Chapter 3 - Useless Talent

It was a sunny day.

The birds were singing and the warmth of the sun was not too overbearing.

The breeze that comes from nature cools down the bodies of the people who are enjoying their time outside so people do not have to suffer under this weather.

"So you are an actor."

A woman whose face is darkened out asked me.

"Don't tell me you don't watch the movies that I was star in."

I asked her back.

"You are only a third-rate star and you are a horrible actor from the few movies that I have seen where you starred in. I doubt you would even get a role if you weren't related to Barry Kahn."

She mocked me.

"You are being too harsh. Even if I quit acting I can still make money through modelling because of my face alone."

I replied.

Then suddenly I saw a large pink beam pierce the sky far away.

"What is that?"

I asked as I got up.

The beam split into millions of smaller beams that were scattered across the planet as a whole.

One of them hit the woman who was just talking to him and the other hit me.

It was painful. My whole body is burning and I feel like I was being grilled on a steaming hot oven.

"No. I can't die like this."

Then before my eyes closed I was reduced to ash.

*****

"Ahhhhhh."

I yelled out as I woke up from my nightmare.

I looked around and saw Upa sleeping near me.

I heard some noises from outside so I got up to see Bora chopping wood.

"Oh. You are already woke up? Then can you go and catch some animals for us to eat after washing your face."

He asked me.

I nodded and got up to catch some animal for breakfast.

A large monster in this universe can be killed easily compared to real life.

Not anyone can kill large monsters, but for those who are stronger than a normal human even if it's by a slight margin it is possible.

I moved from one place to another trying to find an animal that was smaller than a large dinosaur.

I am not confident in dealing with those giants just yet with only a few days of training.

Luckily for me, I found a wild boar. It was larger than me but not to the extent that it seemed impossible for me to kill.

I jumped on top of the boar who was off guard and punched its head with my fist.

Even as a trained boxer, I am still unable to crack the skull of the boar or directly kill him by making a mash out of his brain.

But that was not what I was hoping for.

The boar started to run towards a nearby hill to slam his head onto it in the hopes that it would make me fall from his head.

I pulled out a small knife and started to stab the boar all over his head in hopes that I was able to pierce one of his vital organs.

Crimson blood started to appear from the wounds that it got from the small knife and covered my hands with it as the movements of the boar started to become wary.

Luckily for me, it worked as the boar collapsed to the ground before it could slam its head to the hill.

"This would have been much easier if I could just beat them effortlessly with one hit."

But I have to train a bit more to reach that state.

I took the boar back to the place where Bora and Upa were.

We have a feast with the grilled boar.

After that, my training with Bora started.

It was just an hour of spar that helped me gain combat experience.

During the sparring session, Bora has to hold back his strength noticeably since my body cannot handle his attacks without getting seriously injured.

After that, my real training begins.

Bora was unable to accompany me outside of the sparring session so he created a training plan for me to build my body up.

Bora does not use things such as weights or sprinting machines, so he has to use tools that are found in nature to aid in my training.

I have to do pushups while carrying a bolder that weighs four times my body on my back.

I have to do situps near the edge of the cliff while two smaller boulders are attached to my body using a string.

Running as fast as I can for an hour straight.

Meditating for several hours without even moving an inch of my muscles to give them rest while training my mind.

Catching fish with my bare hands to enhance my precision and reflexes.

And the training was paying off.

I was unable to follow the training plan to the fullest when I first started but after a month I started to be able to get used to it.

"You know. If we are talking about Talents, you are almost as talented as me, Kei."

Bora said to me but I was not too pleased.

Bora is a talented Martial artist of earth but his talent is not the best even among the Earthlings.

Being inferior to Bora means that I have to work very hard to catch up to others who will walk on the same path as me.

I can't afford to think about the developments of the others since I now know I have to use every piece of information, resource and charm that is at my disposal to become stronger.

"Master," I called out to Bora.

"Huh?"

"Can you help me increase my training intensity?"

I asked.

Bora seemed to be confused by my request. But he agreed.

He told me that since I requested it, starting from the next day the training equipment that I used would be heavier and the training plan would now be more intense.

He also told me that he would stop holding back on our sparring session.

In exchange for suffering more my martial arts journey will now be more smoother in the future.
