Chapter 9 - Restlessness

He sat down on a wooden chair, letting out a deep sigh. The day had been exhausting, both physically and mentally. But for the first time in a long while… he felt like he was moving forward. But also for the first time there was a different kind restlessness in his mind.

Wang Jie sat in silence, slowly losing himself in thought

"What the heck is wrong with this body?"

"The previous Wang Jie had cultivated day and night but had never managed a single breakthrough. No matter how hard he trained, he remained stuck"

"And then, lastly, after years of failure, he gave up completely"

"From these past years, he had only made conditions worse indulging in excess sex, wasting his body away, and letting his cultivation stagnate. Now, at eighteen, he was still at Qi Gathering's 5th Stage"

Most people his age were already two realms ahead, at least at Qi Master or the peak of Qi Refining. Some true geniuses had even reached Battle Warrior, standing three realms higher than him.

Wang Jie exhaled, staring up at the sky.

"I really got the worst possible start in this life? And on top of that, in a world like this..."

"this world...."

A totally different reality. Back in his old world, power meant money, status, and connections. The strong ruled through laws and deception, their battles fought in courtrooms and boardrooms. Here… power is simpler. More brutal

Where strength is only thing above. A single fist can shatter mountains, a single sword can split the sky. This is the law of the world he now stand in—

"Chengtian Continent" {Heavenly Martial Continent}

A land where myths breathe and legends walk. Here, the heavens favor those with strength, and the weak are nothing more than stepping stones beneath their feet. Kingdoms rise and fall not by words, but by the will of those who command the power of the heavens. It is a world where majority of power rests in the hands of the great sects, ancient clans and legendary cultivators. It is a world where divine beasts roam, their bloodline alone enough to shake an empire.

The weak struggle, the strong rise. To defy fate, to shatter mortal limits, to carve a path toward the heavens—this is the pursuit of all cultivators.

"But to reach that peak, one must first step onto the path of cultivation"

The journey begins at Qi Gathering, where one first gathers the essence. From there, one tempers and refines their Qi, slowly shaping it into true power. The weak struggle at these levels, their names forgotten in the river of time. But those who persist will eventually touch upon mastery, where Qi is no longer just an energy within, but a force that bends the world itself. Those at the peak walk among kings, their mere presence enough to suppress entire armies. And beyond them? Emperors, Monarchs who can destroy whole regions in just a blink.

The path of cultivation is long, each step harder than the last. From the beginnings of Qi Gathering to the legendary heights of Gods, every realm is a gateway to greater power, a threshold separating the mortals from the gods.

Qi Gathering, Qi Refining, Qi Master, Battle Warrior, Spirit Lord, Sky King, Sky Emperor, Sky Monarch.....

{Ju Qi, Lian Qi, Qi Jun, Dou Wu, Ling Zhu, Tian Wang, Tian Di, Tian Jun...}

A cultivator treads the sacred path—passing through each realm, transcending mortality, and breaking all limits until they ascend into godhood itself.

.....

"It's really a different reality... I can't even imagine coming into this kind of world... or..."

"Could it be Dissociative Amnesia?"

"It's just that... maybe I was really born here and developed some kind of hallucination?"

"Fuck! Even if that's the case... then how I remember Dissociative Amnesia what I read in a medical book..."

"Or maybe, in some way, I just got memories of my past life..."

"Fuck! Fuck!" He clutched his temples.

"A...ah, forget it. It doesn't matter. It's not going to change anything."

"In a way... it's more profitable to gain more knowledge and experience."

Wang Jie's mind was in chaos the past felt like a dream—half-forgotten, blurred at the edges. Had he lived another life in this world? Or had he simply lost himself in the haze of wine and regret? It didn't matter. The only thing that mattered now was the path ahead, the one he would carve for himself. No gods, no fate—just his will shaping the world.

Time passed as Wang Jie sat lost in his thoughts.

Before he knew it, night had fallen. The silver moon hung high in the sky, casting a soft glow over the estate. The world around him was silent, the gentle rustling of leaves the only sound in the night air.

Then—

"Where are you so lost today?"

A soft, melodious voice broke the silence.

Wang Jie turned his head, and his breath caught in his throat.

"Miss Wei"

His second uncle's wife Qingwei

She walked toward him with her usual grace, each step light and measured. The delicate light blue silk robes hugged her slender curves, the fabric shimmering under the moonlight.

The soft silk pressed against her chest, flowing down to her silken thighs, revealing just enough with each step. The moonlight lit up her smooth, jade-like skin, making it glow softly. Her petal-like lips were slightly parted, and her soul-capturing stare locked onto him, deep and unreadable.

She looked ethereal

She sat beside him with a playful smile, her scent, a faint mix of orchids and something intoxicatingly warm curling around him.

A sudden heat rushed through Wang Jie's body, and little bro responded. Wang Jie swallowed hard 'Damn… why she looking too different today'

She sat beside him with a playful smile "What are you thinking?"

At this moment her beauty was enough to make a man forget to breathe. Wang Jie tensed "Ah… it's nothing"

'What the hell am I thinking? She's my uncle's wife…'

Wang Jie clenched his fists under the table, forcing himself to look away. He couldn't understand why he was feeling like this — he hadn't been this sensitive before.

'What the hell!.. I am not even drunk....or'

But then suddenly he realized something

'Damn… is this the side effect of that technique?'
