Chapter 7 - I'm Quite Unlucky

[Lucky Life]

"Since I only have a few coins, I will be drawing six times," Silas explained in a calm voice, staring at his balance then returning to the golden coin at the centre of his screen.

|Keyboard Warrior_76— Do the draws already!

|MrOOtega— This noob is wasting our time.

Silas rolled his eyes, then he started. The viewers couldn't read his mind, but all the things he saw was broadcasting to them, including the system interface. It was strange.

This world seemed to be more of a game to them, so they mustn't be from here The names could hint at them being from his earth— or some world with very similar terms.

Chi-Ching!

[Congratulations!]

[You Drew, "Stick"]

'Huh?' Silas blinked, then chuckled drily. He treated this world just as much as a the spectators— he'd died in his old world, and was given the chance to live as a new person.

Chi-Ching!

[Congratulations!]

After hearing the sound and seeing the spinning golden coin coming to a halt, Silas's gaze snapped to his reducing balance, then back to his drawn reward, "What the fuck?"

[You Drew, "Stick"]

Two small—perfectly cut—stick of dull brown wood materialised out of thin air, and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes seeing them land on his palm, then Silas crushed them both.

He had the first stashed away in his inventory for whatever purposes it may hold, but these two were just stretching his patience. His gaze snapped back to the floating screens.

Chi~Ching!

[Congratulations!]

[You Drew, "Paper"]

|NotFromOhayo— Can someone see if he's breathing?

|MrOOtega— It's okay. This's normal.

|Big(Nut)Sack— What was he expecting?

"Haha," Silas chuckled to himself, raising his gaze from his screens to the area ahead, then his expression changed. He turned from left to right, then he ordered calmly, "Stop."

The moment his voice fell, everyone halted. Luke turned around with a confused face, holding the girl with one hand. Ice raised her head to stare at Silas, "Is something wrong?"

"It's just too obvious," Silas answered, staring at the building in front of them. It was a house with tall gates, bright lights and zero guards in sight. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

Especially in these streets where no other house had their lights on. Silas raised a brow, lowering his gaze to the little girl who led them here, "Are you sure this is where he lives?"

|Keyboard Warrior_76— You just wasted 4 coins, bro.

|Big(Nut)Sack— Let him cope.

|NotFromOhayo— Throw the little girl to the mansion!

The young girl nodded, and Silas raised a brow, 'Even though this random girl was to be trusted over my instincts—which she isn't—I will still need to perform a test, for our safety.'

He spared her a glance and — completely ignoring the chats — grabbed the last stick he had in his inventory, throwing it at the mansion. It hurtled through the air until it vanished.

"Huh?" Ice noticed his actions, and her pupils narrowed to needlepoint. She grabbed his arm, using Silas as support as she stepped forward, reaching her right hand to the mansion.

Ice formed a small icicle in front of her palm, and it flew towards the building. She kept her eyes locked on the icicle, watching in silence as it vanished, before it reached the gates.

"It's an illusion," Ice explained, tightening her grasp on Silas' arm. She groaned, turning to stare at the side of his cold face, "It isn't being maintained or we wouldn't have noticed."

"Are you okay?" Silas turned to her, only to find her sweating with a pale face. She was grabbing his arm too tight for comfort as she shook her head, "You shouldn't keep using it."

"My Lord, should I go ahead and check this illusion out?" Luke asked, quickly letting go of the girl and stepping forward, prepared to dive into the building at Silas given command.

|Keyboard Warrior_76— Just finish the rest of the draws.

|MrOOtega— The player might show us something good.

'Entertainment, huh?' Silas thought to himself as he read the messages, he sighed, then scoffed, turning to Luke and then to the girl, "Don't stress yourself, I'll deal with it myself."

"Don't worry about me," Ice spoke the moment she felt his gaze on the side of her face, then joined him in walking towards the mansion. As they reached 'that' point, she inhaled.

The second they crossed it, Ice exhaled, and Silas' pupils contracted. He paused to look at the changed scenery, watching many men in bulletproof vests aiming their guns at them.

"Is that supposed to threaten us?" Silas asked, turning to Ice. She shook her head then raised her hand but Silas quickly pushed it down, "What do you think you are doing, Ice?"

"Handling the situation." She answered with a confused stare, beads of sweat rolling down her face which was as pale as a sheet of paper. Her grasp loosening around his arm.

"You should sit down," Silas turned to the men with guns, then sighed. He removed her hand from his arm, helping her to sit by a wall, before turning to the men with a cold gaze.

In an instant, Silas vanished from his position and appeared right at the top of the gates where most of the guards stood with their guns pointed at him, and their faces turned pale.

They pressed triggers, sending bullets flying as the sound of gunfire filled the air. Before they could react, he dashed towards them — blocking all the bullets with his metallic hands.

He grabbed one of them, using the man as a windshield to tank all the bullets, before he threw him to the others, watching them scramble for their lives. Their efforts were useless.

In a span of seconds, seven out of the dozen men were torn apart by his bare hands. He watched as the rest jumped off the gates, running into the mansion, "They're so pathetic…"
