Chapter 25 - Chapter 22 'Discovering (2)'

Discovering (2)

---

Third Person Pov

Vael recalled the second chapter of the book.

"The chapter began by describing various mythologies from that world. Though their names were not given, it seemed they had all been wiped out by the Evies. The book only briefly mentioned the war but did name one of the Pillar Gods of Etoulde—Chimone Chipaoti and that she had an embarrassing title"

"An embarrassing title for a God?" Serafall mused, raising an eyebrow.

"It's strange, but who knows what's considered embarrassing in another world," Falbium shrugged. The others nodded in agreement.

"That's all the information for now," Vael continued. "But there's also a form of magic written here—one meant for practice."

His words immediately piqued everyone's interest. A different type of magic? That could provide valuable insight into the spell craft of another world.

Vael read aloud from the book:

"Only the one reading this book may practice the following magic, as the book contains my divinity and will slowly transfer it to the one chosen by the book."

Silence. Then—

"Divinity?"

"What!?"

"Are you becoming a God?"

"I don't sense any divinity from you."

The strongest figures in the Underworld all reacted in their own way, but they shared the same shock. Killing a God was one thing—but a Devil becoming one? That was unheard of. And now, before them, stood the first person in history to embark on such a path—Vael Beleth.

"The book does say the transfer is slow," Vael reasoned.

The others exchanged glances before nodding.

"This is absurd," Azazel muttered, shaking his head. "It's been a long time since something actually surprised me like this."

Vael remained silent, but Sirzechs seized the moment.

"Governor General," Sirzechs addressed Azazel.

Azazel glanced at him. "Yeah?"

"It's time we seriously consider a peace treaty between Devils and Fallen Angels."

Azazel nodded. "I don't see any problem with that. But you know we'll need Heaven involved, too."

Sirzechs nodded in agreement.

"For now, let's consider it an unofficial peace treaty," Azazel continued. "I'll instruct my Cadres to stop actively engaging Devils. You should do the same." Then, turning to Vael, he smirked. "And you, brat—you should visit Grigori soon."

Vael nodded. "I'd love to."

"So, are there any spells that the book teaches you?"

Vael nodded. "There are two of them actually and the concept of Space is given."

They all nodded, and Tiamat said "Vael. I think you should not tell what the book teaches you to anyone. It is fine to tell the information but don't talk about the spells to anyone and the fact that you are slowly becoming a God."

Vael nodded.

"Yeah nephew." Falbium also added. Vael looked around and everyone seemed to agree.

"I have some research to do. Beelzebub, we should trade research sometimes and here take this bra," Azazel said and threw a flyer at Vael. "This will help you to come to Grigori."

Vael nodded and-

With that, Azazel vanished.

"I will also be taking my leave now and Vael the two people you sent for the organization are training well, bye!" Mephisto Pheles waved casually before teleporting away.

One by one, everyone else left—except for Serafall and Vael.

"So, Vael, how have you been?" Serafall asked, sitting beside him.

"I'm good. What about you?"

"I'm fine as well," she said with a smile. "You should visit the Sitri Clan sometime—Sona's been itching to play chess with you again."

"To defeat me again?" Vael chuckled.

"Of course," Serafall giggled.

A brief silence followed before Vael spoke again. "Serafall, just so you know, you're always welcome to visit. Spending time with you is really fun."

His soft smile made her heart flutter for a moment. Then, she grinned back.

"For sure! You know what? Why don't I come right now?"

Vael's eyes lit up. "Of course."

...

Vael's Pov

How did things even come to this?

Being trained in Ice Magic by one of the Devil Kings was already an opportunity few could even dream of—but to think that, in my own backyard, I'd find myself surrounded by some of the most powerful beings in the Underworld…

Sitting before me was Serafall Leviathan, one of the Four Devil Kings and the one personally tutoring me. But she wasn't the only guest.

There was also—

Sirzechs Lucifer, the strongest Devil and another of the Four Kings.

Grafiya Lucifage, the Strongest Queen, sitting in the chair, her usual maid outfit changed to something more casual.

And even Falbium Asmodeus, another of the Four Kings, lazily lounging in his seat.

I had the Underworld's most powerful beings casually hanging out in my backyard with me and my peerage.

'I wish El Cid was here to see this…'

We all sat in comfortable chairs around a round table, each of us holding a glass of wine as we played cards—just like it was an ordinary gathering.

Except, it wasn't.

Not even close.

We were playing Poker while Yato was dealing while Garp had gone to a Game Center to play some arcade.

The money going to the pot was high, like very high.

Afterall every one of us were very rich and this was the reason Yato had not played.

How had things turn out like this?

Well, I had invited Serafall while Falbium invited himself 'wanting' to meet his nephew was his guise, but I knew he just wanted to laze around. Then Serafall proposed to play some games, and all things led to other and just then Sirzechs came coming here to invite me to his son's second birthday.

This was the first time, I spoke to Grafiya.

Though, devils had the long traditions to only introduce the child to the high society until sixth birthday. This was only applicable to the Heirs of the clan and only old-fashioned clans would do that.

"Fold" I said throwing the cards.

'Life sure was peaceful like this. I guess I have to visit Underworld soon, Millcas's birthday is still a month away.'

I sipped the wine enjoying its taste.
