One Year Later
Vael Pov
I looked at the training taking place from my room. El Cid was working with Garp and Yato, honing their strengths while also mitigating their weaknesses.
Meanwhile, I was training solo, focused on improving my spellcasting speed and studying the intricacies of runes and magic circles.
Before me lay sheets of paper covered in intricate drawings of magic circles and runes.
'Why can't I seem to understand it?'
I planned to engrave spells onto the slime bodysuit and modify it so Garp and Yato could use it too. This would undoubtedly boost their strength.
Glancing at my notes, I read through the planned features of the bodysuit:
---
Slime Bodysuit
Functions:
Quick Equip & Remove
Energy Conductivity
Slime's Natural Resistance to Elemental Magic and Affinity
Healing
Disguise
And many more
--
Slimes, being excellent conductors of all kinds of energy, meant that the bodysuit would enhance the wearer's strength, making it perfect for Touki, which had properties that transcended harming even the creatures of light like Demonic Power.
But even I needed Mochi and our familiar connection to use the updated slime bodysuit, as it was impossible to utilize the bodysuit without fine control over energies.
I needed something that would really improve the quality of the slime bodysuit.
As my mind wandered, I thought of everything.
For hours, I sat in my chair. Mochi came to my side, the familiar blue slime bubbling happily. I pondered over what could function like Mochi—something that could replicate its abilities.
What do slimes do to reproduce? I wondered aloud.
Mochi looked at me curiously. "Well, we just separate our body and transfer a copy of our memories to it."
Memories?
"Yeah, we give the new one memories of talking, jumping, and the familiar forests."
This sparked an idea.
"Can you give them any memories?"
Mochi nodded eagerly.
This could work!
"Want me to show it to you now?" Mochi asked.
I shook my head. "Nah, not yet."
I turned my attention back to the training grounds. It looked like they were gearing up for another session, but this method of training was costing me too much. I needed a bishop as soon as possible.
Focusing back on the task at hand, I examined the magical circle and slowly began changing the Runes.
Creating new magic circles was tedious work since imagination alone wouldn't suffice. That's why, if someone managed to create a unique magic through imagination, it wouldn't require any magic circles.
"So, if the slime Mochi creates would replace this… that means I need to cut this off and add this instead… but I have to leave gaps for more spells… expanding this would make it too big… and this spell too… then this for tuning… and this for resistance… Mochi's skin is good… and this..."
As I muttered to myself, an idea slowly surfaced in my mind.
"This should work!" I exclaimed, a smile spreading across my face.
What if I used Agares Crystals as an energy source? They were incredibly flexible—usable in Satanic Arms and even in the Evil Piece.
So, I decided to try it...
I failed miserably. The magic didn't work at all. It wasn't a problem with the materials; it was purely a skills issue.
"I have to improve my knowledge of spells," I muttered to myself.
"That was very dangerous, Lord Vael," El Cid admonished, his voice stern. I nodded in agreement. "It was certainly very dangerous."
"I think you should focus on polishing your swordsmanship as well," El Cid suggested, and I accepted. I had been dedicating too much time to magic and spells. Just then—
I felt something within my Storage Magic. It was as if something was calling to me, which shouldn't be possible since the contents of Storage Magic linked to a static dimension.
The space in front of me suddenly tore apart, revealing the Book of Evie Etoulde glowing brightly.
The name was given by us in the Circle, the unofficial name of our group that oversaw Operation ExE.
I grasped the book in my hands as the rift healed, and I instinctively realized that Chapter 2 had been unlocked.
"Vivar, I will talk to you later. Inform them that I will be studying what it says."
El Cid nodded, and I rushed to my room from the training ground, reaching it in a matter of seconds.
I turned the pages and began reading.
I sat in the comfortable chair, reminiscent of our Circle meetings around a round table.
But this time, a new figure sat among us.
"So, you are the heir of Beleth, huh? The one chosen by an artifact from another world?"
I nodded. "It is an honor to meet you, Lord Azazel."
I looked at the leader of the Fallen Angels, the Governor General of Grigori.
"The pleasure is mine, kid. I've heard everything about you from the Devils of the Circle. Now tell us, what have you learned?"
"So—
