Chapter 7 - 7. The Birthday Trap

Ms. Gunday and I became afraid and confused. We didn't know how to behave. To make things worse, Triana was nowhere to be seen—either in her room or in the library. She was even unreachable on the phone. The weekend became stressing. Ms. Gunday would've committed suicide if I wasn't closer to her. She was afraid of losing her job. Things were getting out of her understanding.

I knew Triana wouldn't have forgiven me for my actions. The weekend ended, and the Monday came. Still, there was no sign of Triana. I didn't go to my lectures that day. My actions made Chris realize something wasn't right. He asked the reason for my behavior, but I couldn't tell him because Ms. Gunday had requested me to remain silent, even to my closest friends. As the college dismissed, I went to my room and sat thinking about what to do.

After some minutes of thinking, I went straight to Ms. Gunday's office and found her sitting in her office with her head on top of the desk. She told me she was feeling headaches. From that, I knew I had to try all means to find Triana and relieve Ms. Gunday from stress. I told her I knew where Triana was when she asked. I lied just to calm her down. She believed me, and I left her while I went to find Triana. I dragged myself, heading to the library. I thought I was going to find her there. My head was full of many possibilities. I knew if Triana had gone away, by then, she was back since it was Monday. She wasn't a person who would skip her classes more than once.

When I reached the library, I harshly opened the door, and all the eyes hung on me. I didn't care about what they were going to say. My focus was to find Triana. I scanned everyone's face. Triana wasn't there. I turned like the terminator robot and walked slowly as I exited the library, leaving the door open. The next place to look for her was at the cafeteria. Within a few minutes, I was at the cafeteria and saw her. All my friends were there. They were chatting and laughing. My heart pondered, thinking she had told everyone.

"Oliver, where were you?" Renata asked when she saw me, and she hugged me, "We were looking for you."

"Yeah, I thought you committed suicide. You looked taken in the morning," Chris said.

Veronica came to me, and we kissed. My eyes met with Triana's, and she smiled a little. There was a big candy cake on a table and they told me it was for Leticia. It was her birthday. I cheered with everyone as I went to Triana and pulled her aside. Before I even talked, she told me the secret was safe with her. I felt relieved after her words, but I wondered why it was easy for her while it took her months to understand the consequences of the night of the welcome party. She warned me not to repeat it. I felt so happy and hugged her.

We then changed our focus to the cake, which was ready to be cut. Leticia blew the candles, and I was already standing next to her with a knife. I helped her cut the cake. After that, we ate the cake and enjoyed our drinks. Thereafter, the girls left. We lads chilled for a few minutes before Chris and Jeff went to the grounds for their football session while I headed to the library. I had to prepare for my writing competitions. I texted Ms. Gunday that everything was alright and then phoned Triana to meet me at the library. Triana came straight away to the library. I briefed her about my competition, and she volunteered to help me. We spent hours reading and chatting just like we used to do.

At sunset, I went to my room. I found Leticia laid naked on my bed and told her that wasn't Chris' bed. She showed she knew. I asked her what she wanted since she knew Chris was not in the room. She requested me to sleep with her so that she would create a birthday memory. I couldn't believe it. The events were so confusing to me. She came slowly towards me, but I pushed her back onto the bed. I went straight to the bathroom to bathe. She tried to join me, but I locked the door. I expected her to leave, but I was surprised when I found her still on my bed, waiting for me. Her teenage-sagged breasts made my retina to contract. In my imagination, I was cupping them up. The moment caught me, and I fell for it. She showed me she could move as if she were spineless. After that, she didn't stay. She left after telling me they had a meeting as girls in her room. I wondered what kind of meeting they had.

When Leticia entered her room, she found everyone waiting for her. Renata was losing patience in waiting for her. She apologized to everyone for being late and gave false reasons for her delay. She felt nothing when she looked at Veronica, knowing that minutes back, she had sex with me. I'm sure she was used to it since she was also sleeping with her sister's boyfriend.

At that moment, Mariana entered the room with Marcos Mann. They cheered at him while they were getting ready to be drunk. Renata was stripping off for Marcos, and he was enjoying it. He didn't know the girls were planning to make him pay for what he did to Veronica. Marcos enjoyed the nakedness of girls while drinking with each glass of whiskey clouding his mind. When he was too drunk, they tied him and pushed him under Leticia's bed. They were waiting for him to wake up.
