A week had passed since that day. Life had returned to normal. Kiana and I both returned to school and nothing really extraordinary happened since then.
The dense Honkai energy that was leaking out of me had been tamed somewhat. It wasn't too much yet, being a modest 45%, but it was enough to prevent me from causing people go into shock when I touched them.
I was actually quite surprised that nothing more had gone on since then. I had assumed that after such a device had been planted in the bushes in the park, given anime style plot, it would start to ramp up. Eventually, it would get so bad to the point we would finally get a 'gas leak' and then shit hits the fan.
But maybe the device was just an accident right? Maybe someone was being negligent and just dropped it in the bushes somewhere.
I mean it was just like how easy would it be for the government to just accidentally leave uranium lying out in the middle of nowhere right?
Yeah, I can't even believe my own copium at this point.
At least training had gone well so I wasn't too worried. A lot of previous weakness that I couldn't easily adapt away due to adaptation being slow in the past had been solved and I had even gained some new things. Unfortunately, I didn't get any ranged attacks though, which was still something I was trying to find a way to fix.
If I ignore all that though, life was considered quite peaceful.
Well, mostly peaceful.
"Why the heck is this (*&*&*^ not dying? Nerf this &&*&*^ character!"
I sighed. Here we go again.
This past week, Kiana seemed to have gotten addicted to some sort of MOBA on her phone...
And don't tell her I said this, but she's kinda trash... It wasn't a mechanics issue though. It was more of a... brain issue.
She just kept perma-fighting even if she was two levels, down, or whether she was 2k behind in gold or if the jungler was there.
Hearing a defeat from the side, I let out a sigh as I knew what was coming next.
"Who the heck is this SilverWolf123?" Kiana fumed. "She's thumbs downing me. You wanna one v one you punk?"
"Alright! I got you now stupid kid!"
Aren't you a kid too Kiana?
A bit of mirth appeared on my face I could not help but think about the classic of kids trying to call others kids.
That was immediately destroyed though when Kiana let out a strange giggle. She then immediately turned to me, placing her phone in my hand.
"C'mon Gojo! Show them why we're the strongest!"
"Who's we?"
"Of course it's us! We're a team after all!"
I couldn't help but sigh again, but I took her phone. "You gotta pipe down y'know… the teacher's gonna get you if you keep that up…"
Hearing that, Kiana shrunk into her seat, glancing at the teacher with fear in her eyes. She signalled to me with her zipping her mouth shut.
I looked down to see her in the lobby with this SilverWolf123. There was a bunch of trash talk going on, some of which were pretty creative.
There was even a nice amount of Russian in it from that player, while Kiana seemed to know some Filipino.
I wish that day Kiana didn't see my account in this game when I was knocked out. She wouldn't have been introduced to this game nor know that I was Rank 1 if not for that.
I proceed to blast this SilverWolf123 player. There was clearly scripting going on in my opinion, but I had better game knowledge so I still won fairly simply.
"Haha take that you noob!"
Kiana immediately snatched back her phone and proceeded to flame SilverWolf123 when she saw that I had won.
[Sit ashamed. You're weak]
[You were pathetic SilverWolf123. I will remember you for as long as it takes to find the next game.]
Kiana got lost in her bubble of typing. I, who was still connected to the real world however, felt a smile coming on my face.
I personally thought that she would remember SilverWolf123 for a long time.
Why?
Her giggling, shuffling and phone snatching had caught her the attention of a nice person in front of the class.
Goodbye phone.
Kiana's wails filled the room as she was promptly sent for disciplinary action.

As the school bell rang, signalling lunch time, I got out of my seat and stretched. It wasn't very nice sitting for too long, especially when you were in a class that was boring.
After that, I left the class and headed for the canteen. I didn't have a lunch box of my own since I didn't really like cooking in general.
I was sure that I could get something pretty decent if I tried, but well… I didn't try.
On the way there however, I saw something that caught my eye.
It was a girl with long dark purple hair and indigo eyes- Raiden Mei if I remembered correctly. She didn't have her entourage behind her right now as she usually did so it was more quiet around her than usual.
She was holding a stack of books, ready to leave for whatever she was about to do.
I was about to just leave when she suddenly raised her head.
We made eye contact.
Mei gave a brief nod to me with a smile. I reciprocated with one myself, since it wasn't really polite to ignore someone who was trying to be courteous themself.
We crossed each other, wanting to get to our destinations. Mei accidentally brushed into me during this, causing me to recoil slightly from the static.
"Ah sorry." Mei quickly apologised.
I waved her off. "Nah, it's ok."
Our conversation was brisk before we went on our own way again. With us being strangers, there wasn't anything to talk about.
After moving some distant away though, I could not help but look back. My eyes narrowed into a squint as I looked at the purple haired girl's shrinking figure.
Why did Raiden Mei have such a concentration of Honkai energy in her body like me?
