Roman walked along the river. There were people fishing. There were a few couples having picnics. He thought about bringing the ladies and the twins here. On the far side of the river walk there were restaurants. The water crashed against the riverwalk.
The air was cool. Roman could really see himself opening a hotel here. The location was great. The area seemed safe. Downtown was a lot different now. When he was a kid downtown was filled with crime. The new police chief and mayor cleaned it up.
Roman took a seat on a bench. He soaked in every detail.
His phone buzzed in his pocket.
"Ben" the phone screen read.
"Hello" Roman answered.
"Hey Roman I reached out to the seller. They said that they will sell the property for $200,000."
"Alright, how soon can we get the deal done?" Roman questioned
"Depends on your offer." Ben answered.
"I'll put up the full $200,000"
Ben's eyes were wide.
"Okay I will tell them that you want pay asking price."
The call ended. Roman returned back to his car. He drove back home. With all the ladies gone the apartment was quiet.
He had to make plans because the twins were going to be staying at his place for four days. He thought about having a movie marathon on the first day. Then the second day he thought about going down to the riverwalk.
Around 4:30 he texted Isabella to make sure they were okay. He received a text back within a few minutes.
"Yes Daddy, we are okay. I think we are going to get something to eat. After we eat, we will be on our way. We got a lot of stuff to show you." Isabella replied.
Sitting at his computer Roman thought of hotel names. He came up with a few. The one he liked the most is Royalty. His mother had mentioned the name more than a few times. He looked at some furniture. He wants all the rooms to have king size beds. The color scheme for the lobby will be black and gold his mother's favorite colors. Each room would have a different color scheme.
He was waiting on the call from Ben. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that the sellers would accept the offer. While he was planning the details for the hotel Isabella called.
"Daddy, I need you" Isabella was crying.
He could Morgan and Heather yelling in the background. There was male voice in the background. It sounded like Jason but Roman couldn't be sure.
"Get away from her!" Heather shouted.
"The fuck are you doing!" Morgan screamed.
Isabella was panicking. She couldn't tell Roman what was going on. Morgan and Heather were too busy screaming at someone to tell him.
CLICK!
The phone had hung up. He called Morgan no answer. He called Heather no answer. He called Isabella back no answer.
"The fuck is going on." Roman thought.
His heart was pounding in chest. His stomach was in knots. He couldn't get a hold of them. They weren't responding to calls and texts.
He jumped up from his computer chair. He grabbed his keys from the table. Roman was in the car. His foot was heavy on the gas. It was like he was trying to push the pedal through the floor. The mall was about 15 minutes from his apartment. Roman made it in what felt 5 minutes.
He was frantically searching for them. The mall was loud. There was music playing over the loudspeaker and plenty of conversations. Roman weaved his way through the crowds of people. He needs to find them fast.
"Where the hell are they?"
He made it to the food court. He heard shouting. The voice sounded like Morgan. He made his way toward the shouting. He saw them at the far end of the food court near the bathrooms.
When he approached, he saw Jason standing in front of Morgan and Heather. A woman was standing next to Jason. Isabella was sitting in a booth. Roman immediately stepped in between Morgan and Jason. Jason was shouting. His hands moving all over the place. The woman just stood there staring.
"The fuck is going on?" Roman asked.
"It all started in Footlocker. Izzy was buying some shoes, and he made a comment about it. He said something about her not getting the boys shoes. Izzy lost it calling him a deadbeat. He followed us here. He started shouting. Izzy told him to fuck off. The bitch that's built like a boulder came after Izzy."
Roman stood there listening to Morgan explain. Jason stood there yelling and pointing at Izzy.
"Back the fuck up." Roman told Jason.
Jason just laughed. Jason pushed Roman. Roman shoved him back. Jason stumbled a bit. Jason threw a punch. The punch connected with Roman's left eye.
"Okay, bet." Roman said with a smile.
Jason threw another punch. Roman slipped it. Roman threw a body shot. The impact from the body shot made Jason hunch over. Jason was trying to catch his breath. The woman came after Roman. He continuously backed away. He told her to stay back.
Ronda was swinging wildly. She was scratching his face. Isabella stayed sitting in the booth. She was covering the boys so they couldn't see what was happening. Heather grabbed Ronda by the hair. Ronda turned to face Heather. Morgan punched Ronda in mouth. Ronda spit out a piece of her tooth.
Jason had recovered from the body blow. He came after Roman again. Jason's punches were wild. Roman covered up waiting for Jason to tire out. Roman kicked him in the leg.
CRACK!
Jason fell over his bone was sticking off his leg.
The cops had been called. They finally showed while Jason and Ronda laid on the ground. The cops separated everyone. Jason and Ronda tried to play victim.
"What happened Sir?" one of the female officers asked.
"I was at home when I got a call. My girlfriend was being verbally assaulted by that man. When I showed up, I tried to figure out what was happening. He pushed me. I pushed him. He punched me and I defended myself. The woman attacked me as well. She slapped and scratched me. She is the reason my face is bleeding." Roman answered.
"Okay, do you know what happened that led up to your girlfriend calling you?" The female officer questioned.
"The three ladies were in the Footlocker. My girlfriend was buying some shoes. Apparently, he had something to say about it. My girlfriend which is the mother of his two sons called him a deadbeat. He got mad and followed them shouting. She felt threaten so she called me." Roman replied.
Another female officer had been questioning Heather, Morgan, and Isabella. Everyone told the same story. Jason was taking to the hospital for leg. Ronda went with him. Some officers were going to meet them at the hospital. Roman had to wait as the officers went to check the cameras. The cameras corroborated Roman's story. The officers decided to let Roman, and the ladies go.
Roman walked the ladies to Morgan's Jeep. He hugged them all. He hugged Leo and Teddy. Roman helped them put all the bags in the car.
He let out a huge sigh of relief. That could've turned out a whole lot worse. Fortunately, the cameras proved his side of the story. He just wants to lay down.
Roman made it home. He called Heather to check on everyone.
"We're on our way home. We should be there in about ten minutes. Morgan and I are going to stay with Izzy tonight." Heather said.
"Okay does Izzy want me to come by. Or does she just want a girl's night?" Roman asked.
"She said that she just wants a girl's night." Heather replied.
"Okay no problem. Does she want me to watch the boys?"
"Yes, she said that would be a great help."
Morgan, Isabella, Heather, and twins made to his apartment. The boys stayed with Roman. The ladies went to Isabella's apartment. Roman decided to put on a movie for the boys. He picked one of his childhood favorites Spy Kids.
