Chapter 73 - Chapter 72

Luna Everleigh's POV

***

The night trembled.

The very air between us pulsed with power, two forces colliding before the battle even began. The silver glow around me crackled, intertwining with the darkness that bled from Morganna like an open wound.

She stood tall, regal even in the face of her crumbling empire. Her black cloak billowed around her, her silver-white hair whipping in the wind. But her eyes—cold, ancient, filled with endless rage—never left mine.

"This was inevitable, wasn't it?" she said, voice deceptively calm. "The Guardian and the Forsaken. Fated to meet like this."

I tightened my grip, energy surging through me like a second heartbeat. "You brought this upon yourself."

Morganna smirked, lifting the Moonlit Relic between us. The artifact pulsed, its glow flickering wildly, resisting her touch.

"I did," she admitted. "And I have no regrets."

And then she attacked.

A bolt of dark energy streaked toward me. I barely had time to react, raising my hands as a shield of silver light formed in front of me. The impact sent a shockwave through the ground, cracks spiderwebbing beneath my feet.

She was fast.

But I was faster.

I lunged, silver energy blazing around me. My fist connected with her barrier, shattering it into fragments of dark mist. Morganna twisted away, shadows curling around her fingers before lashing out like whips.

I dodged, flipping backward as the tendrils of darkness carved deep gashes into the earth where I had stood.

This was unlike any battle I had ever fought.

It wasn't just strength—it was ancient magic, two opposing forces that had been destined to collide for centuries. The moon and the abyss.

And neither of us would back down.

To be continued...
