Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Battle of the Young Shinobi – Satoru-Sensei Observes and Learns

Obito vs. Kakashi – A Clash Between Determination and Composure

Satoru-sensei took a step back, crossing his arms as he observed.

In front of him, Obito and Kakashi stood face-to-face:

Kakashi – his body relaxed, left hand in his pocket, eyes calm and unreadable. He made no move to attack first. Obito – his expression burning with determination, legs slightly bent, ready to explode into motion at any second.

Gai watched excitedly, looking even more eager than the actual participants.

Satoru-sensei narrowed his eyes, focusing on the two students.

"I talked about battle rhythm, but… how much did they actually understand?"

He didn't interfere, letting the match unfold naturally.

Obito launched forward first!

He swung a punch, aiming directly at Kakashi.

Kakashi remained still, eyes lazy, tilting his head slightly to evade the attack with ease.

Obito gritted his teeth and unleashed a flurry of punches.

But every time he struck, Kakashi simply sidestepped left or right, dodging with minimal effort.

Completely calm. Completely unaffected.

The more Obito attacked, the more frustrated he became.

"Stand still and fight me properly!"

Kakashi smirked slightly.

"Aren't you supposed to be the one trying to hit me?"

Obito clenched his fists, suddenly shifting his footwork to catch Kakashi off guard.

But—

Kakashi was already gone.

"Lost sight of him!?"

Obito's eyes widened—

And then—a tap on his back.

"Got you," Kakashi said coolly.

Obito gritted his teeth, sweat forming on his forehead.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even touch Kakashi.

Satoru-sensei narrowed his eyes, then spoke calmly:

"That's enough."

Obito, panting and exhausted, turned to his teacher.

"Sensei… no matter what I do, I can't touch him…"

Analysis and A New Lesson

Satoru-sensei stepped forward, his expression thoughtful.

"Do you know why Kakashi was able to dodge every single one of your attacks so easily?"

Gai immediately raised his hand.

"Because Kakashi has super-fast reflexes!"

Satoru nodded.

"Correct, but that's only part of it. The more important reason is…"

He turned to Kakashi, smirking slightly.

"…he controlled the rhythm of the fight."

Obito froze.

"Rhythm…?"

Satoru-sensei nodded.

"Kakashi maintained his own rhythm, forcing you to react to his movements, which kept you on the defensive the entire time."

He then turned to Kakashi.

"Kakashi, am I right?"

Kakashi tilted his head, then nodded.

"Sensei is right. Obito moves purely on instinct, so as long as I stay calm and read his movements, dodging is simple."

Obito clenched his fists, but for once, he didn't argue.

For the first time, he began to understand the gap between them.

Satoru-sensei continued.

"In a battle, if you allow your opponent to dictate the pace, you've already lost half the fight."

He tapped Obito's chest lightly.

"But if you force them to fight your way, even if they're stronger than you, you still have a chance to win."

Obito stood in silence, processing everything he had just heard.

A Reward From the System – A New Advancement in Ninjutsu

At that moment—

A familiar voice echoed in Satoru's mind.

[Congratulations, Host, for completing the lesson!]

[Lesson Quality: A]

[Reward: 250 Points]

[Bonus Reward: Observation Haki (Low Level) – Converted into Combat Sense Ninjutsu.]

Satoru-sensei flinched slightly but quickly masked his reaction.

"Observation Haki? But the system converted it into a ninjutsu?"

He opened his status screen, reading the skill description.

[Combat Sense Ninjutsu (Level 1): Uses chakra to enhance the nervous system and senses, allowing brief prediction of enemy movements.]

"In other words, this is like a sixth sense, but powered by chakra!?"

Satoru found this incredibly intriguing.

"If I master this, I could teach it to them…"

A small grin formed on his lips.

Next Exercise – Controlling the Battle Rhythm

Satoru-sensei clapped his hands, drawing the trio's attention.

"Alright, now I want you all to practice controlling the rhythm."

He pointed at Gai.

"Gai, your strength is in Taijutsu. When you're fighting someone stronger, how do you make them fight on your terms?"

Gai frowned, thinking deeply before responding:

"If I keep attacking at high speed, my opponent won't have time to counterattack…?"

Satoru-sensei nodded in approval.

"Exactly! If you keep them on the defensive, then you are the one dictating the fight."

He then turned to Obito.

"What about you, Obito? If you know your opponent is stronger than you, what would you do?"

Obito took a deep breath, then spoke with newfound determination.

"I'd disrupt their rhythm! Make sure they can't control me easily!"

Satoru-sensei smirked, satisfied.

"Very good. Now, here's your next challenge…"

He pointed at himself.

"All of you will try to land a hit on me."

The three students froze.

Gai's eyes lit up.

"YOSH! This is the greatest challenge ever!"

Obito clenched his fists, fire burning in his eyes.

"I will definitely hit you, Sensei!"

And so—

The chaotic three-against-one battle between three future legends and one scheming sensei… officially began!
