized this because in one of the chats, he wrote something like, 'I cheated on that whore.' Really interesting. Hmm... I think I'll send those messages to the girls he was talking to. For that, I created a new account and sent each of them a message.)

****: Hmmm...

Our character closed their computer and flopped onto their bed, closing their eyes.

The next morning, our character woke up and headed to the bathroom to wash their face. After washing up and using the toilet, they looked out the window and muttered:

****: Fucking Life.

It seemed they were very irritable today.

Our character got dressed and went downstairs.

(Here we go again, another damn day, same old stuff. Don't worry, I won't bore you.)

After eating breakfast, our character headed towards the school bus. They sat in the front seat next to the driver, took out their notebook, and started drawing.

(Ahh, drawing again on the same damn day. I'm really struggling in this suffocating world. You might not agree with me, and that's your right, but please give me a little credit.)

As our character approached the school, everyone on the bus was talking about the party incident from the previous night.

(It's really weird how quickly information spreads. Hmm... I wonder if it's the same at school?)

When our character arrived at school, many groups were discussing the party incident. They paused for a moment and looked at someone from afar.

(Oh, that's Adrian Carter. A bunch of guys are gathered around him. I guess my messages reached them. There might be a big fight; it would be good to get to class.)

Our character entered their classroom, sat at their desk, and rested their head on it. Everyone in the class was talking about the party incident. In the back, Lucas and his friends were discussing it when Lucas started speaking:

Lucas: "The person who reported it is unknown. They went to the last location of the phone, but I guess he broke the SIM card, so they couldn't find it."

Oliver: "So, the reporter is smart, huh?"

(Should I take that as a compliment? But I already know I'm smart. Hmm... So they couldn't find me. Breaking the SIM card was a good move. I guess I can catch up on some sleep now.)

Our character was jolted awake by loud shouting as the lunch bell rang. Everyone was rushing downstairs, and some students shouted:

Students: "There's a fight! There's a fight!"

Our character woke up to the noise and thought:

(Ahh... Fuck, what the fuck are those sounds.)

Once our character came to their senses and understood what was happening, they looked out the window and could see the fight clearly.

(Hmm... It looks like the fighters are Michael and... wait, what?)

Our character was shocked, their eyes wide open.

(Adrian Carter?... Why? Was there something between them? There were no girls I messaged yesterday related to Michael.)

Our character watched the fight carefully from the school windows.

(Hmm... This looks like it's going to be a pretty uneven fight. Michael is built and athletic; he definitely knows how to fight. On the other hand, Adrian is a street fighter but is skinny and weak. This will probably be an experience fight.)

As the fight began, everyone watched attentively and excitedly, some cheering. The fight lasted exactly two minutes. Michael knocked Adrian to the ground with a punch at the last moment. As everyone dispersed, some went to Michael's side. For a moment, Michael turned his head and made eye contact with our character, who was staring blankly at him... Michael seemed uneasy and quickly turned away.

(Hmm... Is this idiot staring at me? He's been looking at me for two hours, damn it.)

Feeling hungry, our character headed towards the cafeteria. Everyone was talking about the fight. Calmly, our character got their food from the cafeteria and sat outside to watch the schoolyard.

(A lot has really happened today. The fight... Plus, I was genuinely surprised that Adrian was one of the fighters.)
