Chapter 35 - 35. Morning Incident

Huo Yuhao saw the suspicious look on Wang Dong's face and immediately panicked. He quickly raised his hands, trying to calm the situation before it got any worse.

"W-Wait! I can explain everything!"

However, instead of listening calmly, Wang Dong narrowed his eyes even further, clear disbelief written all over his face.

"Hah?! What's there to explain? The evidence is right in front of me!" He pointed at the two of them with an expression like he had just witnessed something disgusting. "You were cuddling in bed. And you say it means nothing?!"

Huo Yuhao was almost in tears from frustration. His already red face grew even hotter. 'Why am I going through this so early in the morning?!'

"Seriously! It's all a misunderstanding! I just wanted to let Wang Feng sleep on my bed because I felt bad for him sleeping on the floor! But he refused and insisted we sleep together! I hesitated at first, but eventually agreed."

He took a deep breath and continued, speaking faster due to his nerves. "I also have no idea how we ended up in that position!"

But instead of believing him, Wang Dong crossed his arms with an even more skeptical look.

"Hmph! So you say you pitied him? Then why were you the one being hugged?"

Huo Yuhao opened his mouth, but no words came out.

"I-I don't know! I tried waking him up earlier, but he wouldn't budge! He even mumbled something about a 'comfortable bolster!'" Yuhao said, face bright red.

His eyes drifted toward Wang Feng, who was still sleeping peacefully behind him. The boy's breathing remained calm, and his face looked so serene that nothing could disturb his sleep.

Wang Dong glared sharply at Wang Feng. He quickly grabbed the nearest blanket, raised it high, then harshly threw it right onto Wang Feng's face.

"WAKE UP, YOU!!!"

A low groan came from under the blanket. Wang Feng stirred a little, then slowly started to move. He raised a hand to push the blanket off his face, then yawned lazily. His eyes were still half-closed as he muttered sleepily.

"Mmhh… why so noisy this early…"

Wang Dong's expression turned even more irritated. "Wake up and explain yourself!" he snapped sharply.

Wang Feng rubbed his face sluggishly, finally opening his eyes fully. His golden gaze still looked a bit drowsy as he glanced around. His gaze first landed on Wang Dong standing beside the bed with an angry face. Then, his eyes moved to Huo Yuhao, who was still trapped in his arms, face red as a tomato.

Realizing just how awkward the situation was, Wang Feng merely blinked, then smiled.

"Oh, it's morning already?" he said casually, as if nothing weird had happened.

Huo Yuhao quickly nodded, his breath slightly ragged from anxiety. "Yes! And you need to explain why you were hugging me the whole night!"

Wang Feng didn't seem to catch on to the seriousness of Yuhao's expression. A few seconds later, he just smiled again and said nonchalantly:

"Hmm… maybe because you're comfy to hug?"

"YOU…!!!"

Huo Yuhao nearly lost it. His already red face was practically steaming from embarrassment. 'How can he say that with such a straight face?!'

Before Yuhao could react further, Wang Dong had already taken action. He swiftly grabbed a pillow from the bed and hurled it with all his strength straight at Wang Feng's face.

"YOU SLEEZY—NO, YOU BOY-CRAZED FLIRT!!!"

"Ugh!" Wang Feng grunted softly as the pillow hit him. He pushed the pillow off his face. "Jeez, why are you throwing pillows at me… I was just hugging Yuhao while sleeping. It's not that big of a deal, right?"

Wang Dong growled, his hand already reaching for another pillow to throw. "YOU WANNA DIE, HUH?! DON'T TALK LIKE YOU'RE THE VICTIM!!!"

Huo Yuhao, still stuck in Wang Feng's arms, finally saw a chance to break free. He quickly pulled himself out, rolled away like he had just escaped a terrifying trap.

Once he was free, he jumped to the corner of the bed and stared at Wang Feng with a wary expression.

"Don't ever do that again! I'm a person!" he said with a trembling voice—though oddly enough, it still sounded soft.

Instead of feeling guilty, Wang Feng simply shrugged with a relaxed smile. "Alright, alright. I get it, no need to be so stiff, Yuhao."

Then, with a casual movement, he stretched his body and let out a long sigh. For a moment, he looked like someone completely content with his sleep last night, showing not a hint of regret.

Wang Dong glared at him, eyes narrowed. "Hmph, I'll let you off for now. But if you try anything again, just you wait."

He then turned toward the door. "I'm leaving. I don't want to get infected by your weird vibes."

Huo Yuhao looked like he was about to cry from shame. "T-There are no weird vibes! Don't say things that can be misunderstood!"

But Wang Dong had already walked out before Yuhao could explain further.

Meanwhile, Wang Feng just gave a small smile and yawned again before leaning back on the bed. "Ah… what a lovely morning…"

Huo Yuhao let out a long sigh.

At the same time, Wang Feng remained quiet for a moment before chuckling softly. He looked at Huo Yuhao, who still looked upset, and said casually, "So… breakfast first, or should we go back to sleep?"

Huo Yuhao looked at him with a blushing face and an expression that seemed more embarrassed than angry.

And just like that, the peaceful morning turned into the beginning of a dramatic day.

After the incident that morning, they prepared for their first day of classes. Yesterday was the final day of the new student intake, and now it was time to begin their academic life.

They left the dormitory wearing white uniforms, signifying their education level. At this academy, student uniforms differed in color depending on their level, as did the buildings where they studied.

On their way to class, the atmosphere between them felt awkward. No one said a word, as if the events of the morning still lingered in their minds.

Upon arriving at the teaching building, they entered Class 1, where they would be studying together.

As Wang Feng, Wang Dong, and Huo Yuhao stepped into the classroom, the atmosphere instantly shifted. Almost every seated student turned to look at them.

Especially Wang Feng and Wang Dong, who quickly became the center of attention due to their good looks. Some students began whispering to each other.

"Wow… who are those two? They're so handsome!!"

"I don't know, but the important thing is—look at how they walk together, don't they look like a couple!?"

"And that other kid, he's super cute. He's totally the bottom."

Just a bunch of girls with strange hobbies gossiping.

Luckily, Wang Feng, Wang Dong, and Huo Yuhao didn't hear their conversation—otherwise, Wang Dong might've lost it right then and there.

Huo Yuhao, who did catch part of the whispering, could only smile bitterly. "Why do I have to be compared to those two..."

Suddenly, a hand patted his head. He turned to see the hand belonged to Wang Feng.

"Don't worry. When you grow up, Yuhao, you'll definitely become a handsome guy," he said with a warm smile.

As Wang Feng said that, he leaned in slightly, bringing his face close to Huo Yuhao's ear. His voice was soft yet clear, so close that Yuhao could feel his breath against his face.

Huo Yuhao froze instantly. His eyes widened, and his face turned beet red like a boiled crab. His heart pounded uncontrollably.

"W-What is this?! Why is he speaking so close?!" he panicked internally.

Meanwhile, the fangirl students—who had been watching this entire time—gasped and then exploded with excitement.

"KYAAAH!!! DID I JUST WITNESS A ROMANTIC MOMENT?!"

"Did you hear that?! Wang Feng whispered in Yuhao's ear! It's just like those scenes from romance novels!!"

"NO! It's even better! I can feel the chemistry! They totally look like a secret couple!!"

Some of them even clutched their faces, trying to hold back imaginary nosebleeds from the scenario playing out in their minds.

Elsewhere, Huo Yuhao, still frozen in place, finally snapped out of it and quickly pulled away from Wang Feng with his face bright red.

"D-Don't talk so close to me!!" he protested with a trembling voice.

Wang Feng just smiled calmly, seemingly unaware of the commotion he'd just caused. "I was only trying to cheer you up. You're way too serious, Yuhao," he said casually.

Meanwhile, Wang Dong, who had been watching the chaos unfold, could only stare with a deeply frustrated expression.

But their attention soon shifted to something else. Since they arrived just as the bell rang, nearly all the seats had already been taken. Only one desk with three chairs at the back of the classroom remained.

Seeing it, Wang Dong's face immediately twisted.

"What?! I have to sit with them?!" he protested.

Huo Yuhao looked at him innocently. "What's wrong with that?"

Wang Dong snorted. "Did you forget what happened this morning? I'm not taking any chances! What if he falls asleep and hugs me again?!"

Hearing that, Wang Feng turned to him with a calm expression. "I'm not interested in sleeping on your shoulder, so relax."

"W-Whatever! I still don't like this!" Wang Dong grumbled as he reluctantly walked to the desk.

Huo Yuhao let out a long sigh before sitting next to him. "It's just a seat. We're here to study, not to argue."

Meanwhile, Wang Feng had already sat down casually. He leaned back in his chair and looked at the board with a relaxed expression.

"Phew… this morning was really exhausting," he muttered with a small yawn.

Wang Dong glanced at him and scoffed. "Don't fall asleep in class. I don't want you suddenly leaning on me or something."

"I'll remember that," Wang Feng replied with a faint smile.

Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao, sitting in front of them, could only offer a wry smile at their interaction.
