Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Running Away

The room was still filled with darkness and a little light from the lamplight. But along with that, the room was filled with the fragrance of lavender and honey.

It was the scent of Isabella. Nicholas smiled as he liked how his little moon's scent filled the room and wrapped around him.

Nicholas was lying on his stomach with one arm under the pillow. The black sheets were down to his waist, making his muscled back visible. His back was decorated with ink and nail marks.

It had been a long time since Nicholas slept so soundly and peacefully. It had been ten years since his insomnia started. Because of his insomnia, he never slept. No matter how much he tried, he could never fall asleep. And it made his mother lose sleep in worry.

His insomnia was something that even great doctors weren't able to cure. And no matter how many sleeping pills he took, he couldn't fall asleep. He tried other methods, but they didn't work either.

This was the second time he had fallen asleep. On top of that, this soundly. And both times, the reason was Isabella, his little moon. She was like a drug that made him lure him to sleep. She was a drug he needed. She was his drug.

Nicholas smiled with satisfaction as he remembered last night. He had finally had her. He had finally made her his. He had marked her as his. Now she was completely his.

Nicholas, with closed eyes, stretched out his hand to bring his little moon close to him. But instead of Isabella, Nicholas's hand met the cold mattress. Nicholas frowned and extended his hand more, but he still didn't find Isabella. His frown deepened, and his heart heaved.

He shot open his eyes and found himself alone in bed. He quickly sat up and looked around the room in the hope of finding her, but he didn't find her. He was in the room alone, without even any mark of her.

It didn't take a second for Nicholas to realize that his little moon had run away. She had disappeared. His little moon had escaped from him. He grinned at his little moon's futile attempt to get away from him.

Nicholas smiled at Isabella's innocence. His angel was too naive to think she could escape from him. She could never escape from him. He gave her chances. He gave her warnings, but she ignored all of them and came to him. And now that he had had her, had a taste of her, there was no way he would let her go.

Now Isabella belonged to him completely. Her everything belonged to him.

Nicholas smirked as he thought it was time to keep his promise. It was time to catch his little moon. It was time to let her know that she was his.

He stepped out of bed and put on his clothes before going outside. As he stepped out of the room, Max came to him and bowed. He looked at him and asked coldly,

"When did she leave?"

"Two hours ago, boss," Max uttered.

Nicholas nodded and made his way out of the club. His guards were ready with the cars in front of the club, and Nicholas and Max went inside the car. When Nicholas sat inside comfortably, he looked at Max and ordered,

"Drive to Isabella's house."

Max was shocked and confused by his boss's sudden order, but he instantly calmed himself and instructed the guard to drive to Isabella's house.

Nicholas should have waited for at least a day before approaching her and going to catch her. But he didn't want to. He wanted to go to Isabella now. He wanted her with him now.

Nicholas smirked as he thought about how he was going to surprise his little moon by showing up at her house unexpectedly. It would be so fun. So fun to teach his little moon that she couldn't run away from him.

The car came to a halt in front of the house, and Nicholas's eyes widened when he looked outside. The house was burned to ashes, leaving nothing behind. He hurriedly got out of the car and stood in front of the burned house.

Fear crawled into him, and his heart was beating fast as he thought something had happened to Isabella. He was about to go into the house but stopped when he heard people murmuring.

"It's so bad. The fire killed the parents. The children lost their parents. They were such good people," one of the neighbours said sadly.

Relief rushed into Nicholas at the knowledge that Isabella was safe. And at the same time, sadness filled inside him when he found out about the deaths of Isabella's parents.

"Yeah. But they left a few moments ago. Where did they go?" Another neighbour said, again gaining his attention.

"I heard the son mention going to another country today," another one muttered.

Nicholas's eyes widened, and anger crept into him. It didn't take long for him to understand that Isabella was leaving the country. She was leaving him. She was running away.

Why was she running away right after her parents' death? How could she think about running away from him? No, he would never let it happen.

He would catch her and shackle her with him with chains so that she could never run away. She wouldn't have gone far away if she had left a few moments ago. He hurriedly went back to the car and ordered darkly, his voice deadly,

"Find Isabella now."

Max looked at Nicholas with fear as Nicholas's eyes were filled with anger. Max quickly nodded and started doing as he was ordered. The sound of typing echoed in the car as Max worked on his laptop, trying to find Isabella through the survival cameras.

Nicholas had control over every survival camera in Italy. And since Max was the best hacker in the world, it was easy for him to view all the survival cameras together.

Max's fingers halted on the keyboard as he finally found Isabella and Andrew in the footage. In the footage, Isabella and Andrew get out of Andrew's car and enter the Italian airport. That footage was from ten minutes ago.

That meant they didn't have much time. They had to go there quickly if they wanted to catch her. Max looked at Nicholas, who was waiting impatiently, and said slowly and carefully,

"Miss is in the Italian airport, boss. She entered there ten minutes ago."

Nicholas took a sharp breath, hearing his words. He didn't have time. He gazed at Max coldly and ordered, his voice on edge,

"Tell our men in that area to go to the airport and stop her from entering any plane. And drive there quickly."

Max ordered the guard to drive as quickly as possible while he called the guards in that area. Nicholas looked outside as his car cut in line with the other cars and sped to get to its destination. His heart was pounding in his rib cage.

He needed to quickly go to her. He needed to catch his little moon, who didn't know where she belonged.

Meanwhile, Isabella stared out the window as she saw the plane slowly leaving the ground and flying into the sky. She watched how the plane was slowly taking her away from her country, from her home, from her parents.

As she was leaving the country, suddenly the thought of Nicholas came into her mind. Instantly a sigh escaped her lips as she was glad that she was getting away from him. There was a tiny bit of relief in her heart. She had to run away. She was running away from Nicholas.

She agreed to leave the country not only because of her parents but also for Nicholas. She knew that even though she had escaped from the club, she couldn't escape from him.

He would have come after her. He would have come to take her. And she wasn't in a state where she could handle him. That was why she ran away. Ran away from him.

Isabella thought he would forget her as time passed, and then she would be safe from him. She thought she was safe since she had escaped the devil. But she didn't know that you could never escape the devil. No one could escape the devil. And soon she would learn about it.

Isabella placed her head on her brother's shoulder, who patted her hand, comforting her. She closed her eyes, and tears fell from her eyes.

Yesterday she had everything, but in one day she lost everything. Isabella promised herself, as the plane slowly led them to their new destination, that she would return and take revenge.

She would take revenge on her ex-friend and on her parents' murderer. She would take everything from them and make them cry in blood, like they did to her.

The car came to a stop in front of the airport, and Nicholas quickly got out of it. He hurriedly went inside the airport in the hope that his men had caught her.

But rage filled inside him when his men came in front of him without her. They didn't get her. They were all trembling like leaves in fear of him. They were afraid of him, afraid of his wrath.

"Where is she?" he growled, making them tremble more.

The people around him glanced at him and gasped at the sight of him, but he didn't bother with them.

"When—when we arrived, she had already left, boss," one of the guards stuttered.

Nicholas clenched his hands tightly and asked coldly,

"To which country did she go?"

"We—we tried to find it, but we didn't find any record of them," one of the guards said, hanging his head low.

Anger boiled inside him as his head pounded and his chest heaved. He wanted to end them all for missing her. They had lost her. He had lost her. His little moon has disappeared.

How could she run away from him? He needed her. He needed to find her. He would find her. He looked at them deadly and growled,

"Find me my lover now."

Everyone around him visibly flinched, and, without wasting any time, his guards went to search. He closed his eyes to control his anger.

No, she couldn't leave him. He wouldn't let it happen. She was his. She belonged to him. It was just that she didn't know. But he would make sure that she knew about that the moment he caught her.

She had to take responsibility for the demon she had unleashed. She couldn't escape from her responsibility. She couldn't escape from him.

There was nowhere she could run from him. There was nowhere she could hide where he would not find her. When he got her, he would let her know that she couldn't hide from him. He would cage her. She would be his. All his.
