Chapter Two
I hit the bar at Mac Clarence pub the afternoon that I caught Joseph cheating. I was not just angry. I was livid. I was not necessarily mad because I found out that Joseph never loved me; to be honest, I never really loved him too. I just went with the flow because I needed a husband for me to get my inheritance. I was mad because after promising myself that I will not be as naive as my mother, Joseph played me for a fool. He played me for a fool from the very beginning. I have been fooled not once, but twice by the same kind of person. Why did it have to be Helen's manipulation again?
As I ordered a gin and tonic from the bartender there, I couldn't help but keep replaying the scenes from the bedroom of my apartment.

I needed to travel to Singapore to attend the tech conference organised by Zenith technologies. Zenith technologies has been the leading experts and future of the technology world for more than ten years and they were extending a right arm of fellowship to other tech companies who would love to work with them in the future.
I had Joseph get me a spot at that conference; and because he was the expert in software and firmware analytics, he would join me at the conference. But he had advised me to go two days ahead as the incoming chairman and CEO of the company to familiarise myself with the politics of everything.
"Babe, this week, we are going to make history." He kissed me deeply and looked at me passionately at the entrance of the airport.
"And I will never forget about this." I avoided his eyes because I felt guilty that he loved me so much and I couldn't feel anything for him.
"I will see you in two days." I said and dragged my bag to sit at the waiting area. My flight wasn't till 2pm. I checked my watch, it was barely noon. I pride myself in being early. I hated tardiness and inculcated the discipline to my staff.
After waiting for more than an hour, a light switched in my brain! I forgot the partnership document and contracts that I had my lawyers prepare for me in case the deal with Zenith technologies went through. The documents was still in my room. I forgot it on my bed when I was perusing through it this morning. I looked at my watch. Thirty minutes to take off. If I were to take a cab back and forth, it would most likely take forty minutes.
An idea came! Joseph has my keys! I could ring him up and he can be here just in time. I dialed him several times but he did not respond. There was no use wasting time again. I can afford to miss this flight but not the documents. I just need a superfast car and a miracle.
I flagged down the first car I saw and when I entered, I showed him a few hundreds of dollars.
"Five hundred dollars is yours if you can get me inside Stallings estate and back within thirty minutes." He looked at me, with no questions asked, he cruise out of the parking spot and fired on. I sat back and relaxed. He would get me there. To my surprise, I stood at my house in twelve minutes. I'm so glad I met him. I no longer stayed at the mansion, but I had rented a studio apartment within the estate.
I rushed into the house and as I was about to put in my key, I was surprised to find it unlocked. Did I forget to lock my house? I looked back outside and I saw Joseph's car.
Oh! Joseph was home. He probably realised that I forgot my documents too. Or he had to do some work at home. Why did he not answer his calls then?
I walked carefully into the house, trying not to make a sound. If for no reason Joseph is at work, that means I am being robbed. I brought out my iPhone and decided to hit on record. I walked slowly around the sitting room and I saw his phone on the table. Joseph is here.
Then I heard the noises coming from my bedroom. What is going on there? When I heard feminine noises, my heart skipped a bit. I was not too surprised. Joseph is cheating. All men cheat. Even Joseph the smooth talking romantic lover boy. But why couldn't he wait till two years after our marriage? That was the deal. After two years, we could get divorced and be on our separate ways? Well, too bad for him.
I tiptoed to the entrance of the bedroom to take a good view of him on record for grounds of our separation. That was when I was shocked. He was fucking my sister.
He just tipped her over the bed to take his turn to be on top. She must have been riding him hard with sweat and cum all over the bed as they made sex noises. He honked at her boobs as she moaned in excitement. I stood there, horrified. There was no way they could have seen me. I had already forgotten the cab driver outside and the fact that I needed some documents in the bed where these two fu***ed.
After five minutes of foreplay, they fell on the bed, exhausted and laughing, breathing out loud. I had gotten what I needed from them, but as I was about getting out, they began to converse.
"Tell me, Mr. Stone. Do you think you'll get half as good sex from my excuse of a sister?" She hissed. He turned around and kissed her.
"You know that my heart was never hers. I still remember the deal that we have made." He answered her and they laughed out loud. What deal is he talking about?
"I have known my sister for years. She can not be easily deceived. Even by stunning and irresistible men like you. She can be thorough." She complained and he laughed. Why is Joseph laughing? I might hate my sister, but she sure knows how I think.
"You sure give Jane Stalling too much credit than she deserves. She may be smart, but I'm smarter with my wits and looks. What you think is impossible is already done by me." He boasted. My phone was still on recording. I needed to know what Joseph was talking about.
"What do you mean, babe?" Helen pestered him.
He leaned back and opened the drawer. My eyes widened with surprise as he brought out the documents that I was to sign with Zenith technologies.
"What is that?" Helen asked like the idiot that she is.
"This is our ticket baby. This is the biggest fish of the year!" His excitement was through the roof.
"When you contacted me about this scam, after finding out that your sister is the true heir to your family's estate and she wanted to send you and your family out of the estate after getting married, I thought making her fall in love with me would be easy peasy. But after all the charms I pulled at her, she barely flinched. She even drafted out a marriage contract for me, telling me that I will only be the head of innovation till we get divorced, then I decided to take my cut.
"Remember the multi billion dollar deal we are to have with Zenith technologies? This is the document binding us together. I made sure that Jane had this document all along and checked them through. It is as clear as water. But I made sure she also missed the documents too. By now she would be on the plane. I would call to check up on her in two hours time. She would fuss over forgetting the documents and I will assure her that I can get them and bring it to her tomorrow morning before their meeting is concluded. She would not have time to check it thoroughly." He half expected her to be as excited as he was, but she still did not get it.
"But what's the difference? She still gets the document anyway and you leave me one day earlier." I could see the look of frustration in his face. Does he have to explain everything as it is.
"I just need to cross a few ts and make certain adjustments. My buddy, Franco is an experienced forger. He will help forge the documents and it will look as perfect as it should be. I will put a clause in the document to sign all the revenue and benefits to her husband who is the head of all operations. This document will bind them as long as I'm her husband." He announced to her and naked Helen bounced up and down on my bed.
"This means that by the time she realises what's going on, you would be the only partner that Zenith technologies recognises as far as partnership with Jane's company is concerned?" She squealed.
"Yes, baby. We are going to be richer than your stick in the mud sister before she even realises it." With that Helen jumped on Joseph to give him another round of coitus.
I had had enough at that point. I shuddered at the revelation of the scam that my family was scheming over me. For a minute, I couldn't think straight with the sex screams from the other room and the silent scream in my mind.
But something happened, I made a mistake. While slowly moving back, I tripped and knocked over a frame.
The noise in the room stopped and I heard whispers.
"Who is there?" I heard Joe thunder. It was at this moment that I knew that I would be caught.
