''Darius! Darling, we must act fast.'' Selene had arrived at her chambers with Lord Darius, and she came bearing gossip.
Darius was just about to leave the chambers for a duty when Selene entered.
''What is it?'' he asked with expectation.
''I overheard Kael and that human together,'' Selene replied.
Darius' eyes flared open.
''Again?'' He was becoming upset.
''Come on! You don't even like her. That is not what the issue is here,'' Selene said.
Darius was taken aback.
''What are you talking about?''
Darius knew that wherever he was going to before would have to be put on hold, so he asked his guards to wait.
''Why is Kael so close to her? Kael can't stand most ladies apart from the ones he invites. What's with her?'' Selene asked.
Darius must have never thought of how sensitive Kael's closeness to Cassia was.
