Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen

Lisa

I wake up feeling well-rested, stretching lazily across the soft sheets. The room is quiet except for the faint sound of waves crashing in the distance. I glance at the time—just past 6 PM. Pedro is still in the shower, and I can hear the water running.

I reach for my phone and scroll through my messages. My girls have left me a series of voice notes, no doubt dying to hear more about the trip. Smiling, I send them a quick text:

"Ladies, I'll fill you in later. Just know, I'm having the time of my life."

As I set my phone aside, Pedro steps out of the bathroom, his toned body wrapped in a towel, steam trailing behind him. His damp hair falls over his forehead, making him look effortlessly sexy.

"You're awake," he says with a smirk, rubbing his hair with a smaller towel.

"Mmhmm," I hum, sitting up. "That shower took long. Were you thinking about me in there?" I tease.

He chuckles and walks over, placing a soft kiss on my lips. "Always. But I also had some work emails to go through."

"Pedro," I sigh, "we're on vacation."

"I know, I know," he says, slipping into a pair of shorts. "But business never really stops."

I shake my head but let it go. "So, what's the plan for the evening?"

He raises a brow. "I was thinking we dress up, go out for a fancy dinner, maybe take a stroll on the beach after?"

"That sounds perfect," I say with a smile.

"Good," he leans down, brushing his lips against mine. "Get ready, baby. I want to show you off tonight."

Dinner Date

An hour later, we're walking into a beautiful beachfront restaurant. I went for a deep red silk dress that hugs my body in all the right places, paired with gold heels and minimal jewelry. Pedro, in a black button-down and tailored slacks, looks like he just walked off a magazine cover.

The restaurant is stunning, with soft lighting, white-draped tables, and a gorgeous view of the ocean. A live band plays soft jazz in the background, setting the perfect romantic mood. Pedro pulls out my chair for me before taking his seat across the table.

"You look breathtaking," he says, his eyes roaming over me in admiration.

I blush, biting my lip. "You're not so bad yourself, handsome."

A waiter comes to take our orders. I go for grilled salmon with mashed potatoes, while Pedro orders a steak, medium-rare, with a side of roasted vegetables.

Throughout dinner, we talk, laugh, and steal glances at each other, the chemistry between us undeniable. Pedro tells me more about his childhood, how he and his stepbrother used to compete in everything, from school grades to sports.

"You two sound close," I say, sipping my wine.

"We are," he nods. "Though he can be a pain sometimes."

I chuckle. "Brothers are like that."

He looks at me for a moment, then reaches across the table to take my hand. "I love how easy it is to talk to you. With you, I don't have to pretend to be anything I'm not."

His words make my heart swell. "Same here," I whisper, squeezing his hand.

Dinner ends with Pedro insisting on dessert, so we share a slice of cheesecake before heading out.

A Walk on the Beach

Hand in hand, we walk along the moonlit beach, our bare feet sinking into the cool sand. The night breeze is warm, carrying the salty scent of the ocean. Everything feels peaceful, like we're in our own little world.

We stop by a small ice cream stand near the boardwalk. I get chocolate, while Pedro goes for vanilla.

"You're so predictable," I tease, taking a bite of my ice cream.

"And you're a chocolate addict," he counters, grinning.

We continue walking, eating our ice creams in comfortable silence. At one point, Pedro stops and turns to me, brushing a strand of hair from my face.

"Lisa,"

he says softly. "I know we haven't been together for that long, but I just want you to know... I've never felt this way about anyone before."

My heart flutters. "Pedro…"

He steps closer, wrapping an arm around my waist. "I don't know what the future holds, but I do know one thing—I want you in it."

Emotion wells up in my chest. I cup his face and smile. "Then let's work toward that future."

He grins before capturing my lips in a slow, passionate kiss. Under the starlit sky, wrapped in his arms, I know one thing for certain—I've never been happier.
